Had a girlfriend that I hadn't spoken to in about 2 years. A few days before my stroke, I went to a picnic that had mutual friends at it (she wasn't there). After I went home, I learned (after my stroke) that the mutual friends were saying that I was sick and needed to see a doctor. The friends called her and had her call me up. She talked to me for several hours and convinced me to go to the hospital. I did the next day, was admitted, and had a stroke the day after that. Since I had no relatives in California, I moved back to WNY, She did see me in the hospitall, and since (5 years next month) we converse about once a week on the phone.
