  1. For me, yes. We were a #2 seed, playing in the #1 seed's home. That same #1 seed that won the Super Bowl last year. Of course, I thought we'd have a fighters chance to win. In the end, I've been hurt way worse than this. I was watching the game and Tweeting throughout....the younger gen who hasn't been through this before took this real hard. They seemed distraught / upset. They'll get used to it.
  2. Plus if we're going to clone TT, we'd have to wait 20+ years for him to age. We / I don't have time for that.
  3. I think people are too eager to get rid of Singletary. Last year he averaged 5+ ypc. I don't think he's changed, I think something else changed....the blocking scheme. Last year we were more reliant on the run. Josh threw 100 less times for 1500 less yards. This year they opened Josh up and the line focused on pass blocking. Not sure why the OL couldn't turn it on when they needed to run block...but they couldn't. I believe some alterations will allow them to get back to a running team when needed. Moss? I don't have a problem with him. He was a rookie who didn't get a normal rookie pre-season. No early camps, not much of a training camp w/ no pre-season games - then he got hurt early on. I think he'll be fine next season with a year under his belt. With other needs (based off how this off season goes), I don't see them getting a RB early in the draft. Maybe a flyer on FA back that won't cost too much...then again, they only play two on game day (unless they can coax one into ST's). I like Yeldon, when given a chance he does pretty well. Maybe turn Singletary into a Hines type role (despite his drop yesterday, he can catch the ball) and get Moss and ??? to do a bulk of the carries. Then again, what do I know. I'm like the rest of you, a non-paid armchair coach whose opinion means squat.
  4. Hate to be THAT guy, but we beat KC in the AFC Championship in '94, 30-13
  5. I too lived through all those 90's wins, but would trade them all for a SB victory. As we all get older, we realize time is becoming limited. I want that jubilation. I want to cry those tears of joy. Just give me ONE before I die. I can live with mediocrity for a spell, knowing I saw the ultimate championship come to Buffalo.
  6. Definitely will watch, just gotta etch out some time to sit in front of the TV to do that (golfing Thu, hiking Fri...so weekend is best bet). Definitely not a Phil fan, but I'm hoping DJ or Xander wins. I think someone like Tyrrell Hatton will win though. It looks like the weather is going to be ugly, so I think a Euro that's used to playing in the rain will take the Green Jacket.
  7. Are we sure he's dead? Prove it!
  8. "If allowed" (wink, wink) ...we're heading to Buffalo for a week+ to be w/ our daughter for the holiday. We've reserved an AirBnb and plan on doing a small meal w/ her. We're hoping CA will be lifted off the naughty list w/in the next 3 weeks (the only reason we're on it now is because LA County had a backlog of cases dumped into the system). Otherwise we're going to have to be undercover. After working in LE for 27+ years, I'm a rule follower and I hate disobeying the rules for the good or bad of it. If we go, and CA quarantine isn't lifted ... I'll be a stress case.
  9. No (but maybe...see below), but I have lived in a "haunted" house. We had many experiences in a family rental when we moved back to our home town for jobs after college. We didn't tell anyone about any of them. After we moved out, my FIL approached us one day. He asked us if we had experienced anything while living there, because the current tenant was having serious issues w/ something "paranormal." The hair on my arms stood up after he asked us that. Our experiences were mild compared to the couple who moved in after us. They had doorknobs turn on their own...an old fashion, pedal sewing machine, start pedaling on its own to name a couple things. We now own the house and rent it out. There has been no further mention of anything paranormal. One of my daughters will be moving into the house soon, I'm sure I'll hear something if there is.... A couple weeks back, I spent a week in Reno for a golf trip. I stayed at one of the large casino/hotels downtown. I had a water bottle get batted off the dresser at some point during the night. It wasn't anywhere near the edge or near anything that could have caused it to end up across the room. Then while sitting, enjoying a cup of coffee one morning, I was startled by a loud noise coming from the closet. 4 or 5 of the wooden hangers were pushed to the center of the closet and were still swinging. A handful remained in their original place and were still. That kind of freaked me out. I also had some bizarre death dreams during that stay that freaked me the F out. Weirdly enough, there was some graffiti on the nightstand, RIP to some guy written in a few spots. Coincidence? I have no idea, but there was something going on in that room. I also hike at this certain park regularly. On two occasions I had some weird experiences. One day, I saw someone walking toward me. Clear as day someone was there. Frustrated, I looked down to grab my mask, to put on. When I looked up, nobody was there. There was nowhere for anyone to go. I walked around that area for a good couple of minutes, looking for that individual. Nope...nobody around. On another day, I started walking down the main trail. I saw a large dark, black "mass" hovering ahead. It just hovered, then vanished. I walked ahead and nobody was walking ahead of me. Later I looked up "haunted" areas of our county and noticed park was on the list. Could I have seen a couple of different "ghosts," I have no idea. I've also had some other experiences during my life. While I haven't seen anything "per se," I have had a few things happen around me to say there is something going on that I can't explain.
