  1. I think the biggest thing where he can improve on is the pre snap read. If you get your read right then it helps to compartmentalize what you are looking at. I know this sounds nit picky but on that play there were only 2 possible threats to Clay, the LB that was covering him and #33. He looks out to the left to Zay, he can see that the DB on him is in zone and #33 is drifting that direction, at that point you'd hope that TT would immediately recognize that #33 is taking himself out of the play in the middle of the field and that Clay now has one on one coverage with a LB, who subsequently would be entering into that wide open space of the middle of the field. From there you'd hope he'd look back to Clay as soon as he sees #33 drifting away and find Clay for an easy TD. I know, sounds like nitpicking, but I do believe that if he had a better pre snap read he'd have recognized that. Doesn't matter now, hopefully that's something he'll get better at recognizing. Still, all in all he played a good solid game.
  2. You definitely want Clay making that catch, it's what you would expect out of your high dollar TE. You want him to go up and pluck it out of the air with ease while shrugging off that contested defender, no doubt about it.
  3. Yes, I do think Clay should have made the catch but I also believe that there was a missed opportunity to throw the ball earlier to Clay. Listen, I'm by no stretch of the imagination a TT hater or critic, I happen to believe he is a good enough QB to take us to the playoffs with a solid defense and ground game, and I also believe he had a decent to good game. From a 1 to 10 I'd have given him a solid 7.5. But since we are discussing this play, I believe the biggest error was not reading that Clay had one on one coverage vs a LB and that he had an unevaded path to where his break was to be and where the ball should have been. 33 was the only true risk to Clay but he had drifted towards Zay and away from Clay and the center of field early on and by the time TT started setting his sights on Clay, it allowed him to get back into the play forcing TT to not throw the ball out in front to avoid 33. I think that's why the ball was thrown behind to avoid 33.
  4. It's not the throw that is the criticism it's when he threw it.
  5. I mentioned it at least a few times how the biggest mistake on that interception wasnt the placement of the throw Or the non catch by Clay rather the timing of TT's throw. If TT had made the right read and threw it on time which would have been when Clay made his break it would have been an easy touchdown
  6. It was a good regular season win against an NFL team.
  7. His post count has nothing to do with his knowledge of football.
  8. When has Dareus not looked plump?
  9. yep, He's a keeper. I dont want to jinx it but he looks like he has another three good years left in the tank.
  10. I largely agree pretty much if everything you said here.
  11. I'm not a TT critic, I think he's good enough to take us to the playoffs with a top 8 defense and top 5 rushing team. Just that on that play he should have thrown it to Clay half a second earlier as he was making his break. Or if he had spotted Zay it would have been a wide open TD at the back of the end zone. Also I'd like to note that overall I thought TT played well
  12. if TT had thrown it to Clay as soon as he made his break it would have been a TD
  13. There is a new angle that was just posted in another thread. The infamous "whose fault was it?" Clay or TT. It's clear now that TT had Clay for an easy TD had he thrown it to Clay as soon as he broke on the route. TT was half a second too slow on delivering that ball. Also on the very same play Zay is wide open for an easy TD throw, he was essentially right behind Clay
  14. You're right. Wide open easy TD. And the throw to Clay had to come out just a quarter to half a second sooner
  15. If we can stuff their run consistently and make them a one dimensional team, and force them to put the offense on Cam's shoulders then I think we have a decent shot at winning. If they run the ball effectively then I think we are in for a long afternoon
  16. Good potentially solid moves. Hope it pans out
  17. I don't think they'd look to trade TY. They have a bonfide franchise qb, doubt they'd look to trade him
  18. If you are asking me would I rather have TY Hilton at $11m a year with 3 years left on his contract with his history of production than Sammy with one year left, with not the same level of production at what surely is going to command $15m + All day every day. I would trade a 2nd and a 4th for him
  19. lol
  20. So now we are criticizing potential practice squaders? Not surprising
  21. This is a good point. He over-achieved in college and was a big time producer at LSU and was underestimated by pro scouts hence where he was selected in the draft.
  22. They put in the best gameplay that they thought would work against the Jets. Next week they will put in the best gameplay that they believe will work against Carolina. And it wont be the same because its a different team with different strengths.
  23. Alex Smith is better than TT
  24. We can most certainly be playoff team with him as the QB. If our defense becomes top 10 and with a top 8 rushing team and TT playing as well as he did yesterday, we are a playoff team
