I am not as concerned about 3 MVPs before a SB, that is taking into account playoff performance which the MVP is not based on. But if they vote for a QB whose team was not a top 2 seed, that is quite a change from previous votes.
-
I would not be upset if Baltimore lost in the wild card round at all. But at this point I kind of want to see Baltimore come to Buffalo just to shut up Ravens fans (to some extent, they will still find some excuses if they lose).

Thanks for the link, it was a good review. I really liked the stat about 39% of Ravens WRs being wide open within seconds of the snap on throws, far and away the most in the league. The stats really are so close, with Lamar barely ahead. But if you watch the games, it does seem like Allen made more of the big-time throws in important games. And it is hard to see voting going against what it has been for the past decade or more, the best QB on a top 2 seed wins the MVP.

The one he is talking about at the end is The Athletic. It is the second article from them that was touting Lamar.
-
Interesting. Is that like a one game anomaly, or has it been a greater sample size? Cause the passing % was going up until -7, strange that it is so much lower at -14.
-
I found it, it is points per drive. It would be cool to know it before that game, but the award is announced the day before the Super Bowl.
-
Yeah, Lamar has 2 less INts, but 3 more lost fumbles (and 5 more total fumbles) than Josh this year.
-
What was the stat that the Bills are second all-time in to the 2008 Patriots at like 3.12 yards? I thought it was yards per play, but I guess that is not it.

The Athletic just released an article with all of their end of season awards and they gave the Lamar the MVP. I refuse to believe it will actually happen, but what a slap in the face if it does. Maybe they can stop making Offensive Player of the year award the best non-QB for this year and throw that to Lamar. He has great stats, but Josh is definitely the most valuable to his team. I don’t see that happening after Barkley breaks the rushing record this week though.

Besides showcasing Lamar against the awful Browns in a national game. It is unfair to not have the Steelers and Ravens games at the same time in Sunday. Big benefit to Pitt who could choose to rest their starters (they might want to still play them to get Houston first round) and Cinci if Pitt does rest their starters.

Ravens/Texans, Christmas Day Game 2 (no Bills talk please)

Looks like the Bills will see Baltimore in the divisional round unfortunately. I don’t see the Ravens losing at home to the Browns. -
Allen will still be the sizeable favorite, slightly less than before.

Josh Allen AFC Offensive POW Again (Week 15)!

POW. But will be POY in time. I am sure the Lamar fanboys will be whining about this one. -
12/15/24 Week 15 Bills @ Lions Game Post Game Thread
Stretch replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think Vegas must think Mahomes is out next week. Houston -2.5 on the road -
Thank you, someone else noticed this

Why did the Lions start with the ball in the 20 and not the 14 after the misses 24 yard FG?
-
I’ve heard a lot about the entire Lions defense being hurt last week. I haven’t heard anything about who/how many starters are expected back this week. Does anyone know?
-
Goff is more mistake prone than Stafford. I think our takeaways could be back this week and that will be needed.
-
I don’t get the complete doom and gloom about losing the 1 seed. The Bills just now have to win next week. Tough job, but they have the talent to do it. And KC can lose every single week they play. I know it hasn’t happened yet, but it still just as likely.

The missed false start was more obvious, but the non call of OPI (too early) as well as the hold on Kupp was worse in their TD. -

They got some bad calls against them in the first half. But it more than evened out in the 2nd, especially in the critical points down the stretch -

What was the stat with the Rams when up by 7 or more at half? -
The #1 seed being almost double the next highest % seems pretty damn worth it to me.

I can appreciate McD’s overall culture building and his ability to keep the defense performing well even with injuries. I will never forgive him for costing the Bills a likely Super Bowl with 13 seconds. But I am willing to keep giving him a chance to prove he can get it done in the postseason. I have been pleasantly surprised by his change in being ultra conservative in 4th down situations to one of the more riskier and analytics based decisions in the league. I am hoping he can also change from some of his conservative defensive approaches in the playoffs that have cost the team in the past.