  10. That's why I have the Bills on my laptop and the Red Zone on TV. I don't bother w/ the local channels.
  11. Bay Area isn't much better. We have always (understandably) gotten stuck with the Raiders / 49ers. NOW, with the Raiders gone...they still plan to show all the Raider games locally, like they did when they moved to LA. They used to have alternating times when the Raiders were in Oakland. Most times, one team would play early, the other late. Now that the Raiders have moved, they're no longer adhered to this "rule." This weekend, both play at 10am. The Raiders abandoned this market (twice), I'd hope the local market would follow suit. It's an extreme rarity we get Bills games out here.
  12. Heck, no...but I need to see more of the woman who graffitied the McKinley Monument.
  13. We've had a couple pop up...and vanish. We have a handful of Bills fans up here in the North Bay. I love it when I see Bills decals in car windows. Been burned a few times starting up events/gatherings. I think I've learned my lesson.
  14. Stay Safe. Heed the warnings. Welcome to the new "norm," which absolutely sucks. We had a wildfire (somehow) stop w/in two blocks from our house in 2017 (Tubbs Fire). At the time it was the most destructive fire in CA history. Unfortunately, it's been surpassed by others. We're still rebuilding here in Santa Rosa, 3 years later. These past few years have been horrendous and anxiety filled. I don't wish this upon anyone. No matter how these fires start...lightning, arson, utility companies...they're ruining lives. I absolutely love it here, but after our latest fire (w/in the last month...and fire season started early this year), I've seriously considered leaving. It's exhausting.
  15. I was never a fan of any of Tom's teams, but respected the heck out of him. I was old enough to remember the trade to the Reds, so I mainly remember him as a Red. When I found out he had a winery over the hill from us, I desperately tried to visit. Then realized how exclusive this place was. You need to be a member to visit. A handful of years later, I'm still waiting. I occasionally get updates about my standing, but when I found out the prices for a bottle....around $500, I then also realized it was out of my price range. Unfortunately, never got to meet Tom Terrific.
  16. Saw this, this morning. As long as the lightning strikes don't create any more damage, they are SLOWLY managing this fire.
  17. Oh yeah, it was an amazing show. We went out wine tasting on Monday and watched the show as we tasted wine. More dry lightning for Sun-Tue. We're hosed. I'm thinking we're fine. We have acres upon acres of vineyards between the fire and our location. Vineyards are a good fire line. In other words, we're in denial. Unless things change dramatically, we'll be okay. Then again, I never thought we'd have a firestorm race thru our neighborhood and that happened (2017).
  18. Thanks. It's not fun anymore. It's become an every year occurrence. This particular fire hasn't hit anything of consequence yet. It's threatening a couple resort towns along the Russian River and possibly Healdsburg if it manages to do a Houdini and escape all the built in fire lines (vineyards).
  19. I'm not too worried about this one (famous last words). This is in a "no man's land" of forest area. The vineyards are a great fire line and there are many between this fire and Healdsburg (there is a route it can take to Healdsburg though), Windsor and Santa Rosa. Sebastopol is most likely safe as well (still many miles away). Yeah, this time of year sucks. Never used to be like this.
  20. Should have a fire season thread .... a couple miles from my house:
  21. Aruba. We try and go every couple of years. This was our year, pushed it to next year instead (?). Also love Hilton Head and of course, Buffalo.
  22. I think it's how you were brought up. My wife's family (extended family included) is great with thank you notes. We just received a thank you note from my wife's cousins son who just graduated high school. Our friends always send notes too. Me? Never heard of them growing up. Something that was never done. She always made our daughters write thank you notes. I hope they continue to enforce that tradition when they have families of their own. I'm not a traditionalist, but some things like acknowledging a gift and saying thanks is important.
