Wouldn't you? I'm making dinner!

Pete Carroll doesn't want to stop talking to Okung on the phone. He's reading excerpts from his book to him.
-
Yeah, that was foresight of the highest calibre!

Marshawn needs to retain value today. Picking Spiller decreases it and puts us in a position with less leverage for compensation or 3 RB's that could be a lead back in a large majority of the league. I don't see it, but, like all of us, my ass is on a couch and not in the bills "war room".

I'm not a Tebow fan on the field, but I wouldn't regard him as fake. I regard him as being a, for lack of a better phrase, "goodie two-shoes". The virgin, religious, leader act is stale, but I truly believe that, based on what his teamates and coaches have said, he is "that guy".

Lynch will be gone by tonight!

The question is " Is Ben singing it, or having it sung to him?" My vote is for the latter. -

LMFAO -
I'm not sure why PTR would even mention that. That would be truly miraculous if that were to happen, but we know the needs of the teams picking ahead of us and we know that those two are regarded as the cream of the crop across the board. PTR is generally a high calibre poster, but NEVERGIVEUP stated the most obvious thing when he predicted that.

Nice. But I'd still say that the jury is out on Maybin. I was highly unimpressed last year, but I'd say that about all of the D-line. Let's see what the switch to 3-4 does for this kid. His speed should ("should" being the operative word) lend itself to a better performance in this alignment. As for the draft that McShay has noted, I wouldn't be surprised if that's the direction we went. The only surprise, as RyanC883 noted, would be if Cam Thomas is there in the third.

Batch is definitely a third stringer and is well past his "prime". Byron has run the offense in Pitt before and gives them a quality option not found on their roster presently. He wasn't bad last year in limited playing time backing up Freeman in TBay. I'd consider this an intelligent move by the Steelers.

Looks like they got some opening day insurance.... or maybe a vet to hold the reins after Big ben is traded and they draft his replacement. Discuss.... http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=5119960

As soon as I saw that Parker was representing Bryant, that was my first thought. Though Nix does represent some change in philosophy, the organization surely has a bitter taste in their mouth from the way Peters was handled. I like the OP's out-of-the-box thinking. The strategies and players are very much in-line with the way I can see us having an expediated re-build. I don't generally like giving up futures for personnel that may or may not be desired by their current team (Gaither), but it will come down to how the first round pans out pick 1-8. If the Bills see their LT of choice available, I think all this becomes a moot point.

interesting mock (w/trades) from GBN

My only issue is the part where we miss out on Bulaga. Obviously it's hypothetical and based on one persons idea of what may occur, but am higher on Bulaga for this team at this point. He is a valid top 10 pick from an OT perspective and strengthens a position of need. If Chan is the long-term choice (what does that really mean for the Bills?) then we have to believe in his ability to put our QB in a situation to win. A little protection against the rush might go far in making that work. -
1: Jim Clausen- Bills 2: Tim Tebow- JAX 3: Eric Berry- Seattle 4: CJ Spiller- Giants 5: Dez Bryant- Seattle Clausen-not because I necessarily want him, but because he has a far greater possibility of being a top NFL QB than any of the three on the roster currently.

We need an elite LT and the Redskins need picks
VanCity replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Actually, statistically speaking, there is no sure thing. The odds are pretty much dead even. Suh is a beast, but that 2nd rounder could end up as a ten-year starter as well. Having a first-rounder that has a long career to go along with that 2nd rounder is definitely a Bills need at this point. Though we were able to sign some strong FA's in the "glory years" our drafts were also extremely solid. Although, you might use a Bruce/Suh comparison to counter my argument, I think the majority of this board knows that we need quality and quantity in our current state. -
Desperation leads to poor decision making. Looks like the Raiders have spent an eternity as a desperate franchise. As we all know, if Langston is an integral part of your O-line, your QB will soon feel like part of the turf.
-
That line would assist with our QB issues without a doubt. Unfortunately, as another poster stated, no-brainers and our FO aren't on speaking terms currently.
-
Astro, you are obviously an intelligent, educated fan. I just wish I knew why you had a Norwood picked in rd. 4. Yes, he fits a need, but damn! Do we really ever want to see that name on the back of a Bills jersey again?

Zach Thomas Donating His Brain To Research
VanCity replied to Nanker's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's a good thing. Zach has had as many concussions as most anyone in the league and the more we learn, the better the players will be protected. I'm sure there will be jokes, but I applaud his decision. -
If you re-read what I said, I asked if you wanted a "ballsier Favre", not Favre. He is ballsy enough for me and a player of his caliber would, as you have stated, be a welcome change over any of the qb's we have seen in Buffalo since Jimbo. That being said, I don't see a qb who is willing to throw it into tight coverage to always be that much of a necessity. I am in the business of risk assessment and that is not a highly insurable risk.

I think our DC will be.....
VanCity replied to Canadian Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Cottrell is the one I am most interested in. But, what is their excuse for not hiring him at this point? UFL season is done. I, sadly, don't know if he is the one they have chosen, and the one has been chosen. -

What I meant was that Greggo wasn't exactly glowing in his reviews of Buffalo when asked. Wouldn't he tell his coaches that when asked? -
Awesome, just awesome. Oh how the not-so-mighty have fallen......
-
Put me in the happy camp. I liked him while he was here, MCM not withstanding. Bobby was a big loss, but Bruce is the most positive replacement out there in my eyes.

VanCity replied to Canadian Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He is a logical option from a purely "his team is playing in the Super Bowl and we've hired all the rest of our DC's staff" perspective. The other perspective is "why would a Saints D coach come here with Greggo telling him about his time in Buffalo?" Good observation though. Zimmers pops has been a solid coordinator and if he follows his lead, he would be welcomed.
