  1. After all the spending and trades- a new HC coach, McCoy, Taylor, Harvin, Incognito, Clay, Roman, Darby, "the new 46 defense", and many other "improvements" and hype- to be sitting at 5-5 just like last season, and to know that they can't beat NE*, just like last season, is pretty deflating. What did all the stuff they did mean?
  2. I know that most people are writing the Pats* game off as a loss, but if they Bills lose to them they will be 5-5 (0.500) through 10 games. That is exactly where they found themselves last season so it will be hard to say that they have many any real improvements even after all the spending. It also means that they will most likely need to go 5-1 the rest of the way to make it into the playoffs, which is pretty unlikely when you've gone 5-5 up to that point. If you're a 0.500 team what are the chances that you're going to go 5-1 in a stretch of 6 games of? In short, I think this is a game that they've got to have to make a statement that this team is better than last season, that they are a playoff team and that they are a threat to not just eek into the playoffs but to make some noise when they get there.
  3. I think the play to Davis was Fitz's choice but the 1 yard passes on 3rd and 4th and 2 with their RB running at will were Chan like head scratchers.
  4. My understanding of the rule is this: If the player goes out of bounds while moving towards his own line of scrimmage, then the ref gives him forward progress to the furthest point upfield which was inbounds and the clock doesn't stop. If the player goes out of bounds going forward, then the out of bounds point is the furthest point upfield and the clock stops.
  5. it. Well, given the amount of press and discussion this has gotten I'd say it's a distraction by definition. They players and coaches are being constantly asked about It. But you can pretend like it's not if you like, just like Rex.
  6. Just another unnecessary distraction. Not what this team needs.
  7. Suh had both hands on him. Watch the video.
  8. The linebackers were emerging stars last season. Now they need to be replaced. Hmm...
  9. I didn't see anything in the article that would lead me to think that. It's classless and if it's "typical Rex" then that doesn't speak well of him. But I guess we stopped caring about class as long as they win.
  10. Miami got shafted in that sequence. Suh should have been credited with a sack, instead they had to take the penalty. Then on the Sammy's TD Miller hog tied him and there was no call.
  11. TBD is going to melt down if Fitz undresses Rex's defense.
  12. This is wrong. if Rex does this then I don't want to hear anymore whining out of him when BB runs up the score in two weeks. Rex's record of sportsmanship would be no better.
  13. Steve Young wasn't all pro with TB but he showed a lot of promise and it was TB after all so once he got away from there he was expected to be good. QB battle quickly developed in SF the day he arrived so Montana certainly knew he was there to threaten him from the onset. It's a tribute to Montana that he kept ahead of him for so long.
  14. In a heart beat. Nance and Simms are the worst. And if their calling a NE game then they're basically like a home broadcast for them.
  15. He launched himself at full speed about a foot off the ground against a guy who was sliding. He saw the guy start to go down and then launched low to make sure he could hit him anyway. The fact that he targeted his head instead of spearing him shows how cheap it was. That was totally intentional otherwise he would've been targeting his legs or torso and gone over him when he slid.
  16. Penalties, missed tackles, confusion/not ready at the snap ... lots of coaching issues still to deal with. They made enough big plays to win today though.
  17. I like Wilcots. He leaves Simms in the dust, that's for sure.
  18. Totally a cheap shot. Launched himself at the head of a sliding QB and knocked him out... cold.
  19. Interesting. I was looking at points per game, which has them at #24 in 2014 and #19 in 2013. Not sure which measuring stick is more accurate, although it's bizarre that you could be # 6 in yards per game but #24 in points per game in the same season.
  20. This is the thing that concerns me. The Jets had defenses ranked in button third of the league his last two seasons there and now the are top ten. I know they added a couple of players but that's pretty big jump. Meanwhile, Rex comes to Buffalo and their previously top 10 defense is now bottom half. What's going on?
  21. Losing to the Bills is inexcusable to most franchises in the NFL.
  22. Awesome. If that doesn't show how sad this franchise has been over the last 15 years then nothing does.
  23. That's right. We just need to be patient. We've waited 15 years, what's another 1 or 2?
  24. Gilmore is good, but I'm pretty sure that the Bills can go 3-4 without him so it's not like he's been a major difference maker. But given Rex's scheme Ithink it's likely that they re-sign him for big money and let front 7 guys walk as their contracts come up. For example, I doubt that Mario or Kyle Williams will get new contracts in Buffalo.
