  1. December 18, 2000|By ALAN GREENBERG; Courant Staff Writer ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. With all flights canceled and the Buffalo airport already closed, the Patriots and Bills were two bad teams going nowhere Sunday, both literally and figuratively. They played in a snowstorm that turned vicious in the second half -- with swirling winds gusting up to 50 mph and the artificial turf beneath their frozen feet as slick as a skating rink. ``Worst conditions I've ever played in,'' said Patriots punter Lee Johnson, a 16-year NFL veteran, a view echoed by players on both teams. http://articles.courant.com/2000-12-18/sports/0012180702_1_patriots-rob-johnson-bills I was at this game, I was sitting in the red club seats, the highest row, which was under cover of upper deck. snow was going sideways and hitting me in face.
  2. The NFL is giving something away for free. Tickets for Monday night's game between the New York Jets and Buffalo Bills that was moved to Detroit are free and available first to season-ticket holders beginning Friday, and then to the general public starting Saturday on the Detroit Lions' website. Tickets also can be claimed at Ford Field on Sunday and Monday prior to the 7 p.m. ET game. All of the tickets are general admission seating, so first come, first serve. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/11915388/tickets-new-york-jets-buffalo-bills-game-detroit-free
  3. Commissioner Roger Goodell will not handle the appeal of Adrian Peterson’s rest-of-season suspension. Jay Glazer of FOX Sports reports that Goodell has delegated the appeal to Harold Henderson, a former NFL executive who routinely resolves appeals under the league’s substance-abuse, PED, and personal conduct policies. Most recently, Henderson handled the appeal of Browns receiver Josh Gordon’s full-season suspension, upholding the banishment before a revised substance-abuse policy reduced the penalty to 10 games http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/11/21/goodell-delegates-peterson-appeal-to-harold-henderson/
  4. hopefully they don't move it to Cleveland....even though that would be a short distance away and convienant for many a bills fan, it would be a bit unfair with crowd noise.
  5. umm...this is not "dry" ice
  6. freeze, thaw, freeze, thaw, freeze.
  7. the Cleveland game will NOT be played at the ralph. again, there will be no security and limited dump trucks to remove snow from the ralph until all streets have been cleared.
  8. It may not be only this weekend's game that is affected by the storm. Brandon left open the possibility that The Ralph wouldn't be ready Nov. 30 when the Bills are scheduled to host the Cleveland Browns. It's going to be a full-on effort by our stadium operations crew and everyone involved here at One Bills Drive to get the facility ready for next week, he said. There's an enormous amount of snow to be removed and there's a lot of work to be done. It's also possible the Bills could be forced to move their entire operations next week to a facility where they could practice. That's something that's also in play, Brandon said. Not only with preparation for this game and playing this game, but obviously what may be in play for next week. That could be a potential to go off site and practice somewhere if our facility is just not operational. http://www.buffalonews.com/sports/bills-nfl/nfl-bumps-bills-game-to-monday-night-in-detroit-20141120
  9. it is very likely the ralph will not be ready for next sundays cleveland game The Buffalo Bills Stadium Is Buried In 6 Feet Of Snow — And It Might Be Weeks Before They Can Play NFL Games There http://finance.yahoo.com/news/buffalo-bills-stadium-buried-6-143453695.html
  10. everyone is made whole, sellers and buyers. the only potential losers are those who purchased your tix from an unauthorized source (Fans who purchased tickets from a source other than the Bills or Ticketmaster must contact that specific source for a refund. The Bills are not responsible for refunds to purchasers of tickets through other sources.) technically, those who sold tix through the nfl ticket exchange would lose any profit they thought they made.
  11. public safety trumps entertainment. 13 deaths and probably more to come. hundreds of medical emergencies, meals on wheels issues for the elderly, etc....
  12. too short of notice to install NFL turf (diff vs Canadian)
  13. rogers centre is out because too short of notice to put in the nfl field turf (diff vs Canadian).
  14. boom now, will they be ready for Cleveland ?
  15. Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter · 14m 14 minutes ago Forget about Sun in Buffalo. Bills “will be hard pressed to get stadium ready for the next home game (Sun. Nov. 30 vs Browns)", per source. Bills coaches are preparing with the belief that the game vs. Jets will be moved to Monday night in Detroit, Pittsburgh or Washington.
  16. Kraig Urbik ✔ @kraigurbik Follow Any chance my street gets plowed today? Or are we stuck here till Saturday? http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/11908094/new-york-governor-andrew-cuomo-says-new-york-jets-buffalo-bills-game-impractical
  17. snowmobiles will be needed just to get some players.
  18. polancarz just announced he can not commit deputies for sundays game. this game is NOT getting played at the ralph anytime soon. it's going to another venue.
  19. 5 feet = 15 days starting to think green bay now. seriously, I doubt the ralph can be ready by even this Tuesday. this jets game gets moved to another venue. at best they can clear the field for players only. the stands and parking forget about it.
  20. if only we could put EJ's lower body together with Ortons upper body. Orton is the least mobile QB in the league right now.
  21. the jets will keep geno and draft a qb #1 in upcoming draft.
