  1. 12.5 billion a year deficit? They're pilkers compared to California.
  2. This entire mess needs to be repealed. What should have been and should be done is to hold hearings on each separate part and pass the ones that make fiscal and general sense. The first part changed should be tort reform. Instead we got "We need to pass this bill to see what is in it".
  3. Al reminds me of Goldmember. I was waiting for him to pick some skin off and eat it.
  4. <pbills>Because you aren't bowing down to Obama and the left<pbills>
  5. The A-hole we have as a president had t-shirts handed out at the memorial service. Was it a memorial service or a political rally?? I saw photos of it and Giffords' husband (the astronaut) looked VERY pissed at Obama.
  6. You are obviously young. You pee more, especially at night, as you get older.
  7. I agree. When I was at a startup, the strangest person being interviewed looked the most normal. The CEO walked him out to his car to make sure he got off the property.
  8. Blaming anybody except the psycho who did it is the same as blaming the Beach Boys and Terry Melcher for Manson and the Tate-La Bianca murders.
  9. Last post reminded me I met Greg Gumbel. I lived in Bristol. CT from 1992-1995, about a quarter mile from ESPN (could see it if I went to the sidewalk). There was a McD's right across the street from ESPN. NBC had just lost football and I guess Greg Gumbel had come by looking for a job. He walked into the McD's as I was walking out. In 2000 I weht to a convention in LA. I had to stay at the Beverly Hilton, where they have the Golden Globes (not as fancy as you would think). Coming back from dinner, I see a bunch of paparazzi in the lobby. I found out it was the ASCAP Pop music writers awards. It was almost started, when a guy in a cowboy hat and a beautiful blond walk in. I asked who was the country singer and someone told me it was Jewel and her boyfriend who is a Pro Rodeo rider. They both were about my size (5' 4"). Don't know how they don't get blinded by all the flashes.
  10. Which politician is having a fundraiser? When he came to the SF area last year, he threw in a speech at a factory so that Pelosi and Boxer didn't have to pay for the trip. He spoke at Solyndra, which makes solar panels. The company got a HALF BILLION federal loan and built a second plant a door away from their current one (an old Maxtor HD plant they totally refurbished). When he came they told all the non office employees and most of the construction crew to stay home WITHOUT PAY. A few months later, they laid off 130 people, said they wouldn't hire the 1000 new employees they planned and would move everything to the new plant. They also cancelled a planned IPO. Hope this stuff doesn't happen to GE Schenectady.
  11. In the 80s, I had gone drinking at Melanie's, probably to see Valby. Stopped at the Mighty Taco on Transit near the Thruway about 1:30-2 AM to grab a couple of burritos. Sabres had played in Montreal that night.Walk in and see Mike Ramsey, Jon Van Boxmeer and Tony McKegney in line ahead of me. Nodded, letting them know I knew who they were. Another guy, pretty drunk notices McKegney and Van Boxmeer and makes a scene. Ramsey was sitting waiting for his food and was laughing his ass off. Was in the Pentacle in Depew in the early 90s. Biscuit walked in. His shoulders were about twice as wide as his waist. Didn't happen to me, but someone I know saw Tony Green, Danny Gare, and Randy Smith in 4 Stallions in Cheektowaga at the same time. Was in 1974 and all three lived in the Williamstown Apartments next door to the bar at the time.
  12. It's January 5th.
  13. Nobody yet has said that one they like is John Valby's version of "The Twelve Days of Christmas", especially seeing it live.
  14. I wish I was that young and in that great of shape.
  15. He hasn't aged a day since 1980.
  16. The screams will be hard all the way to NYC/
  17. Read the comments. it is amazing how stupid people are. All the correct info is available.
  18. The Palin haters keep talking about checking what is downrange. They are in the middle of nowhere. They had to take a plane to their campsite and then they hiked about 4 miles more to the caribou. There is nothing around. That was obvious if you watched the show.
  19. That was September 30, 1990.I was at the game. I remember the date because my dad died the next day.
  20. birdog, You obviously didn't watch the show. They had to get flown out to where they set up camp. Then they walked about 4 miles to where the caribou were. There was nothing around for miles and miles.
  21. The guy "levitating"- the staff is a pipe that goes up his sleeve, and down his side to the platform he is sitting on.
  22. It's Alaska, about 1/3 the size of the lower 48. These caribou have probably never seen a human before. Superimpose Alaska on the lower 48 - the panhandle is by upper Florida, Pt. Barrow is up in ND, and the Aleutian chain stretches to California.
  23. My brother lives in West Seneca. His dog got out and disappeared. He was found 10 days later near Versailles Plank Road in Evans. Followed the tracks and the person who found him saw him munching on a wild turkey he killed. Was Ok- passed the bones ok. My graduate advisor's cat disappeared. He thought it was dead. It walked into a house down the street when people were moving out. It got locked inside for several days and when the new people moved in, they found him. Don't give up hope.
