The state didn't pass a 1 percent continuation of the sales tax, so it dropped today. This is their attempt to get that $. Mine went from 10 percent to 9 percent. Also hidden in the budget that only dems voted for are various raids on county and city funds. The cries for recall will be starting on a local level soon.

We'll take Alaska and Texas. With all that oil, the right can buy the rest of the states.

At about 2 AM(when the bars close in CA) on Jan1, 2009, the Bart cops ,which have all the powers of any other cops, got a call of a fight on a BART train. At the station, they pull off the troublemakers and on the platform they are getting them cuffed. They tell Oscar Grant to comply and he doesn't. The cop was going to taser him and accidentally grabbed his gun and killed him. It was being filmed by people cell phones and you can see that the cop has a shocked look on his face. It was an accident. Grant's family wanted him tried for first degree murder. They protested every day in front of the court building because the charges were manslaughter. They protested because they said it was taking so long. They wanted him tried immediately. Then they protested because the venue was changed to SoCal because their protesting gave it too much publicity in Oakland. When the cop got convicted , the family held a peaceful protest because it was involuntary manslaughter. After the protest ended, anarchists ( bandanna clad white kids) led a riot where Foot locker etc were looted. I noticed they skipped over the "Oaksterdam University" "medical pot" club. Then when he was sentenced to two years, the anarchists started another riot, but the cops were ready. Sunday there was a protest, but no problems.

Read up on stuff that happened before you were born. Some of us are old enough to have already been adults when Carter was president. I voted for Ford.

In my town, they took two underpasses under the interstate and made some nice murals. One is modern people looking through windows at scenes of the Ohlone indians, Mexicans and Irish that settled the area. The other is the Ohlone indians, Mexicans and Irish looking at modern scenes of the town. They put an anti-grafitti coating on them and have had no problems in almost 10 years. They even painted the sides. One has someone I know and her two kids pointing to the artists finishing up the work. The woman worked at the Safeway next to the interstate and gave them coffee. On the other side is what looks like a large round access port that appears ajar. These artists have done a few other underpasses in other towns in the area
