  1. McD is going to have to make some adjustments defensively so KC doesn’t attack Klein in the passing game.
  2. I am not gonna predict the score but I think this is a one-possession game either way. These teams are so good and both playoff-hardened. It's just gonna come down to if the Bills can keep the turnovers down to 0-1, can Bass and the special teams make the plays they "should" make, and can the defense make a big play or two in a critical moment. If the special teams can be a net neutral (not make any turnovers, not let up any big returns, punt decently and Bass just makes the kicks 40 yards and under at a minimum) and the offense makes 0-1 turnovers while the defense gets a clutch sack or turnover late in the game I think the Bills can pull this off.
  3. Packers put up a good fight on the road against a very strong team. They took the 49ers down to the wire even having a 4 point lead fairly deep into the final quarter. The Packers are a young team with a lot of good pieces in place. But they don't have the best cap situation (only 7 million in space with about 46 players rostered BUT they have really nice draft capital. They have their own first which will be slotted at pick 25 and they have a pair of second-round picks and a pair of third-round picks along with their own picks in rounds 4, 6 and 7. So while they will have a hard time adding pieces in free agency they can really make a big impact via the draft.
  4. Camp body for 2024, not surprising they want to kick the tires on a guy with some speed.
  5. No shock the Texans Cinderella ride turned into a pumpkin. The Ravens were/are just a more talented team overall and they were home rested off of a bye week. Bills going to have to go on the road to get to the Super Bowl if they get past KC at home. Texans with a few additions via the draft/free agency will be a contender next season most likely. Texans have a decent complement of draft picks (8 picks total one in each of the first three rounds, a pair of 4th round picks, a 5th and a pair of 7th round picks) and 74 million in cap space with 36 players on the roster plus the ability to add about 20-30 million in cap space with some restructures or non-major cuts. So they will at the very least be able to add some pieces via free agency while retaining all or most of their critical pieces. Overall I think the Bills if they get past KC can take the Ravens but it won't be easy.
  6. Rice is very crazy, Moss is more understandable as most of his prime was spent in the 2000’s when the MVP award was morphing into the best QB award.
  7. Buy: Von Miller, just a feeling but I think he comes up with a big play. Hold: Allen to Diggs, back to back productive weeks after a long lull. I think Diggs has at least 5+ catches and 60+ yards may not have that dominant 100+ yard game but he will be a factor. Sell: Special Teams, all season special teams has been an issue. Last week it was no exception. A blocked kick led to the game being more competitive than it needed to be and a missed kick late was another error although an inconsequential one. At this point I just want there to be no major errors on special teams. Bass makes all the “gimmie” kicks 40 yards and under, no large returns given up, no bad punts and no turnovers on special teams is all I can hope for.
  8. McD has been a great DC but if he wants to bring in someone to take the duties off his hands I would not hate brining in Ron Rivera as DC. Rivera coordinated some very strong Bears and Chargers defenses in the 2000’s and then had a fairly successful run with Carolina with McD as the DC for some time. His run with the Commanders was not the best but that organization was very much in flux and he still won a division title in his time there somehow. Ron has a good grasp of the system and a ton of experience. If McD doesn’t want the DC role then Ron Rivera is a solid choice to replace him.
  9. It’s honestly the best move they could make to have an option in case Martin can’t go. I know some were clamoring for the “Punt God” Ariza to come in but while I wouldn’t mind seeing him get a chance in training camp brining in a guy very cold off the street who hasn’t played NFL football since the 2022 preseason wouldn’t be smart. As mediocre as Haack was he’s not tragic and he has played this season most recently punting in December so he isn’t “coming in cold” and he’s also had experience taking snaps and holding kicks with the current long snapper and kicker.
  10. I would strongly consider Douglas in the slot if Johnson can’t go and Kahir on the outside with Dane or Benford if Benford can go.
  11. Teller should have been kept but there’s also no sure thing that he develops into the same player in Buffalo. The Browns offensive line coach is Bill Callahan who’s regarded as among the best in the league at developing offensive line players. The Bills did not have nearly as good of an offensive line development regime. Possible that Teller never develops into as good a player here
  12. It’s the old Skip Bayless LeBron playbook. Take a great player (in this case Josh Allen) and just ***** on him as being unable to “win the big one” and bask in “being correct” until the player likely wins a title then you can just drop it. Bayless from 2008-2012 was always ragging on LeBron for not being clutch and not winning a title. He just worked backwards from his conclusions until you get proven wrong and the player wins a title. It’s the same song and dance over and over again until a player wins a title he is unable to win one…
  13. Football is so insanely subjective especially when you don’t know the specifics of the plays. I don’t think PFF is worthless as it has some objective data teams do like to use and even their subjective grades are still a data point for fans. I doubt teams are genuinely using PFF grades to measure player performance as teams know it’s just someone’s opinion.
  14. It’s been an impressive run thus far. What’s made it more impressive is that Josh outside of the Jets and Steelers games has not been Superman with any consistency. The defense and running game have come in and helped Josh not have to carry the load even the much maligned special teams unit helped with big plays against the Jets (fumble on the opening kick) and the Fins (obviously the punt return) This team found ways to win games without Josh having to save the day. That’s saying something. Going to have to continue to fight adversity in the playoffs but at least KC will be a home game!
  15. Diggs in back to back weeks has had nice games. Even when he had his more quiet stretch of the season he still made many clutch catches for key downs. Diggs clearly has been banged up this season but he’s still a quality player.
  16. I was really shocked to see how poorly Elam was playing in the early part of the season. Elam is the teams most athletic corner and he flashed solidly in his rookie year playing decently while learning to play zone. Then with another training camp under his belt and a chance to further develop he just looked awful. But then when it came out that he was injured it made sense why he was so bad. Jury is still out on Elam but I think he’s going to be at the very least an effective player.
  17. Shakir is the slot WR and I am all about drafting a WR in round 1 to replace Gabe. I like Gabe but the cap dollars likely need to add Gabe are just not going to be justifiable. Also Diggs will be 31 next season elite WR’s tend to fall off around age 32/33 so getting another WR to groom in what could be the last 2 or so great years from Diggs is also a long term consideration
  18. Is what it is at this point. Just have to hope they can pull it off, no travel needed this week for the Bills so KC’s rest advantage is more limited.
  19. Special teams has been a sore spot almost all season. I was so shocked when special teams made the big play against Miami, prior to that special teams had only made “splash” play (the forced fumble on the Jets opening kickoff week 11) and the special teams had made three very costly errors (Jets TD punt return, 12 men on the field, various missed kicks and the opening TD to the Pats). My hope is that they can just make the plays they are “supposed” to make. Bass just needs to make all PAT’s and 40 yards and in field goals, kick and cover units don’t let up any big returns and Martin do a decent job of punting. No huge returns or blocked kicks needed just don’t ***** up at this point
  20. Johnson and Benford are going to be critical, hopefully they can get Douglas and Dodson back. Getting Douglas and Dodson back will reinforce things.
  21. Possible but given that it looked like a season ended I am glad we are at least talking about the possibility of playing at this point
  22. I think for head coaches these factors don’t matter as much as control, pay and QB situation. If the Chargers are going to give him complete responsibility organizational control and the money he wants while looking at a good QB situation he is going to take the job.
  23. I would have at least had Ford over Settle.
  24. People like to blame the outside contractors but in the end the team is the client and sets the budget. The contractors probably came up with that number because it fit their budget a budget set by the team…
  25. Field looks good but with about 2.5 plus hours to go to the game will they be able to shovel out the seats?
