  1. it always astonishes me how many pollyannas are out there ready to make excuses for this organization. this jerk-off was put in charge because he is a good beancounter for Ralph, nothing more. no team has done more to alienate their fan base than the Bills and russ Brandon has been front and center of the whole mess with his "Toronto initiative." He also WAS the general manager when Jauron was coach, that is a fact. for anyone to say he had nothing to do with personnel during that time is an insult. Maybe he'll get lucky with marrone/whaley like ralph did with Marv/Polian, but long-tme fans have very good reason not to trust his judgment. there really aren't words to describe how diabolical and offensive the Toronto series is.
  2. i still remember standing at lot1/pole6 at this SAME point in his rookie year when you broke it to me that williams sucked (as i stood there 3 sheets to the wind with my 68 jersey pulled over a down parka). it was the first time i had heard someone come out and say it, but i'll be damned if you weren't right. but i didn't need you to tell me manuel has sme major issues. aye caramba. i just hope marrone sees it.
  3. Am i the only one who doesn't need to have smoke blown up my ass to enjoy a radio show about the Bills? They certainty get good enough ratings, I guess there is an inverse correlation between how much you listen and how much time you waste on this site (I plead guilty on all counts). I love listening to Schopp because I like hearing his opinions (which are not at all uninformed) and I hate milquetoast. Bulldog can be a bit of a fence-sitter for my taste, but i still give him a thumbs up. Howard Simon is a bore, but at least he has Jeremy White to spice things up. The real issue for people on a Bills fan board is always how honest a media member is with the public, when they have a criticism. For that reason, I am thrilled our media guys are not homers. And I don't have to agree with the host's (or writer's, int he case of Sully/Bucky) opinion every time to enjoy hearing their opinion. shooting the **** in away that garners ratings is an art form and they definitely good at kt. In fact, even though I too was underwhelmed by yesterday's post-game show, I'd just as soon listen to two guys with an opinion talk about the Bills (and Sabres) than i would watch those piss-poor excuses for professional sports we always get stuck with. I spent the whole 3rd quarter sled-riding with my sons and i don't feel I missed a thing. And to whoever posted criticism of them based on the fact they weren't doing cartwheels over the bills ground game...lmao . Jacksonville is injury-riddled garbage and Schopp was correct to go immediately to the point of whether we need to draft another QB. That is all that freaking matters and we are never going anywhere until we hae a top 10 qb under center. Speaking of whch, I don't care if it was the first game of his life, I am astonished how bad EJ was in the first half yesterday, and I am not at all comfortable with him as the long term answer at QB. I guess that is where i differ with schopp/BD because they seem to consider the question unresolved.
  4. i think they're great. but i guess am the only listener.
  5. THEYARE JUST ASKING FOR IT. what the hell is this guy doing under center if they don't trust him to throw it now??
  6. thanks...that was almost as interesting as the grantland article!
  7. Considering where each was drafted, it's not silly at all. Kelly was great, a legit hall of famer, but why can't we compare the career starts of two mid-first round QBs? It's hard to argue that one doesn't look way better than the other. Hell, I think Andy Dalton looked better in his rookie year than Manuel.
  8. I hope i am wrong, and happily for all concerned i am wrong all the #$%%$%@ time...but nonetheless, it is hard to imagine EJ making most of these plays. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SvCqe0ulFWw
  9. Holy crap...Deion Sanders jut ran down Don Beebe!
  10. you don't know anyone from Wisconsin, do you?
  11. i still don't quite get it. if i am ejected and i come back 3 weeks later and have a ticket to a seat in a different part of the stadium, how is anyone going to know i am there (assuming i just mind my own business)? do they expect the ticket takers to memorize the facial features of every single person who is ejected?
  12. i have not heard it yet, but i will listen to it soon. I hope wish that he'd get more questions about why in the eff you see kay he is always punting from mid-field! that is the one thing can't stand about this coach..the only thing really. regarding the media...i do not get fans who whine about media guys expressing opinions and asking challenging questions. it's what they're paid to do and i don't know why some people on this site treat it like such high treason because they disagree with some writers opinion. i love when bucky/sully or whoever makes these guys squirm with a tough questions or column. and i don't always agree with them! i just think it's an important job (as important as any of this crap is...it's just fun and games really).
  13. if you guys want to make a case that Rinehart sucks, go ahead. I would prefer to have had him, but at least it's a reasonable argument. What don't want to hear is that we don't need him because Legursky and/or Brown or anyone else have been good enough. Our line sucks this year, especally our guards. The myth of our "effective" ground game is the most puzzling thing to me about everyone's analysis of this team. Our ground game looks way better than it is because of Spiller's ability to bounce outside and go 50 yards when the hole that was supposed to be there never opened. And also because of Jackson's huge attachments (i.e...how hard he is to bring down on first contact). but we get stuffed EVERY SINGLE TIME trying to run in goal line situations...what team with any sort of serious rushing attack has that happen to them every time? I don't like Hacket's playcalling either but at some point you have to win battles at the l.o.s. and our guys just don't. I liked what I saw out of Rinehart last year better than what our guards have done ths season.
  14. love those highlights from the 74 game at 3 rivers...i was there!
  15. We are actually looking at two places on Capital- the Best Western at 2715 Capital and the "City Studios Inn and Suites" at 2910 Capital. They were both inexpensive, but the latter was really cheap. Sounds like the big issue is traffic in this part of town. We are 6 miles from the campus so that's a reasonable distance.
  16. i got 2 extremely low-ball hotel bids to house a team of 80 college athletes in the Raleigh area while we compete there. Are either of the addresses below places I'd want to avoid? Apologies in advance: I hear Raleigh's nice, but I trying to stick to a budget while avoiding "questionable" areas. Last year I found an "affordable" hotel in Ontario CA that was 2 blocks away from some nasty stuff that my athletes' parents would prefer they don't see (if you get my drift). 104 Factory Shopsrd Morrisville, NC 2910 Capital Blvd. Raleigh, NC Thanks in advance, Bills brothers/sisters
  17. alright brother! i have no way to know who intended to do what with this flick, but you are right ...Freddy was one of the greatest front men of all time. i am so sorry i didn't get to see him n the 70s when the band was great.
  18. i think the whole situation is an indictment of Leslie Frazier...not Freeman OR Ponder OR Cassel. I think all 3 of those guys are as good as Thad Lewis! If any of them had been wit us as long as Lewis has, we'd be in good shape (the mystery of Freeman's off-the-field issues in Tampa notwithstanding). The difference is coaching, and of course 1 1/2 weeks is nowhere near enough time to get a new qb ready.
  19. i think it's more likely we lose the next 4 in a row than it is we get anywhere near a wildcard spot.
  20. that was a bummer. he got Jabar-bequed.
