Foles is a journeyman QB for a reason . Saving a team from losing agains the choke master Falcons isn’t exactly saying much I’ll give him his Super Bowl run and MVP . But most of the success of the Eagles that season was with Wentz who was in the running for MVP before he got injured. During that almost NFC championship run you speak of , Foles didn’t actually play well. He was saved by a Parkey double doink from exiting early .

They should be . During their superbowl years, they had the number 1 defense based on yards allowed. Their offense was more middle of the pack .

I remember the Vikings win being fun for a number of reasons. One of the posters here even had a thread about betting 5k on the Vikings and not telling his wife about it.... I do not consider the Rams to be an elite team at this point . They struggled last year and had a 9-7 record. Goff is heavily reliant on play action and does not tend to do well as a pure pocket passer.

The 49ers have significant talent on both sides of ball as evidenced by Superbowl run last year. However, I believe that they are being held back by a very limited QB in Jimmy Garoppolo who cannot make enough plays to overcome situations where game is close or there is not a huge talent differential. This is certainly a very different situation from few seasons ago when lots of folks were ready to anoint Garoppolo as the next elite QB. Thoughts on where the 49ers should be going with QB ? You can only retain so much talent for so long and windows close quickly.

Yes. A number of posters cite that snow game where Peterman completed something like 50% of his passes (granted they were to Bills receivers only) as a "good" game and proof of future potential.

Peterman just needs a few more seasons to perfect his craft and improve his arm.
