Hughes has said he was involved but never did he use the term in a race. All Darius has to say I was trying to pass him and he sped up, so I went a bit faster to get around him and lost control. It's speeding and reckless driving unless they have a strong eye witness or some other proof. I am quite sure Darius' attorney knows the laws and burden of proof. What we all think or have read is conjecture until proven in court. The DA has to show all of the evidence he has. If they didn't think they could win they would take the deal, his lawyer isn't dumb. They could still lose, but they don't think they will obviously.

Which leads to if they don't sign him does he pull a Bird and sit out until the last minute. That no negotiations after an early date and then for all of next year is dumb. Is it even still the same in the new CBA?

Bills officially for sale - let the bidding begin!
SRQ_BillsFan replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would/will be scared if an outside buyer wins and then says we don't need a new stadium or can't get a deal done with the state. If they hem and haul just to waste time, I would be equally concerned that they are just waiting out the current lease. Any new stadium will come with a 30 year lease, this is a good assurance BTW, The monies from the NFL would count as the owners money -

Bills officially for sale - let the bidding begin!
SRQ_BillsFan replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
there is a huge difference between the trust and those who signed the NDA knowing it and simply the trust knowing it. So that is what matters, the way it sounded as far as what are considered serious bids makes it sound like the people that are bidding are already aware. So I guess that becomes the question, who knows these terms if true. -
+1 ... this thread is still going?

I didn't get a poll. Was it squares or circles? I got my number two pencil ready. Is this one of those tricky tests where there is more than one correct answer? Are we grading on a curve? I actually enjoy seeing some people riled up. I vote stay

Where is the Buffalo Fan Alliance?
SRQ_BillsFan replied to BillnutinHouston's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's confusing because the team will have already have been purchased by the time that they can raise enough money. Now that a new stadium may or may not happen vs an upgrade of the Ralph, I'm not sure that the money is even needed? What owner would want to take the money after the purchase is complete. I can't see a bid stating will give you a portion of the sale price after the BFA raises the money. . -
Will the Wilson trust give a stay at home discount?
SRQ_BillsFan replied to bigbill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't think it's as simple as buying a house where the trust get paid $1 Billion in cash, but it may be. I would expect that two $1 Billiom dollar bids could be quite different. One may pay off current debt or a payment could be structured over a timeframe. Part of the offer could be stock instead of cash or include a $5 million dollar donation to charity in Ralph's name. $100,000,000 could be tied to the new owner getting a new stadium in 2-3 years. There could be all types of things that could make a higher "paper" bid less appealing. It may be as simple as not having the sale tied up in court for a long time while a party tries to move them, wink wink. . -
On the 1st point we have differing opinions, I still feel comfortable with mine. On the 2nd point, I'm not even sure what it is your arguing. You seem to be beating the man down. But when pushed you imply he's good but not great. Feels like a contradiction to me. Hey mom I got a D on a test, but I'm no dummy cause I passed.
-
That's your opinion and I can respect it. However the majority of Bills fans, actual players and fans of other teams would offer a differing opinion. If he hits free agency and the Bills let him go, he will have plenty of options. Playmakers are always in demand. .

I welcome any owner committed to keeping the Bills in WNY. All of the the people complaining about him know him personally, have spent time with him and been involved in contracts with him in the past? Hey the guy does a lot of things I don't care for, but he says he wants to keep the team here. I'll take that any day over someone like Jon Bon Jovi or someone who will buy the team and come right out and stay he will move the team when the lease is up and try to fight it in court before then. I truly do not believe that he is an outright lier. There is no guarantee that anyone who buys it will keep it here if it doesn't make sense financially. If he is losing money Pegula may not move it, but he may sell it to someone that would down the line. There are no guarantees. Whoever the new owner is, I expect he may not be popular for long. Ticket prices are going to go up and revenue sharing was grandfathered in for the current team owners during the last CBA. Something Ralph voted for. I have no clue what the Bills received. But the new owner won't get it. If I were him and read some of the comments from Bills fans, it would make me want to buy it and move it. I have no issue with people saying they don't like him or want him as a owner but the personal attacks on the guy for saying the right things and high regards he gives to the fans and the city just seem wrong. Even if he is a republican.

Week 2 vs Dolphins is starting to favor the Bills
SRQ_BillsFan replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Last year was just that, Last Year. It's the Bills. Until they prove otherwise all games are win-able but also lose-able. I will go into the game hoping for a win, but nervous as always. . -
Where is this guy? Who is the back that never loses yardage yet gains 4-5 yards every play? He does not exist anyone would take him. What has Marrone ever done or said to imply that he was not happy with CJ? Split carries with FJ? What coach would 't? He actually said the opposite, that CJ was NOT available. Brown and Dixon came cheap. Sure he asked about Brown when he knew the Eagles had to many running backs. It's not like he gave up much for either guy. This year it's CJ and FJ, sure the other two will get some carries and are great to have if we have an injury. But CJ and FJ will carry the load again.
-
Is anyone unstoppable? Have you ever watched AP? He gets caught a lot behind the line and has plenty of short 1-3 yard caries. And AP is a feature back. But plays with no passing game as well, or a poor substitute for one. CJ has great vision, the problem is that he doesn't trust his line.

One of the things we all would like a out a new stadium and possibly even with a retrofit of the Ralph is a sparkling 30 year lease. Sure it can be broken, but would be difficult if the region continues to support the team. I am not sure we get that with a retrofit and then will sit in the same place in 10 years possibly with a lesser hand. With any luck in 30+ years Buffalo has turned it around.

What's a SNAP card? I have an old AM&A's card. It doesn't have an expiration, I'm sure it's still good. -
I also think there is also a perception with the "new" that Buffalo may finaly be taking off. When outsiders come to visit will they be more impressed with the new development or that stagnant city of 10 years ago? In the meantime the city gets to enjoy and take advantage of things that did not exist 10 years ago. Simply put I would rather spend a night at the new Marriot than the old Statler Hilton.

Anti Redskins Ad Airing During Primetime
SRQ_BillsFan replied to Doug Flutie Band's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I know many people who find the term African America offensive because they have never been to Africa and their families have been in North America for many generations. More than many so called simply Americans. Why do people feel this term is ok, is it simply because it use was not meant to offend? That is the exact stance being used by the Washington NFL team. And how many people need to be offended by the term African American as a derogatory slur before the rest of us our convinced that it is and should not be used. I am willing to bet I know people that find the term just as insulting as the use of Redskins. . -

Sunday Ticket - Share Your Strategy Time...
SRQ_BillsFan replied to Griz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Same here, have had direct tv since Sunday ticket existed. I would have to fight with them on occasion and would even offer to do a one year commitment but in the past they said they could not do that. Anyway I moved last year and got all kinds of stuff free , discounts, new whole house package and a 2 year contract. Wondering if I will be able to get it for free this year.
