This is going to work out well for the Bills. Gilmore is going to bomb in his contract year and re-sign with Buffalo for a reasonable price. Then when the Bills bring in a new DC with a modern scheme he will look good again- just as he did under Schwartz. It's all for the best. You'll see.

I'm happy for Fitz because liked him, but the Bills weren't going anywhere with him at QB and the Jets aren't going anywhere with him at QB either. If he finally leads a team to the playoffs it would be the pinnacle of his career. But teams are trying to win a Super Bowl and Fitz is not a Super Bowl winning QB, IMO.

I posted this in the shout box during the game but there was absolutely no disguise of coverages or disruption of WR routes off the line. Fitz dropped back and hit his #1 option as soon as his back foot hit the ground 90% of the time. Ball was out of there in 1 or 2 seconds max. With a short week to prepare, it looked like he had tapped into the Bills play calling frequency and knew the defenses in advance.

Are these the steps in order to tank the rest of the season?

Bills are at home, but missing Glenn and Dareus and with Watkins less than 100% you've probably got to take the Jets. Plus they are due to beat Rex after losing those two close ones last season. It'll be ugly though. These Thursday night games always are. Jets 19 Bills 13.

I commented on this during the game when people kept posting that Roman was an idiot for not calling any deep routes. There are deep routes on almost all passing plays. Either the were always 100% covered or, much more likely, TT is missing open guys in his reads. Now there is some visual evidence. I know it's hard, but these are the plays that you have to make to be a top QB and win.

The Bills can add Spiller and we can have a trio of interchangeable parts.
