  1. Okay, so you want a "ballsier" Brett Favre at QB then? I'll take someone who checks down instead of throwing the ball into tight coverage and risks getting picked every time off any day. It is incredibly frustrating to watch both styles, but one gives their defense better field position than the other. The one who at least allows the punting team onto the field. As for Trent, I am not sold either way. He showed flashes of being good, but his concussions are worrisome. He was scared last year. Fear can drag a man to his football grave.
  2. I see a point here. Neither of them was promoted to Head Coach or GM. Here's another point. Just because it doesn't work with one or two individuals doesn't mean it will never work. Give Buddy a chance. If he fails, you can say "I told you so". If he succeeds, at least you won't be the one being told. Just saying....
  3. I like posts like this. Statements backed up by facts. OP=fail. I am more embarrassed to share a passion for the Bills with you than I am of Buddy Nix. I don't think any of us should be embarrassed. That would insinuate that we ourselves have done something. Don't forget that it's only a football team. It's not our family that's being run by Ralph. That would be embarrassing!
  4. Not a chance. It's George's job to lose. There is serious nepotism in the McFly clan.
  5. Uhhh..yeah...cuz he started the thing...... Thanks again SDS!
  6. LT free agent LG Wood/Incognito C Hangartner RG Incognito/Butler RT Levitre It all comes down to Woods health and our ability to sign a valid LT. I don't expect that a starting LT will fall to us in the draft, so we are needing to find one on the market. Mat Light makes some sense. Marcus McNeill will ask more than he is worth and has some injury concerns, but he's done a solid job protecting the jerk in San Diego for a few years. Despite the fact that you wouldn't think Tampa would have a good O-lineman after their performance this year, Donald Penn is young and did a very good job of protecting Freemans blindside this year.
  7. Thanks! I agree with every one of the players you noted as being top choices. Now, the question is, do any of them have Buffalo in bold print?
  8. What does that actually say? That is about as vague as can be. Does it mean we need a cold weather guy? A big strong armed guy? A guy who realizes his O line isn't going to stop a DII defense? Kelly is great. All the respect in the world to him, but he isn't really saying much in that quote.
  9. Might have been one or two from OJ too. Pissed off that "Buffalo Bills" isn't a licensed copyright of OJ Simpson Inc.
  10. Guy was the right guy to see his way out. It just so happens that there are a few guys that need to see their way in (a coaching and training staff full of guys would be a start) and a few more guys that might see pink slips in their mailboxes soon.
  11. Bang on. Am I happy when the Bills lose? No. Do I rely on a Bills win to enjoy my week? No. Some people just take sports that they can't or don't actually play themselves too seriously. Getting so down on them just makes their lives that much worse.
  12. Ted Ginn is the player he is referring to. Miami this week anyone?
  13. What he said. I have never felt more bang on about a post.
  14. The wonder plan seems to be the way of the past....let's hope it's not the way of the future....but it probably is....
  15. Was waiting for some OL moves. Fingers are crossed. Jamon Meredith wasn't expected to perform, but I am actually surprised. He has not played that bad in his role for a guy who couldn't make it on the craptastic line in Green Bay.
  16. I had a tib fib break 8 years ago and was back playing competitive basketball 9 months later. It can be done, but it is still a horrible injury. Not much fun to look down at your leg and see it looking like that either!
  17. I'm all for cleaning house in the FO, on the field and in the coaching staff. Keeping Fewell and April wouldn't bother me, though they have both been part of the last few years of less than mediocre football. Our best case scenario is to bring in a GM who knows how to build from the ground up (a la Parcells, although not Parcells) and a coach (a la Dungy) who can work with a team looking to resurrect itself. The draft and Free Agency next year will be extremely important and we need to have the right people in place to make the best of this time. I am, for the first time in a long time, actually excited to see how things progress at 1BD.
  18. Yeah, and we'll bring in Mularkey too! Really? That is just a typo. Williams is persona non gratis here. He's doing a stand-up job in NO and they'll keep him there at least one more season.
  19. The Hamdan is ready. He lurks in the shadows, ready to pounce upon the unknowing. He has been a secret weapon acquired to win a Super Bowl single-handedly. As we know that Ralph does not wish for this, he waits and bides his time.
  20. Ding ding ding...yes you are correct sir! I would be more confident if we had a mentally strong young QB. Gimme a Matt Ryan or Flacco-type and I'm happy. TE is weak in the mind after the punishment he has taken. He won't come back with any surplus confidence and he is probably done progressing. He is relatively young and inexperienced, but his experience so far has left him scarred and scared.
  21. Man, that felt good. I know that it doesn't mean anything, but it still felt good. There were some very fortunate instances in that game for both teams.
  22. I'm thinking that if TO says he feels bad about this game, then we win. If he feels good...no chance... Just following the trend of the past two weeks...
  23. Watching this game is going to be painful. The paper bag over my head is going to be awkward too. That being said, let the rebuilding begin. Throw in rookies, trade TO for a draft pick. Whatever needs to be done to make this thing work for the future. Cause the future is all we got. The present sucks!
  24. On a completely unrelated topic, I really like "why not Hamdans" Avatar. I guess it's not OT if the band played at OBD. On a related topic, I always like to see the rooks spend as much time as possible at OTAs to get their heads and bodies ready for the rigours of the NFL. Taking time off is never that positive. Hopefully we see Shawn soon. Especially as he is pencilled in as a starter and has got the Bills consistently positive reviews for getting one of the steals of the 4th round. I do expect some positive things from him this year.
  25. Think of the money and the size of the fan base you are talking about here. SF/Oakland draw from an expansive and densely populated (not to mention the corporate headquarters for multi-billion dollar tech companies) Northern California region, Washington/Baltimore relies on a largely wealthy (think: government paid)and sizeable population and draws from the populous Eastern Seaboard and the Jets/Giants are drawing from NYC and northern New Jersey. I guess Buffalo/Toronto just grew to a population of 15 million in each region? More bad analogies. This would not bode well. If you are a Buffalo fan, which I assume you are as you are on this board, this would in no way be a positive for retaining the lifeblood of Buffalo sports.
