What the hell is this BS?
VanCity replied to Glass To The Arson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If anyone reads my post, don't watch that video. Bunch of BS by some dork in a costume about the "Toronto Bills". Don't help him by adding views. Trust me, you will wish you didn't watch it if you do. Then you will be in my boat. -
Plenty of trade options available for agressive GM
VanCity replied to Chuckknox's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No offense robkmil, but it's like this post is a copy and paste from 500 others in the past month. Gaither is probably not available or he would be a great pick-up. They didn't pick his replacement in the draft and he is, as you stated, young and a very capable LT. I think that the OL as we see it is the OL that we will see. Despite us, as fans, not being satisfied with what we see, we have to trust that the braintrust of the Bills (that was not easy to write as I haven't "trusted the brains" at OBD in about 10 years) knows what they are doing in what is obviously a rebuilding year. -
Bills will have a mighty fine offense this year
VanCity replied to ....lybob's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is the most might we will see in the Bills offense this year. Okay, we might see a little more. We do have 3 strong RB's as noted. I needed to add a little more might. -
Confirmation Jauron Is No Longer Bills HC
VanCity replied to BillsNYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Really? I live on the West Coast and get to see a number of 49ers games. Nate isn't exactly (read:understatement) worth what they paid him, so the FO was smart there. As for Greer, that was a slight loss. However, you can't compete with a team that won the SB last year. Are there any more examples of top D Backs? Some of the D-back selections were wasted. Obviously a few of them weren't. Our FO has been horrible for quite some time, but being in Buffalo is a tough sell. I love the city , but it's what I knew growing up. If an FA is from a place with warm weather or a booming metropolis (NYC, CHI, LA etc.) what do we have to sell him on? We're not a big city team, a warm weather team, a well-managed team (one of the two things that we always have hope will change) or a team with a recent history of winning (that would be the other thing). While the over-selection of DB's is alarming, that was not because of the FA's it was because of crappy drafting, a staple of our FO to this point. Just my two cents. -
Bang on analysis. At least we know that we have three guys who will work to get better. Let Fatso take his $45 million and sit on his couch. He is so bad that there has been talk of the Raiders telling him to take a $7 million paycut or they will release him. The sad thing is that he'll have to accept because no team in the NFL (CFL maybe, but they might pay him $75,000) would pick him up.

Hmmmm....am I in favor of taking someone without a brain for someone without ethics? You can do something about the latter, but the former is something that you just can't help. Russell plain sucks. All the look and physical abilities with none of the intelligence required to play NFL football, never mind playing the position requiring the most intelligence on the field. Sorry OP, FAIL POST.

After looking at all of the publicity surrounding these guys, you'd think half of them were passed over in the first round, not the draft. That being said, if more than one makes the team (non-practice squad), I will be impressed. Not because I don't have faith, but because it's historically the way that it goes

Even Oakland is PWNING the Bills
VanCity replied to Curse Of Rusty Jones's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Can't argue that right now. However, if Bradford becomes the qb most expect him to, then the argument is moot. Suh will be great, but he would have a helluva time having as much impact on a game as the starting qb. -
Here's hoping that you are right.

Why Canadians? He has a better chance of running them down when we visit Toronto or if he went to the Vikings. Not that many Canadians in Green Bay. Just saying....

Round 7, Pick #216: OT Kyle Calloway - Iowa

Why carpool when they can both swerve themselves there? -
Agreed

Round 3, Pick #72: DE Alex Carrington Arkansas State
VanCity replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am satisfied so far. Again, the talent will be there tomorrow. The three players we have in the stable so far are all positives. Though not at a true position of need, CJ projects to be an electric player who will excel in the kick return, wr and running game. Troupe is a top-rated prospect at a definite position of need and Carrington is a very well regarded prospect that builds for the future, post-Schobel. How the chicken littles are coming out of the woodwork with this "sky is falling" crap escapes me. I actually see this as being both a safe and very productive draft at this point. With all respect to the Tebow and Clausen bro-mances out there, we have two "prospect" QB's on our roster. Taking one in an early round doesn't allow us to bolster the trenches, the place where great teams build from. -
Round 2, Pick #41: DT Torell Troup - Central Florida

Zane Beadles was a reach, a reach for the doobie he was passing. That guy looks like a classic college stoner. I think he had a pager and delivered weed to my dorm room. -

I am perfectly happy with this. i expected that he would be our 3rd rounder with Charles Brown as our 2nd, but that might reverse itself... Can't argue the pick though -
I concurr. Maybe they want a leader at the halfback position? That's where he may just end up. I am interested in Claussen, but would love to know what the teams in the first round that needed QB's found in him to set him up behind Tebow. With his skillset, there has to be some mental questions to get him into this predicament.
-
Hey, God willing he finds success somewhere. The one thing that nobody has considered is that he is going to get paid 1st round money to sit on the bench and learn for two years. He should be an observer who gets room and board, not a million dollar benchwarmer. Denver has to readily accept that this is what they signed up for.
-
I understand that everyone is in love with his "intangibles", but can an intangible throw a ball to a receiver 40 plus yards without it falling 10 yards short? You need the right mentality to win the game, but he has to have the skillset as well to be a success in this league. He's no Peyton, Brady, Brees, Roethlisberger or Eli and these are the guys that have won chips in the past decade (I`ll neglect to mention Dilfer, cause that was an anomoly). Unless he invents a new formula or can successfully completely reinvent his throwing motion and game, then he doesn`t fit the bill of what makes a championship QB.
-
What has yet to be proven is that he is a first round talent. Ryan Leaf was picked first overall, but I wouldn't consider him a first round talent. First round pick, but UDFA talent. Kiper was wrong in saying he would get picked in the third, but he may have been right stating that he was most worth the risk in the third round.
-
That has yet to be proven. One thing that is proven is that no athlete in any draft that I can remember has been as polarizing.
-
The major difference there is that you have 3 or 4 plays to get 10 yards. One QB is designated to take all of these snaps. However, you can go change of pace with your backs and play three of them in one set of downs. If I am a Broncos fan, I am wondering why they bothered going in the direction of Tebow when they have Orton and Brady, both relatively young QB's with upsides themselves.
-
Depends on which player you trust most at their current position: Kyle Williams Demetrius Bell or any of the three QB's There are good prospects at all of them currently, but we are another 9 picks away.....
-
You speak of him as though he is Jesus reincarnate. I don't see "him" proving anyone wrong. He might surprise some by actually sticking as a QB, but he won't be the success story he was in college. You can rub it in my face if I'm wrong, but I won't hold my breath.
-
So much anger over Tebow? Spiller was the BPA available on the side of the ball that we (meaning the team of the people who don't go on a Bills website to state their affection for another team) needed an offensive threat. You'd think that you'd wait until the draft is concluded before jumping ship. But, enjoy being a Broncos fan. I'm sure you'll fit right in!

Do you know that guy or was he a google hit? I hope it's the latter because he is not good!
