  1. yeah, i know....<sigh>
  2. that's just get people to shut up and get off their back about their STUPID four-team divisions. They don't want to admit it was a mistake, so they are just trying to create a way to let the team in that is getting screwed by their format. Personally, I don't want the playoffs watered down any more. I want the Cards in INSTEAD of Green Bay, not along with them. Go to 4 eight-team divisions, with two BYE teams (the division champs) and 4 wildcards in each conference. I have had the whole thing worked out for years- the divisions, the scheduling, the playoff format, everything...all i need now is for the NFL to pay me for my brilliant ideas and implement them!
  3. I know he is regarded as pure evil by 90% of the people who use this site, but Mike Schopp made a great point when he said there are 18-20 teams with QBs good enough that they currently have no need to consider replacing them. Not all hall-of-famers, but guys who can get you to the playoffs and win...or more importantly, guys who could have gotten the 2013 Bills into the playoffs this year. Though probably near the bottom, Dalton is certainly part of this group. If you accept that there are 20 teams that are "set" at QB, how hard can it possibly be to find a good one? They are not THAT rare, yet you are cooked without one. That's why I think the Bills should consider drafting someone to compete with Manuel. I know he still needs time to develop, but I also know he didn't look anywhere near as good as Andy Dalton did in his rookie year vs. the Bills!
  4. you are correct. I guess I sort of understand the criticism, but Dalton is so much better than any QB we've had here since Jim Kelly, it makes me weep that we took Aaron Williams instead. Can you imagine if we had a QB as competent as Dalton on the 98-99 teams? That was your super bowl team right there. Maybe it was mentioned earlier (I haven't read every post in this thread), but I don't think the OC there did Dalton any favors with the play calling. Jay Gruden's the guy who needs to be replaced. Also, fwiw, San Diego has a really good QB as well.
  5. There is one. Seattle is my pick.
  6. http://www.nfl.com/p...9000d5d824da7dd Deadspin posted the link above in their story about how friggin cold it's going to be Saturday in GB. I was surprised to see the 1/15/94 raiders playoff game on the list since I didn't remember that game was supposed to have been so horribly cold. I was at the 1/6/96 game in Pgh and that was 15degrees according to pro football reference, but i remember the radio saying t was about 3 or 4 above during our pre-game tailgate. it seemed cold that day, but plenty bearable. anyway, thqt pic from the Raiders playoff game was so awesome i thought i would post to see if anyone has memories of that day. That sort of looks like Mr. "Albany, ny" (another missing board member from the good old days) holding up the beer in the back row. So, anyone remember the -32 windchill playoff game?
  7. John D. Giorgis...the gadfly emeritus... the way he used to argue with ICE
  8. yeah ..it sucks that we're looking up at them.
  9. 4 playoff appearances since 99? sounds good to me!
  10. Barry Brady was also "Fake Fat Sunny" for awhile, right? and where is g. host these days?
  11. agree...he lied like hell regarding his 2 month "plantar fascia" injury and i am sure he did it again.
  12. i hope they tag him again
  13. yeah, because those 25000 fans of the opposing team would make SURE of it.
  14. i'll make it really simple for you: EJ: probably not good. he's inaccurate and the game moves to fast for him. Thad: definitely not good...should have put up 4 TDs last week. Anyone who wants Thad to start over EJ, or at all, should probably have his head examined. I don't like him as the back up. EJ should remain the starter but i definitely like the idea of drafting another QB.
  15. my divisions (tried to respect the old rivalries/traditions but some will have to go): afc east bills pats jets fish steelers browns ravens bengals afc west seattle raiders chiefs broncos 49ers chargers rams cards nfc north lions vikes pack bears eagles giants indy washington nfc south atl dallas titans houston saints carolina tampa jax
  16. i have posted multiple threads on ths topic in the past. i have the 4 divisions all worked out as well as the schedule: you get ONE game a year with 6 of your 7 division rivals and a home and home with the other (a different team each year for the home and home of course.). that is 8 of the 16 games. you get 4 more in the other division in your conference and 2 each from the each division in the other conference. i HATE that an 8 or 9 win team can get in while a 10 or 11 win team stays home. i hate the pats as mucb as anyone, but the year Cassel led them to 11-5 while Brady was hurt but they didn't get in...that was a complete travesty.
  17. what the hell...really??! you don't want him to report what hears/knows/sees? the "blame the media" mentality around here is astonishing. regarding Dareus...no one knows what the hell happened so it is stupid to pass judgment. y only comment is that i imagine marrone has been extra patient with Dareus, ans he is one of the few guys on the roster with big time talent....whether he ever realizes it or not is another issue, but the guy is a stud, and you don''t just pick on guys like that without GOOD reason.
  18. wow... troll post of the year. and this thread is on page 4 already...testament to how ridiculous the premise is that thad lewis is a starting nfl QB. (just in case you are not trolling or high) I am not sold on Manuel AT ALL, but Lewis was HORRIBLE today....missing open receivers all day long. we should have scored at least 4 TDs today and didn't because of awful qb play. I don't even want him as the back up next year.
  19. what the hell cj? not the brightest bulb in the chandelier
  20. so? that makes it a good use of $59million?
  21. i just think priorities are out of whack when that much money and attention is paid to school kids for playing football. but hey, the market has spoken, i guess.
  22. whatever. he treats the fans like chumps. freaking stockholm syndrome around here.
  23. right. they are just supporting their town. how many people came to the musical, the track meet, the orchestra concert...if it was about "supporting their town," there would be 54000 at city council meetings. peoples' hard-on for hs football that leads to all the abuses (recruiting and otherwise) that everyone gets on their high horse about. it leads to insane peewee coaches that you see doing crazy crap on youtube. and lol...a 59 million dollar high school stadium. yea, their priorities are in order... i'd love to see a list of stuff they can't afford.
  24. high school football is way overblown to begin with. 54000 for a hs game in Texas isn't really a complement to the people of Texas
