  1. There is not another professional sports franchise that is as important to a community than the Buffalo Bills. This guy tries to make the point that threatening to move the Bills is an insult to the great fans that have braved the elements to support the team. The fact that the fans are as loyal as they are is exactly why the Bills must stay. Others have made the economic argument, I’m making an emotional one. Every purchase is an emotional decision justified by logic. Go Bills!
  2. Never been to either of those places, don’t golf, haven’t seen a Fire Ant in decades. In thirty years we have taken a direct hit from one hurricane, it caused some landscaping damage. There are a couple of days a year that I need a sweater. I walk the beach pretty much every morning. By all means stay where you are.
  3. Naples is a Palm Beach wannabe, that being said they are both pretentious. Boca is a bit of a has been, but that said the downtown area has gotten better. The rest of southern Palm Beach County is great. Delray Beach has one of the nicest beaches in Florida, downtown is fun and full of great restaurants. At its heart it is still a surf town. Miami Beach has big beautiful beaches a lot of night life. I’ve sailed the length of Biscayne Bay it is spectacular. “Price is an issue only in the absence of value”. I run into Bills fans constantly, by the way the best owners in the NFL live in Boca Raton.
  4. Except for a playoff game against another team with an “unstoppable” offense.
  5. I think they wait until after the draft to sign a vet CB. Why not see how the draft falls? I also think they go the route of Mercedes Benz Stadium, cheap beer, cheep food, get people in the building. I know most will still tailgate, but even if you get some people in the building it’s better than nothing.
  6. This pick is going to be interesting. I’m not even sure what it will tell us. They really could just go best player available. I voted for Williams because I think if he is there you can’t pass on him, but I have no idea. I’ve been right in the past, but that’s when we were perpetually drafting in top ten. I’m not so smart now. I’m going to definitively say no QB and no kicker at 25, there I said it.
  7. I think you are right, but there could be more to it. They may not like any of the vet corners available, or they think the price is too high. Time is on the Bills side, the longer these guys are on the market the more the price drops. I doubt they sign a CB before the draft. That first round pick is going to be interesting.
  8. And I predict one of those teams will be the Tonawanda Kardex Lumbermen and they will share the new stadium with the Bills!
  9. I was kidding, sort of, I’d take flier on a guy like Robinson in the fourth round.
  10. Something else was going on with Moss last year. Wasn’t he a healthy scratch opening day? Could be bad practice habits, bad attitude, who knows. Just seems the coaching staff lost faith in him very early on.
  11. Ford is on a rookie contract, which is probably the only reason he is still there. Rookie contracts cannot be renegotiated or altered in any way until the final game of year three.
  12. When Jones was letting that ball go the receiver was open and I thought TD. When Hyde makes the interception my first thoughts were, that’s an incredible play and that ball took to long to get there. If you look at Jones’ passing charts there are not a lot of passes beyond 15 yards and most are shorter. He is better throwing to his left, does not have much of a game over the middle. Maybe he improves or maybe that’s who he is. He had a good season for a rookie, but I keep thinking he is like a first year pitcher, once everyone gets a look at him and figures out what he can and cannot do, things get rough.
  13. It will never be topped because it is the reason the Bills exist. This game inspired Lamar Hunt to start the American Football League, which lead to Ralph Wilson becoming a member of “The Foolish Club” one of the original franchise owners. Thus giving birth to the Buffalo Bills. And for that reason that game will never be topped, never!
  14. Baltmore Colts great defensive tackle Art Donovan wrote a very funny book called “Fatso”, one of his anecdotes was about a game against Bobby Lane lead Detroit Lions. Donovan sacked Lane a number of times in the first half, he sacked him again at the beginning of the second half. As he lay on top of Lane he said “Jesus Christ! Bob you stink of Jack Daniel’s!”, Lane replied “you’re killing me Artie I had to do something!”. Ha just beat me too it.
  15. I don’t think that’s what he/she meant, you didn’t read Momma’s second post “If Bills couldn't handle Chiefs, how would they handle the Pack?”. He/she has 1980 confused with 1966. By the way in that playoff game in 1981 against San Diego, it wasn’t just Ferguson’s ankle, on the play before Fouts throws game winning TD Charles Romes let a sure interception bounce off his chest.
  16. You are confusing the Bills victory over the Dolphins in September of 1980 with Bills loss in AFL Championship game for 1966 season, which was played on January 1, 1967. I was also at that game. It was not as much a blown opportunity as it was the best team won. It was obvious that day that an aging Bills squad was bested by a younger better team.
  17. I was at that game, great day. This was opening day of 1980 season, it was the first time Bills beat the Dolphins in a decade. There was no blown opportunity on that day. As I’ve said I was there.
  18. Remember that time Tomlin tried to trip Jacoby Jones? Tomlin is a jerk, who without Ben will never win anything again.
  19. I was right about these two, really didn’t want either. I’ve been wrong, I liked EJ. It’s one thing for us to get things wrong, but how is that so many professionals can be so wrong?
  20. I started being a fan in 1963, my father had season tickets, probably went to my first game in 1964. One of my brother’s friends at St Joe’s was Pat McGroder III. Pat McGroder Jr. was instrumental in bringing Bills to Buffalo, (Wilson’s franchise was supposed to be in Miami). It was the championship team of mid-sixties that hooked me.
  21. I read somewhere that 80% of the seats are protected from wind and precipitation. Extra wide seats?
