He becomes one of the NFLs premier QBs, wins MVP twice, gets Ravens in the playoffs six times. Negotiates a $260m contract and somehow you have reached the conclusion that he is stupid.

They paid a lawyer to do that, the lawyer gets paid a fee, not a percentage of the contract. A contract attorney would have access to other players contracts.
