  1. i think it's an excellent point because we know with substance abuse (which is really just a type of self-inflicted brain injury) the risk for addiction and long term problems goes up the YOUNGER you start using. it makes sense that the younger you were when you first started getting knocked in the head playing football, or the more it happened when you were little, the greater the chance for trouble down the road. that's all hypothetical on my part, but it won't surprise me a bit if that turns out to be the case...it is congruent with what we know about growing brains. where i grew up you couldn't play football until 8th grade...how many places is that true now? i bet not many.
  2. This sucks. I am probably the only one here who feels this way, but I have total admiration for Dan Marino because of what he has done to help families with autistic children. His son is living proof that many children with autism spectrum disorders can be helped ...and many can fully recover, to the point they lose their diagnosis entirely. The Marinos have given a lot of money to helping others' children with the same needs. The treatment they've helped autistic children get is necessary, expensive and must be provided in a timely manner to help these kids recover. there are many kids who have a chance at life today that they'd never have had if it wasn't for Dan Marino. So to hear he betrayed his wife is sad and a little tough for me to hear, because my wife and I are going down the same road (autism) with our son and I can't imagine doing that to her after what we've gone through together.
  3. until Russ Brandon gets off his lazy a$$ and starts selling off MORE Bills home games, he's stealing Ralph's money as far as I'm concerned. What idiot couldn't figure out that Bob Kraft would cough up $10million in a heartbeat to play the Bills twice every year in Foxboro. Jets too...they'd be happy to pony up that much to get us there a 2nd time...they'd make that back in parking and beer alone. You might have to lower the price a buck or two for the fish, but they are paying the man to MARKET the team, so cmon Russ, GET TA MARKETING! Is this the optimal situation? Maybe not. But everyone knows Buffalo doesn't deserve a team anyway, so in order to keep the team VIABLE it will require the Bills to REGIONALIZE the entire east coast, creating the 1ST LARGEST MARKET IN THE NATION! Once this is accomplished, you can be sure the Bills will be in Buffalo forever. Once the job is done we'll have no more home games and the Bills future in buffalo will be secure. And think of what you'll save on season tickets! You're deluded if you don't think this is 100% necessary to keep the Bills here. And remember, Russ GREW UP IN EAST SYRACUSE so obviously everything he says is true.
  4. first of all, what the hell is wrong with me that I always feel compelled to comment in the laundry threads? anyway, i finally like the uni's again, and I hope they leave them alone. Red helmets were ok, but I really like the current ones. Leave them alone. and no to pick on you r00tabaga, but wtf, who gives a @#$@# about the pro bowl?!
  5. Just my opinion here, but i think people are talking too much about Flacco during this playoff season and not enough about Boldin. Freakin guy has made some HUGE clutch plays and without out him I think Balt is already sitting home. Then we would be laughing about Flacco commanding that type of salary. So pay the guy, I guess, but better keep his best target happy too! And while they at it they should throw to him more, but that's a topic for another thread I suppose.
  6. um John you know those cements are not all from the same person?
  7. you gotta be kidding. who would sign up for a disadvantage like that if they had other options?
  8. thanks for bringing this up jw. i will never understand why some fans rush to defend the bills from media scrutiny(from you or sully or whoever else) when the fact is...as stated above..they have forced us to suck the high hard one for a very long time now. and the "negative" point of view almost always turns out to be the most accurate. i liked the marrone hire, and i was convinced it was a good pick ...until he started bringing every tom dick and harry from his staff to one bills drive. I know coaches have guys they "know," but don't tell me you're going to go to the ends of the earth for a world class staff and then just bring in 8 guys from Syracuse. That smells like Brandon, whose image seems to have been rehabilitated a bit by all this....but this is the same snake oil salesman who seems to have a lot of fans convinced the Bills can't possibly survive here unless they sell off home games. and now ryan Nassib is talking suspiciously like he's already here...it's starting to make me wonder. what Marrone is up to. Does anyone think we're going to solve our problems by cherry picking Syracuse? I mean this isn't LSU an hour from Buffalo! And the front office concerns are unchanged. For a team that picks as high as we do every year, the results have been underwhelming...presumable that's not going to change. i don't know...i am more optimistic than i've been in awhile but the bar on that is very low... and John, not to change the topic, but really....how could you guys all sit in that presser and NO ONE asks Brandon how the Toronto series factored into the various candidates' view of this job?? That alone should make Chip Kelly want to look elsewhere. I would have LOVED to see him look at you guys and say none of these guys mind playing a game in Toronto...because we all know that would have been a lie...
  9. Boy that's an understatement! i can't wait to see who they keep and who they dump. I am crossing my fingers that they see something in our secondary and don't feel the need to gut it. McKelvin is a big part of that of course. i hope he stays.
  10. because people want to see notre dame playing in big games. like it's 1977 or something. what a disgrace this was. college football is a joke.
  11. lol and marrone will be the best bills coach since ggreggg williams? he was exposed like that sham that is notre dame football.
  12. i like the hire. i think we're going to be happy about this in a few years.
  13. wow dalton...i thought he was better than that.
  14. are you kidding me? if you know your job is to WIN only having 7 home games is huge detriment. it's a farce and a fiasco and everyone in the NFL knows it. who the hell wants to sign up for a game that the players B word about and the crowd lines up against you? that sure as hell never happened to the packers in Milwaukee and besides they haven't played there for 20 years! it screams 2nd rate, and don't think every one of these coaches don't know that.
  15. 2 WORDS FOR YOU BRANDON: TORONTO SERIES! Talk about tarnishing the brand you idiot this is exhibit A!!!
  16. brandon was horrible at the first time. but he definitely is good at selling off home games to toronto. @#!$%%!$%!#@#$@@@!!!!!!!! WILSON!!!!! :wallbash: :wallbash:
  17. oh god here we go again. i reallyhave better things to do than to resurrect this whole argument. just whatever. you're right. hall of fame.
  18. yes he was an average starting nfl linebacker then and now. he did have a particularly good game last night i'd say....as he did from time to time here.
  19. i never thought he was that great...problem is we haven't had any linebackers even that good since he left. that he hasn't lost a stop in 6 years is the remarkable thing. he was terrific last night.
  20. Chan's a good man. I'm sorry it didn't work out and I appreciate the hard work. I don't think he's the only one who deserves to be let go though!
  21. i'll lose my **** if they keep either one of them.
