Things change. I have been in Larkspur, CA (right next to San Quentin) and saw the area where Dirty Harry jumps onto the school bus and then tracks down Scorpio ("....well, do ya, ..Punk?") . The trestle he jumped from is still there, but the area over the street is gone because a truck hit it in the past. The quarry he was chasing Scorpio around is now apartments, condos, and townhouses.

Most did learn English. My maternal grandfather came over from Poland in his early 20s (sometime about 1910). He knew only a few words of English when he got here. He taught himself as there were no classes to teach you, no talking movies, TV or radio (none had been invented yet). He read the paper and talked to people. He said that if you ome here you better learn the language. They stopped speaking Polish at home when my mom and the other eight kids kept bugging them to. The only time I heard Polish from him was when they were talking gossip in front of us grandkids.

Where the hell is this gubmint $ going to come from? I live in a well to do town and I watched Tuesday's Council meeting on public access. They spent the whole meeting talking about what they are cutting this year because of the economy. Also, if some of these houses become meth labs, do you know what has to be done? The entire interior is gutted or it is torn down
