  1. More press distortion. The comments she made were to a student that asked what should Muslims who are on the no fly list do. Just like the "so called " racial and sexual slurs supposedly yelled at Barney Frank and the black congressman the other day. There are 3 or 4 videos of their walk and NONE have any slurs on them. You can bet if there were slurs, they would be played over and over.
  2. Last time I saw a real life male lion (at the SD Zoo), he was trying to hump another male lion.
  3. Tomorrow, I see the stock market falling several hundred points. Wait till the supporters of this start having their taxes raised for several years and then realize none of the "benefits" go into effect until 2013 at the earliest.
  4. The constitution says that they have to count the population every 10 years. Nothing else. That is all the info they need. They don't need sex, name, etc.
  5. FEMA is selling trailers from Katrina for cheap. Patterson should buy those.
  6. He's 0 for 3 so far, so smart dems shouldn't want him to campain for them.
  7. In a town near me (Concord, CA) they busted an escort service that operated out of a townhouse that was located across the street from the police station!
  8. Eep Ook Ork Ah Ah!!!!
  9. Why is there a !@#$ing Department of Education in the first place?
  10. Compared to the lack of advertisers that Err America had. I guess stealing from kids only lasts so long.
  11. One of the teachers at my high school had narcolepsy and would fall asleep in the middle of class at his desk ( and one time leaning in the doorway to the room. They couldn't get rid of him because of tenure. He finally retired when he had a heart attack. I know two mail carriers. They would love having no Saturday delivery because thay would have every weekend off instead of Sundays and a rotating second day off.
  12. 100% Polish. My maternal grandfather came over before WWI.
  13. Journalism financed by the government is propaganda.
  14. There are hundreds of small quakes in California alone every week.
  15. As it said in one of the comments. Mythbusters showed that this doesn't happen.
  16. If you're a Canadian, you don't tip at all!
  17. There were more, but you lost your avatar privliges.
  18. Geocaching
  19. I am about 15 miles inland from SF Bay and at 300 ft altitude. There are "hills" visible from here that are >3000 ft and a ridge I can see out my window that is 1000 ft. The ridge had a dusting on it once this year that melted about 2 hrs after sunrise and the peaks get snow several times a winter.
  20. Your from SD. How is a plane supposed to land there if this was in effect? (There's a parking ramp just before the runway that looks like you are about 50 feet above it).
  21. Also, when its >100 degrees every day for several weeks in July, everyone stays in. Chef Jim lives right in SF where it can be 30-40 degrees cooler than where I do (30 miles away).
  22. I use a handheld GPS for geocaching. Magellans were about the equal of Garmins, but I have heard they stink now. The car ones (Nuvi, etc) are not that good for hiking and geocaching, but are fine for car navigation. Garmin is pretty good with fixing them. I have heard of people sending them in over a year after the warranty had expired and getting a refurbished unit in return. The handheld ones are sturdy. I have a a 6.5 year old Venture. The printing on it worn off and some of the rubber is worn off. Last week I dropped it on a stump and cracked the screen, but it still works.
  23. It was 70 yesterday and 73 today up in NorCal.
  24. Until you feel your first quake nearby.
  25. Yes it is. Flu viruses have RNA instead of DNA as their genetic material. There are no proofreading enzymes for RNA synthesis, so there are are a lot more mutations occurring. The strain determination is based on the proteins the virus incorporated into its coat. The social health practices could limit the spread of the virus. We now have vaccines which weren't around in 1918. That's why the push to get immunized occurred. On the other hand, the ability to travel halfway around the earth in a day could help spread it much quicker today.
