  1. After next year's 6-7 draft picks in the first 3 rounds and all the cap money we will have to reshape this roster in McD/Beane's vision of this team, then you will see a more talented team.
  2. I just don't buy the notion that Bowles is in on the tanking theory. He'd have to be in on it which implies that they are committing to at least another 4 more years to him. I don't see that as being the case. Odds are this is his last year with the team.
  3. Nice watching and reading that. Players are buying in.
  4. But their defense looked great.
  5. I wonder how many yards rushing we had against the jets last year in both games. Surely it was about as many as today, right?
  6. Under normal circumstances I believe they would be but since they are both linked to the departures of Watkins and the legendary JAG Jwill, they will be viewed with skepticism from a portion of the fanbase.
  7. To be honest, I really don't know. I know as a team we were super stout against the run and I'm sure he had something to do with that. Having said that I rarely heard a peep from him and for the sort of money we are paying him you'd hope he would be a disruptor as opposed to a space eater. But I'm happy with the unit against the run.
  8. McCoy felt his coach deserved much of the credit, "Coach McDermott deserved the game ball. Best thing about him is his leadership."
  9. Who cares about Watkins? He isn't on this team any longer, Matthews is. And Matthews for not playing a single pre season game was a valuable member of our team today. He got a key third down reception and he had a key block to spring McCoy for an additional 10 yards which in that drive we ended up scoring a touchdown. Then he got that really nice long play, which also led to another T.D. You guys gotta get over Watkins, he's no longer here and he will never play for this team again. Go Bills!
  10. And what about all the new guys? White, Gaines, Poyer, Mica, Tolbert and Matthews? Nice to see these offseason moves, draft picks and trades play well
  11. Humber definitely played well. So did Kyle Williams. Gaines was solid and so was the rookie White. Secondary looking pretty good
  12. Poyer on defense, McCoy on offense and a good disciplined game so gotta give McD some props as well.
  13. So far all McD/Beane picks are contributing nicely this game. Gaines has been in position, Tolbert with nice runs and a nice catch. Matthews with a key third down reception and key block!
  14. He did look really good. If everyone declares I think we could see 5 1st round QB's
  15. Pfff what a bunch of tio Tom's.
  16. I'm totally pumped for the new season. New players, new coach, new culture. This is the beginning of our quest to relevance. We won't get their overnight but we are headed there!
  17. If I had to guess what will end up happening is that they will make the evaluation at the end of the season and/or off-season and determine if he's still playing at a quality level and if so, they'll pay him his due. He's part of the culture building they are trying to instill and even though he isn't part of their long term plans he is valuable not just for his quality of play but for what McD has been preaching
  18. Technically speaking you very well may be right.
  19. Oh, so Boston sportswriters who disagree with you don't understand basic defensive concepts? Hmmm. Sounds reasonable. And to your second point, I'm very glad that you brought that up. I would recommend for everyone to take a look at the video again. GoBills808 makes the point that since Butler played it the same way which was letting his man go down the field that it was OK that Gilmore did as well. Here's the difference. I want people to freeze frame it at the 30 second point. What direction is McCourty looking and running towards? Is McCourty playing the seam or backside help for Gilmore? And where is the other safety looking that has Butler's backside help? The answer is that McCourty is running full speed towards the seam with no intention of providing support to Gilmore AND Gilmore sees this. Whereas the safety on Butler's side is in position to provide cover to Butler's man. Now look at the 41 and 42 second mark, you can see that Gilmore is looking towards the safety and then immediately at the 43 second mark he looks back at the QB. And it's at that 43 second mark Gilmore begins to slow down. He just got done looking at the Safety at the 41 and 42 second mark, there is no way that he could have concluded that he had backside safety help from McCourty. So the difference between Butler's situation and Gilmore's is a night and day difference.
  20. I'm purely basing it off of the comments from Culley
  21. You would think that Republicans and Trump would use Antifa as a wedge issue against Democrats. Make them publicly own or disown them. Then again, I've proven to be one of the worst political prognosticators this board has ever seen, so what do I know?
  22. Probably, but that's when Peterman would step in. I don't want to presume too much into their line of thinking but based off of what I just read up there that certainly seems to be the plan, doesn't it?
  23. Storm's projected path keeps shifting westward. Initially it was suppose to go up the Atlantic coast of Florida, which is where I live Melbourne, FL. As a result I got my wife and 2 kids to go up to SC to get out of storms path. She wasn't happy about that but I figured it was best and I decided to stay. Of course, now the storm's projected path keeps moving westward and appears that we won't get it too bad and that it could hit Tampa. The only saving grace for us Floridians is that it comes at Cuba's expense is that the storm has seemed to slow down 30 mph or so because of going over parts of Florida. But as soon as it makes its upward move it will go right back into those 89 - 90 degree waters. Hopefully it won't strengthen too much.
  24. Sounds to me that they plan on letting TT take off and run a lot. I think that makes sense.
  25. Love these vids you make, I appreciate the time you put into them to share with everyone. The kid is an absolute beast of a run blocker but he sure does look awkward with that vertical drop kick deal he does. I think you are right, it's a matter of muscle memory and the only way to work through that is repetition repetition and more repetition. I'm guessing it's only a matter of time before he becomes a starter.
