  1. "he has never put together a game plan or strategy." No chance this is true. It's far easier to assume that he spent a lot of time with "Tom Moore" coming up with next week's Offensive plan--why wouldn't he? I bet Moore depended on it. Anyway, very clearly, this is a thread about a player saying players and coaches never got together in the locker room at halftime and made "halftime" adjustments. It's not a thread about what the coaching staff does in those few minutes amongst themselves. You are spending a lot of energy refuting something that Manning didn't say.
  2. First, he was commenting as a player. He said he was never involved in any halftime adjustments with the coaching staff. So whatever a few of the coaches talk about in the few minutes they have together isn't what he is discussing. Second, his coaching staff was mostly Dungy and a guy named Tom Moore. If you think Manning, maybe one of the sharpest QBs ever--and a guy who had seen every Defesen ever conceived (and made his own adjustments--famously---at the line of scrimmage), never helped put together a game plan or even an adjustment in game with his staff----that is completely unbelievable. There is no chance this is true. he's ok. just mumbles mostly.
  3. "The Legend", indeed. A single season in Buffalo. He's had 3 top 5 Defenses (scoring) in 20 years in the league. Frazier has had 3 in the last 4.
  4. Manning is the funniest guy in sports broadcasting right now.
  5. fixed it for you. people often stick with an error far too long for the wrong reason. Anyway, I think the chance that Lance steps into the 49ers game this weekend and performs at the level his replacement has (since his first start) is zero point zero.
  6. the tackler is the guy with the full head of steam "gunning" for the returner. as he blows past the blocker, the blocker typically only has time to push him in the back. This shouldn't be a penalty.
  7. i wasn’t aware of laws limiting commercials.
  8. Murph is a tough listen at this point in his career, but Brown is like listening to some kids calling the a Brighton High School game--all excited with voices cracking and canned lines. he's rough during the daily One Bills Drive broadcast.
  9. yeah, kinda... anyway, where you live, do they force you to watch all of the commercials? even if you don't want to watch them at all?
  10. Has any other player in Bills past generated so many threads debating his value to the team? After every game, a slew of them: "great game!" "he misses a ton of plays, not worth it" They are going to pay him and it will be more of the same until they trade him.
  11. i was referring to kick/punt returns only
  12. Does it make sense to suggest that the Bills Defense (#2 in points allowed) cannot allow the expectation that they can prevent a successful FG drive from midfield or the opponent's own 40 yard line? It's just too much to expect for this Defense against that Offense?
  13. no I didn't say that either, obviously, but you repeating things I didn't claim is indicative of your inability to understand what I posted. It's really simple: I'm refuting that all the FG were the result of Miami being gifted the ball in FG range. One was in their own territory, one at mid field. The crucial plays were listed. Those FGs were not inevitable based on their starting position on the drive, as you and others are maintaining. 2 of them were drives to get within FG range, therefore opportunities for Defensive stops.
  14. eat that crow boys!
  15. lol that's really not how it works. Even with no commercial break, there would be the same time required to finish the review.
  16. has it stopped blocks in the back? how many players have missed games because they got blown up in the back?
  17. First FG, Dolphins get the ball at their own 40, go on a 10 play drive (in which they D gave up plays of 20 and 19 yards--the latter on a 3rd and 19). kikced a 40 yard FGH. Second FG (after Josh INT), the Dolphins began at the Bills 48. They would get 2 more 1st downs and 18 more yards on 8 more plays to get to the 30---and it was still a 48 yard FG. Third FG FG, after a Bills punt, Dolphins return it 50 yards to the Bills 27. Despite moving back to the 32 on a penalty (would have been a 50 yards FG), the Bills gave up a 13 yards pass play to Hill. Now it was a 37 yard FG
  18. I acknowledged that error (24 not 31). see above Defenses are still allowed to force 3 and outs in their own half of the field
  19. Thanks for documenting my posts (you decided to leave out "Josh was sloppy") I didn't say that the blame was "solely on the Defense". That was a fabrication you attributed to me.
  20. whether you drive 70 yards and kick a FG or 30 yards, why would it matter? Why would that Miami Offense yesterday be expected to have scored more TDs on those short fields than they did?
