  1. The Bills had the money to sign both Levitre and Byrd (and still extend Wood). So, are the Bills a better football team this season without Levitre, with Byrd holding out and with $20m in free money under the cap? Maybe the Bills think that they need the money for next season or the one after that but to me it's unclear as to how they will better spend it or that they didn't have other options to get more money if necessary.
  2. True. This could be the other interpretation of his comments, namely that he doesn't need to look at any film to know that he needs to stay away from Revis.
  3. They aren't going to franchise him next season. It would cost the same as what he's asking for a long term deal and they've already said that they don't want to give him that. Byrd will likely get what he is asking for on the open market and the Bills don't want to pay it so a long term deal is out. He's going to get traded before the start of next season. I would start by asking for a #1 but a #2 or #3 is probably more likely.
  4. A half decade is a very short time frame to be using. You can't even accurately judge the last couple of drafts yet so you are really only choosing between 2 or 3 drafts.
  5. If he's not an upgrade over Duke Williams then the Bills are even worse in the secondary that I imagined.
  6. Is that when he "flips the switch"?
  7. Powell was punting pretty well until they cut his competition. Then it seems like he lost concentration or something. I don't think they'll replace Powell at this stage. If he stinks it up this year then they'll find someone else. You can pick up a decent punter anytime.
  8. I did read the posts. Please try not to be a condescending ass. I know that it probably comes naturally to you but try anyway. I assume by your response that they didn't play special teams in the preseason. Wait, they did. Well then I guess he'll tell him all the trick plays so that NE can spend their ST practice team learning to defend a dozen plays that have a 0.001% chance of being called instead of the things that they have been doing regularly. Right. Or maybe you think he's going to run the Patriot scout team defense? Come on. EVERYONE in the NFL is trying to win the Super Bowl so Belichick is not a genius for wanting to. You can get your head out of his a$$. Your post is honestly ridiculous.
  9. Did anyone pick Butler up? If not, get his butt on the practice squad.
  10. What could Chris White tell them that they can't learn from watching the films of the Bills four preseason games? That's all White knows anyway. He doesn't know the game plan for this week.
  11. Wasn't this the guy that was open even when he was covered?
  12. "We don't know if anyone out there is any good, but we do know that you suck so we're cutting you."
  13. Well since they are $20m+ under the salary cap the answer is self-evident.
  14. Getting Manuel off on the right foot and helping him have a successful season is the most important thing for this year. Everything else is gravy. If he's 100% healthy and gets a full week of preparation then go ahead and start him. Otherwise, don't throw him to the wolves.
  15. This is a false argument. I don't see San Francisco or Seattle, teams stocked with talent, releasing top players to sign other ones. Why not? The Bills are $20m under the salary cap. They had plenty of room to sign Levitre, Byrd AND Spiller next season. Really? Are you going to list Urbik and Pears too? They were re-signed. These guys are not the same as Levitre or Byrd. Those are the guys you CUT to sign top guys like Levitre and Byrd.
  16. Which front office let Levitre go and has Byrd packing his bags?
  17. Chan always could coach offense. It's the rest of what you need to do as a head coach that he failed at.
  18. As long as you are comfortable losing out if anything happens to Manuel then I guess that's OK.
  19. It has to be Legursky or Kolb. Personally, I'd vote for Kolb.
  20. Seems like BS to me. No link was posted and I can't find one anywhere online.
  21. Take if from somebody who watched David Carr during his time in Carolina. He really, really stinks. The Bills would be better of with Leinart or even John Beck. Honestly.
  22. I don't know what the big suspense is. Whoever practices as the #1 QB the week leading up to the Pats game will start. If Manuel is back and 100% I'm sure that this will be him. Otherwise it'll be Tuel (although there will probably still be posters who think it's a ruse and that Manuel will walk out of the tunnel instead).
  23. Something tells me that this won't be a problem.
  24. I'd really like to see those stats and hear your argument because the Bills pass defense got roasted over the last 8 games. It would be very surprising to find that they had a "Revis like" CB in the secondary during that time.
  25. Exactly. You don't run on your hands do you? I think that you are vastly overestimating the talent in the secondary. I would say that the Bills have 1 average starting NFL corner (Gilmore) and the rest of the CB candidates are below average to poor.
