  1. Actually there is some crow that I should be eating as well. Going into the season I thought that the secondary was going to be a weakness, I will happily eat some crow on that one.
  2. Depends how much he's looking for. If he thinks he should be paid as a top 10 sort of guy then you gotta let him walk. What the Bills should do is approach him now and offer him a good 5 year $35 M with $20 M guaranteed sort of contract. Watkins was let go because he would have demanded top 3 WR money and frankly he has not shown that he deserves that sort of money. So the Bills made the correct choice and got a quality starting DB, a 2nd round pick and saved themselves about $7-10M a year that they can use to continue to build and add more pieces to this team.
  3. You can't. No team in their right mind would eat that contract the way he's been playing combined with his off-the-field issues.
  4. Of course this defense is better when he is on the field with his head on straight. But make no mistake, he's been a colossal bust since his big contract. He has been nowhere near worth what he is being paid and has been a huge disappointment. Because of his ridiculous contract (Thanks Whaley) he is stuck with us for the next couple years, I think. Hopefully the old Dareus that we knew comes back because if he does, then this defense will be elite.
  5. For the past decade it seemed like every time we were in a close game the adjustments that were made from the opposing coaches and coordinators would always out coach our staff. So far through three games, we've made the adjustments and have played better in the second half than each of our first halves. Obviously the defensive coaches and players have been lights out, but with the limited explosive weapons we have and struggles with our line I think Rico had a really good game plan and made good adjustments in the second half.
  6. They got him with a couple plays but even on that deep pass where he blew coverage he still had the athletic ability and wherewithal to punch the ball out. Aside from a couple of those plays he was a physical beast. Loved how tough and physical he played and showed great ability to play close to his man. Love this draft choice! He's quickly becoming one of my favorite players.
  7. No, it wasn't. EJ Gaines has been more valuable to us than Watkins has been for the Rams. So we get a quality starting DB, We get a 2nd round choice and we have an extra $10M a year moving forward to continue to build on this team.
  8. I have no inside information or any knowledge of what transpired on draft day, but if I were a betting man I would venture to guess that McD made the choice and a great choice it was.
  9. We are going to have to put up at least 25 points to have any shot at winning. Atlanta's offense is elite.
  10. I'm sure the pressure had nothing to do with it
  11. I've seen enough from him to determine he will be a quality player under this system. Hopefully they can try to lock him up this year for something around a 5 year $35m with $20m guaranteed. If we could so that it would be a phenomenal deal for us.
  12. It's crazy that McD and the coaching staff isn't being mentioned all that much. They definitely deserve to be mentioned along with Hughes, Alexander, Gaines and White. McCoy deserves to be in there as well as does Matthews and Hauschka
  13. Yes, it was the Senator. I liked that dude, what happened to him?
  14. Yes, and you still can have the belief that although Sammy is a talented player that the Bills FO made a tough decision to part ways with a player they didn't believe was going to be worth the contract he would want and ended up getting excellent value for him.
  15. I'm sure there are a lot of whiny Sammy lovers that don't know who he is either.
  16. It's nice to finally have a coaching staff that knows how to make the adjustments on both the defensive and offensive sides of the ball and out coach our opponents. So far in all three games we have had good defensive efforts but our defense has been even better in the second half as well as our offense. Hopefully it's the beginning of a trend!
  17. I'm sure the even more fabulous play of EJ Gaines and knowing you have a 2nd round pick eases the pain.
  18. There are a lot of so-called experts of this board that should be eating a whole lot of crow. First, Gaines has been more valuable to this team so far this year than what Watkins has been for the Rams. Second, some people here were sure that we would only win a couple more games and gave us no shot at winning against the Broncos, because we lacked "speed and talent" Third, there has been criticism of the coaching and it's clear as day that this is the best coached team we've had in quite some time. Fourth, people have been critical of Beane and the front office this offseason, virtually all of his major moves we've made have been positive contributors to this team. This is what a real football team looks like, not bits and pieces of a team via star power. Can't wait till next year when we have 6 picks in the first three rounds and all that cap room.
  19. I think people would be surprised to know that the U.S is one of the least racially intolerant countries in the world. That racism is not solely from the perspective of Caucasians on other races but from each racial perspective. The best way to address racism over the long-term is not to attempt to prop up one race over historical or perceived current racial injustices but to adopt a more classical Liberal approach which is to go about your life treating everyone the exact same which is based on their own merits and nothing more. This idea to provide a subsect of a population preferential treatment via governmental policy creates racial resentment among large portions of the other subsects of the population that believe they are being disadvantaged by these policies. It creates dislocations and imbalances towards the healing of racial tensions. Treat everyone the same. Yes, it won't be overnight but if more and more people adopt that philosophy it would certainly help us get to where we need to go.
  20. I have stated where I stand on this issue and wish that there would be a bipartisan solution. Having said that, in your own words what does this legislation that they are proposing do? What does it take away? Same questions go for you as well?
  21. This will not end well for the NFL
  22. Trump is a douchenozzle. Not standing up for the Anthem makes you a grievance based misguided douche. But it's well within their right to be a grievance based misguided douche. Those that are offended by the misguided douches need to chill. Who the !@#$ cares??? Stop being a whiny douche. And there are a bunch of oversensitive ninny's here on this board that pull out the race card waaay to easily. It's gotten to the point to where one can make a statement that has no racist intent but references racism and yet charges of racism are screeched among the peanut gallery. Which makes you douches as well.
  23. So what injustice occurred to Bennett?
  24. Trump purposely made that divisive comment and it certainly wasn't an off-the-cuff statement. It was a political move that plays to his base and to be honest with you probably plays well with others as well. People by and large are not supportive of professional athletes not standing for the Anthem. They believe that this country afforded them the opportunity that they have and they are disrespecting the country and for those that fought for it. With that said, I completely disagree with what Trump said, it was divisive and ignores the sentiment of our first amendment rights. However this is not a fight that the NFL wants to have. They will lose this battle. They are already in a ratings decline, there is clear evidence through a propendrance of polling data that shows that Kap and others are part of the reason of the decline and the NFL taking a stand potentially could and most likely inflame part of his base which would hurt ratings even more so. I understand that the NFL was put into a difficult position by Trump because they felt the need to protect their product but nothing good will come out of this.
  25. There is no way that the CBO, Brookings institute or any organization that could possibly come close to even approaching the effects of the bill. Why? Because every single state would have the option to craft their own healthcare system which would include the distribution of assistance to help pay for the plans, forms of pre ex coverage, regulations, plan type limitations etc etc. Meaning if California or any other state still wanted to impose a statewide mandate to have coverage they could do so. If they still wanted all the paternalistic essential minimum benefits they could do so. If states love most of the ACA regulations and main tenets of the law they have the choice to do so. The only thing that would change is the funding. Some states would lose funding others would gain. Under the ACA funding for Medicaid is open ended. Meaning that there are no limitations to how many people you can enroll as long as they financially qualify. Under this proposal, they cap it. Their formulary begins above the baseline of pre ACA plus the continues to rise based off an inflationary gauge they would implement. Overall there would be approximately a 6-7% reduction over the next decade. Take out California, MA and NY and funding levels for the rest of the state's in its totality would remain the same. So for all those states that want to lower or maintain the income threshold of ACA for medicaid they Could do so, just that they would have to foot the bill for part of the expansion of their Medicaid program. No one knows **** about this and they are making all these assumptions without any knowledge. Ignorance
