He'd probably be a good #2 for you. He has battled injuries, including chronically injured knees, but he can get open and is a pretty good blocker. As you can see from this thread, he may be available for a reasonable price.

Very difficult to believe that anyone would let a proven OL walk with how scarce they are, so I wonder about Paradis myself. Probably a better chance to get someone like Long who has disappointed and try to turn him around while drafting for the long term.

He has a ring as a DC.

This award should be changed to MVOP, Most Valuable Offensive Player. The Pats defense didn't let the 2nd highest scoring team in the league even get into the red zone, their offense struggled all game and wound up with a grand total of 13 points, and an offensive player wins the MVP? Come on.

Turns out it was Bellichick not Brady!

True. But that was the team that went 16-0 the season before so he had some other talent to work with. -
If only this were true. The usual strategy is to run on 1st down and if you can get some yardage, on second down too. Then decide whether to pass or run on third down based on your situation. I know it’s conservative but you manage the clock the best way you can and you give your OL and RB a chance to win the game for you.

WSJ studies announcer Romo’s play prediction %

Smart guy with experience who understands the game. If he had a little more physical ability (and maybe an Adamantium skeleton) he might have been an all time great. -
It's both laughable and embarrassing that it's so true.

David Culley (former Bills QB coach) gone- to Ravens

I thought that they still had to get permission to interview any assistant that is currently under contract unless it's for a HC position. In fact, I think that they even have to ask for that but the other team can't reasonably withhold permission if it's for HC. -
No doubt. I'm sure Ralph telling him who to start at QB put things on edge and then his insistence on managing his coaching staff pushed him over it. He was right about the ST coach though.
-
Maybe if he would have just fired the worst ST coordinator in history he would have kept his job.

1993 Bills - only team to beat last 3 SB champs?

Win VS Dallas was without Emmitt Smith. As you saw in the Super Bowl, that mattered. -
Was Mark Kelso the Best FS in Bills History?

Freeman or Micah Hyde, that I’ve seen. -
Why do I keep reading/hearing that the Bills "won't draft for need." They are absolutely going to draft for need and have nearly always done that. They have a big list of needs and will take the best player that fills one of those needs- WR, DT, DE, OT, OG. Maybe even TE. They aren't going to take a QB, LB or a safety at #9 even if that's the "best player available." The only time I can remember the Bills drafting a player because they thought he was the BPA without regard for need is when they took CJ Spiller in 2010 when they already had Fred Jackson and Marshawn Lynch on the roster. And frankly, that was idiotic.

Chiefs fire longtime DC Bob Sutton

I can't imagine in a million years that Rex wants to start over as a defensive coordinator and try to work his way back up to HC. -

Yeah, but then we wouldn’t have a border wall on Mexico’s tab. -
The Underappreciated Genius of Chan Gailey
vincec replied to The Frankish Reich's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I liked his personality and he was a very good OC but the defense totally tanked when he was HC and him not giving a rats a$$ about that side of the ball was a major factor, IMO. He was also oddly committed to Fitz when they should have been looking for a franchise QB. -
Bills hire Bobby Johnson as offensive line coach
vincec replied to GimmeSomeProcess's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's hasn't really been McDermott or Frazier's philosophy. Blitzing teams play a lot of man coverage and I think they want to limit that in the secondary. What they need is to get a better pass rush from their front 4 so that they don't have to blitz as often. They only have 1 pass rusher right now and that's not nearly enough. They need a LDE and a DT who can bring it too. -
Would be awesome but they would have to overpay to get him and that doesn’t sound like the “judicious” kind of FA that Beane was talking about. I’m thinking that they are basically going to sign role players and try to get the stars through the draft.

Bills sign OT Jeremiah Sirles to 1 year extension
vincec replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I hope not. He’s the second best lineman on the team and would be an ideal “swing” tackle backup long term, IMO. Sirles certainly didn’t show enough to pencil in as the new starter or even the primary backup without proving it in camp first.
