Bills Worked out Donte Stallworth Today
vincec replied to cmjoyce113's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Who doesn't? -
That is exactly why.
-
And then the following year he went to Minnesota and had an MVP type season and brought them to the brink of the Super Bowl. So I guess that year with the Jets didn't mean what you propose after all.
-
But how many have won championships? (Assuming that's our goal here one day)
-
I could not disagree with you more. Fitz is what he is... a career looser. He is not a rookie. This is his 8th year in the league and 5th as a starter and he has never led a team to a winning record. He's not suddenly going to turn into an elite QB. Newton has much more ability and has the promise of turning into something. Even as he is right now he's probably just as good or better than Fitz.
-
... or to get out the anointing oil. But he sure looks promising. Was this sarcasm? It sounds like you are saying that you would rather have Fitz at QB than Newton.
-
He's not in the league because he doesn't want to be a backup and because everyone wants a young, cheap prospect as their backup not a 41 year old vet. He's obviously not a long term solution, but neither is Fitz. I'm sure he's as good as or better than most backup caliber QBs in he league, Fitz included. Players of his ability don't just forget how to play overnight.

This Board is Educational, Let's Go Buffalo!
vincec replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is it pretty much. Everyone knows that the Bills are going nowhere without strong QB play and I think confidence in Fitz is at an all time low. Even is last weeks win he was really pretty mediocre. IF he can light it up this week then you'll probably see some optimism return. -
I know that this Brett Favre / troll thread has turned into a Flutie bashing thread, but I would just like to say that if Brett Favre is 75% of what he was then he is still better than Fitz. And has just as much of a future as a starting QB.

I'm not sure what world you live in, but someone who makes $465,000 per year is rich. That's 10x what the average american makes by your own data. And comparing fines by using a straight percentage is a false comparison because the impact of a 4.5% fine on someone who makes $465,000 is much less than on someone who makes $46,000. Whey you only have $46k to make it through the year, $2,100 is a big chunk of change but when you have $465k and have to pay $21,000 then you still have $444k to play with, which is still 10x what the average person has.

I didn't know Rene Zellweger was a Raiders fan. Classic. -
Cleveland - assistance coaches - Jauron and Childress

It means that Cleveland will be tough to pass against and very dangerous in the INT department. Bills better find a way to run the ball. -
Has there ever been a 2-0 win in the NFL?

Mr $100 million was much better today
vincec replied to LiterateStylish's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Great. Another intelligent contribution to the board. Thanks for that witty pearl of insight. If you think that Mario was being "double and triple teamed on every play" then show some facts. How many times was he double teamed? How many triple teamed? and out of how many plays. Since I also read on this board that Dareus and K Williams were being double teamed on every play and I saw Chris Kelsay get double teamed on at least two plays, I guess that the Chiefs must have been keeping 8 or 9 men in to block on every play and only sending out 1 WR. Strange, though. It didn't seem that way. Or you could just resort to name calling. -
I don't think this is true. The WRG app was off last last week for much more than just the game so I think it was a glitch and I read somewhere that you CAN get the streaming audio of the games this year and I DID get the streaming audio of this weeks game and post game show on my WRG app.

Finally, someone else who watched the same game as me. -
Buffalo, a team that has not had a winning season in over 10 years, has beaten KC 5 out the last 6 times, by a combined score of 170 to 71. I think that says all you need to know about the Chiefs. It's nice to look good and get in the win column, but let's not get carried away.
-
If your saying that we should continue to buy tickets en masse, averaging $60 each, to watch crappy football, for one of the worst franchises in the NFL, which by all indications will abandon Buffalo in the next few years, or we are poor fans, then I think you are making a very weak argument. And you are the one launching the insults. I understand though, it's the only weapon when there is no rational argument in your favor. If you want to sell a product, then produce something worth buying.

Squeaking out a win tomorrow won't cut it for me

You've got to learn to crawl before you can walk or run. Bills just need to get going in the win column to start getting a modicum of confidence back. -

What inconsistency are you talking about? All the key players on offense played well except for Fitz. Is that not clear enough? -

Then I agree with you, but that's nothing new. QBs have needed mobility since the days of Fran Tarkenton. Even non-mobile QBs need to at least be able to move inside the pocket (like Marino or Manning) to survive. Statues (like Drew Bledsoe) are rarely effective, and never for long. I thought you were talking about QBs running out of the spread offense. -

Fumbles leading to turnovers? Maybe I've blocked it out, but the only fumble by an offensive player was Spillers and I don't see how you can say that HE had a bad game. And the only "confirmed" route running mistake was Nelson's and the reason that pass was picked instead of incomplete is because it was thrown late. On the replays of Fitz's other two ints, the WRs were open and he either threw it late (to Johnson) or under threw them (to Nelson). In fact on several of the missed third downs the receivers were open. He missed a lot of open guys out there so yes, for once I put it 100% on him with regards to the offense. -
Experts - Can Leodis become good?

Go ahead and blame Levy and Jauron, but their pass defenses never looked as bad as the Bills did last week (unless it was against the Patriots) -
Nix and Chan are not on the same page
vincec replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm not a big Gailey fan, but I think Nix knows that he probably only has a year or two left and if he pulls the plug on Gailey and brings in another coaching staff then we'll be back to another "3 year plan". Plus, what top coach is going to take the job with all the uncertainty surrounding the ownership situation? You're very likely to end up with another Gailey.
