  1. I doubt gambling will ruin the NFL. I can see a scandal or two happening, but they will probably bring in some type of reform and all will move on. On the other hand, if CTE isn’t handled effectively, I can envision the elimination of the three point stance, and the NFL eventually becoming a flag football league.
  2. Sweeping Miami and tying the overall record.
  3. I believe we are starting to see the run game become more prominent. Unless all the teams believe all running backs are relatively equal, we will begin to see running back contracts become more lucrative.
  4. If Thompson is healthy and can play at his high level, this is a terrific signing.
  5. If I were a GM, I would be banging the desk to hire the best group of scouts money could buy. A GM's career primarily hinges on the talent he brings to the team, either through the Draft or free agency. I would not be pinching pennies with this group.
  6. I'm not sure in today's NFL, Cook is a 15 mil/yr back. But I do believe that the Pro Bowl player on our offense with the 2nd most touches of the ball, 2nd most TD's, 3rd most receptions, and rushed for over 1000 yards is worth at least Josh Palmer and Khalil Shakir money. That would put him at a minimum in the 12 mil/yr, 60 mil 4-year contract range.
  7. Pitts wants to be paid based on his college statistics and measurables. Atlanta wants to pay him based on his performance over the last three years in the NFL. I don't think Beane would want to take on this negotiation.
  8. Not good news. I would be astonished if Beane ever signs an aging, injury-prone superstar again.
  9. I'm not happy about the distraction Hard Knocks will create for the players during training camp. But I'll be glad to watch it.
  10. Every other DB, Safety, and LB in the league does as well. Even Hairston said he was going to keep the ball that he intercepts from Allen. So what's the big deal?
  11. Gabe made $24 million for ten games. Not too shabby.
  12. I've gotten the impression that Kincaid plays more like a large wide-out than a tight-end. Not that there is anything wrong with that.
  13. What's factual is factual. This was the play, or more precisely, the miss-play that ended the series against the Chiefs. Has nothing to do with getting over anything.
  14. I don't like his late hits and cheap-shot playing style. I was always hoping one of our O-linemen would blow him up.
  15. I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of pass rush Oliver and Sanders generate.
