  1. Again, if you want to put this under "hey, anything can happen", then I can't disagree with that. I just don't know how you sell this to a top recruit other than to say: "you won't be playing for at least a year in Alabama/OSU" Unless you are a lineman or maybe a DB, why would a player (especially an Offensive skill position) with NFL aspirations want to be in Nebraska?
  2. I figured this would be about bringing flowers to a date he had at UB...
  3. I guess if your argument is now that the likelihood of Nebraska rejoining Power 5's elite teams is somewhere just above impossible, then sure, I would have to agree with that.
  4. The Titans are the #1 seed and get bounced at home. Then they extend Robinson. Then they trade AJ Brown get off to a 7-3 start. Then they lose to a team that AJ Brown is on....and they fire Robinson (while #1 in their division) claiming, laughably: "“This progress includes the core of our business, the football team itself, which is regularly evaluated both by results (wins and losses) and team construction/roster building,” This is the same owner who, after Mulakey got them to 9-7 and a comeback playoff win vs. the Chiefs, to quell rumors that she was going to fire Mularkey anyway, issued a statement before the divisional game that Meathead Mike was the Titans HC going forward. Less than week later, of course, she fired him. lol these dumb hillbillies...
  5. I don’t think he was referring to a Week 6 win…
  6. What does Rhule say when he’s sitting in that top prospect kids living room about Nebraska? And Sanders? Come help me in a rebuild project?
  7. What am I missing? 5 years? They have had 11 winning seasons in 20 years--only 3 double digit years. Bo Pelini had one team finish in the top 15 (the only Nebraska team to do so in 20 years). His teams lost 4 of 7 bowl games. But firing that bum was a HUGE mistake!! The last time Nebraska won a national title, players wore huge shoulder pads under fishnet belly shirts. The game has left them behind. Their only chance of success is if USC, UCLA and Oregon leave the Conference. Maybe Nebraska hired Matt Rhule because of the great things they saw him do (particularly at the QB position) in Carolina!! Speaking of QB, Casey Thompson for another year?! Or maybe it's time to see what Chubba Purdy's made of? And of course those home games sell out. What else would these people be up to on a Saturday afternoon in Lincoln? Food court at the Gateway Mall?
  8. Reid is an order of magnitude more expert in his subject matter. Reid's knock in Philly was big game management (early in KC as well). He seems to have gotten past that....
  9. we are talking about what will happen in Colorado. Nebraska has no chance either.
  10. lol, "Einstein" proves his own theorem. pure gold.
  11. He's the Eagles Andy Reid, not yet the Chiefs Andy Reid...
  12. "You said JSU is competing against Southwestern Athletic Conference. Yea, but they are also going up against and beating major power 5 programs." I took this to mean actually competing. Anyway, as we have already covered, JSU and others get Bama's spillover--even with the 4-5 stars. When your front 7 has 22 5 stars on the roster, a new 5 star might think twice about heading there. The ones who are confident they will make the starting lineup some day go there anyway---precisely because they have a better chance of getting drafted. Players who want to play because they are told they won't start or will be red shirted or red shirted and still not start will roll the dice at a JSU--even though their chances at getting drafted, as you pointed out, are awful. Go figure. SO Sanders may get a bunch of 5 stars transferring in to Colorado. Then what? He's not going 12-0 in the PAC 12 any time soon....
  13. Because he's on IR and out for the season?
  14. I bet the owner had no problems with the GM when they were 7-3 two weeks ago...
  15. you brought it up. I don't know man--just asking which Power 5 teams you were referring to. Also, I don't think many HBCU players get drafted--didn't say so either. Yeah, 5 stars want to go where they will play--we've already covered that. That's why they enter the portal (even from Alabama), for instance. That's why they don't sign with Bama--because they are told they will be down on the depth chart.
  16. Too many 4-5 stars ahead of them on the depth chart... bottom line: same 5-8 teams vying for 4 playoff spots every year anyway...
  17. I agree. Still, this isn't a huge get for Colorado.
  18. what's the funny part? I even included an article to help. Yeah, of you are 5 star on a SWAC team, you're far more likely to play right away than on Alabama, for instance. This isn't hard to realize.... Also, what major Power 5 programs did JSU beat this season?
  19. Again, you go to a place like JSU, you're going to play. Go to Bama, OSU...you probably aren't. Maybe you're not playing for a while at ND or Oregon either. Go to a minor conference like SWAC or to a Power 5 wasteland like Colorado, your chances for pro scout exposure are significantly higher. Plus, throw in NIL---there's little flowing to the Colorado players I would bet. Here's an older article but it captures some of this topic: https://www.sbnation.com/college-football-recruiting/2016/1/15/10774592/alabama-recruiting-playing-time-elite-star-signing-day "Greg McElroy is praising Da'Shawn Hand, the No. 1 player from the class of 2014, who was a third stringer in Alabama'a amazing front seven that contained 22 four- and five-star prospects -- more than Michigan State's entire roster. Bielema makes the off-hand comment that his staff lets players know that if they choose Alabama, they will be a third stringer because everyone on the roster is just as talented as they are." Being a Div-1 school, he could have accepted players to JSU from other teams through the portal.
  20. he had no career in Bama.
  21. Alabama has 5 star recruits on the bench. All those schools do. That's how. Bama is loaded with 5 stars--that's their selection pool. Starting roster is what it is, so lots of 3rd stringers at 4-5 stars. Others will transfer into the portal to lesser programs than powerhouses so they can get playing time. Pretty simple.
  22. maybe Diggs was pointing to a problem with his helmet. it has happened..
  23. buncha bros hitting the gym and getting massages. and they call this "showing up to work on Monday morning"?
