Opponents' 3rd and long scare anyone else?

There is a lot of anxiety on this board. Imagine once the playoff start? -
Josh Allen doesn’t like Domed stadium supports open air
bobobonators replied to BuffaloBills1998's topic in The Stadium Wall
In ideal world I wanted a retractable roof. But im not paying for it, so I don’t have the right to complain. The initial rendering were really nice. Another ideal design I wish we could’ve mimicked was the Vikings’ stadium. So much glass it doesn’t feel like you’re playing inside. I absolutely love it. That’s one of my fav stadiums. That being said, im happy with future renderings. They better include those massive buffalos out in front. -
Josh Allen passes the ball a lot and runs the ball a lot. It’s not an understatement to say the offense literally goes through him. Because of that, I fully expect him to have higher turnover numbers than most QBs. I dont think it’s a matter of Allen being turnover prone but more a product of Allen constantly running this offense like no other QB does in the NFL. I rarely get that nervous feeling in my gut of “please don’t turn the ball over”. He’s pretty good about it overall. The only nervousness I suffer from Allen is when he runs and decides to go full linebacker mode on opposing players.

I hear ya but im not referring to the Waddle TD. The play im referring to happened earlier in the game and it was for a big gain but not a TD. It was a 32yd gain in the second quarter. My focus on it is that Waddle beat Tre bad on it - like 2-3yds of separation bad.
-
Tre definitely made some plays. But if I recall he got torched 2x - the first time by Waddle where Waddle literally ran right by him. The second was the TD pass to Hill. Two great WR, but Tre got abused those two plays.
-
I may be wrong, but the only time I saw someone get beat bad, it was Tre? Tre did make some plays though I think the only time I saw Elam’s name was on a contested catch where the WR made a great play but Elam was right there in coverage. Id have to rewatch bc I don’t remember seeing much of Jackson (which is a good thing)

I’m starting to get extremely frustrated with Dorsey.

That would be like Chiefs fans complaining that their success is bc of Mahomes and Kelce. Well yeh, duh. Still cant stop them. -
This year they play in one of the weakest divisions in the NFL. And their schedule has thus been kind of a joke. That being said, how are they overrated? They’re a top 5 team in the NFL on anyone’s list. So if we want to argue if they’re #5 or #2 or # 1 who cares. Its semantics. Theyre one of the best teams in the NFL. We dont have to go down to the pathetic level of chiefs fans (I saw that thread on their horrible message board at the beginning of the year). That message board, like their fanbase, is a dumpster fire.

Devin Singletary not scoring a TD with 34 seconds left
bobobonators replied to chongli's topic in The Stadium Wall
I thought it was the right play. The point being you run the clock down so there’s no time left for opponent to win the game. You have the last play. You dictate whether you win or not. Period. -
I have said this in numerous threads and will keep saying it: Priority #1 now that we have Allen is protecting Allen and giving him forever to do his thing. Priority #2 is giving Allen a constant supply of weapons. The next few drafts the first 3 rds need to be dedicated to OL/WR, in whatever combination.

Week 16: Bills at Bears on Christmas Eve
bobobonators replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Hopefully this will be a game where we can have Singletary and Cook rush for 200yds. Give Allen a break from having to carry the offense. -
NFL Week #15 - Fish at Buffalo - Post Game Thread
bobobonators replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Not sure if it’s been mentioned, but Buffalo was clearly the superior team once the snow/wind started coming down. Allen was passing it with no problems at all. Meanwhile Tua was huddled in his oversized jacket hiding like a turtle from the elements. This made me feel good about possible weather issues in playoffs when we have home field advantage in the AFC Championship game. -

Matty Ice ices himself yet again. Dude needs to retire. -
Something that cant be overlooked that puts Allen at a disadvantage: Hurts, Mahomes and Burrow all play for a HC that is an offensive-minded coach. The teams have an OC but the HC’s of those respective teams strongly guide the offense of those teams. And of most importance that creates stability and consistency for the offense over time unless the HC gets fired. Look what happened to us with Daboll. Right when Allen was hitting his stride, he accepts a HC gig. Same thing will continue happening with OC over the years. I love McD and im not advocating for a change at HC, just pointing out a reality Allen has to contend with. Every few years it’ll likely be a slightly different system as our OC get HC jobs (or get fired with us).

Do we also have a lot of drops bc we are at the top or near the top in pass attempts in the league? More passes, more drops logically. that being said, yeh we do appear to drop the ball quite a bit. McKenzie is becoming unreliable - he shows flashes but he just makes too many boneheaded drops/plays.

I thought 10-3 would feel better...
bobobonators replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think this is where you and the OP get caught up and lost. You keep focusing on this subjective "off". What is "on"? Weeks 1-2? It's impossible for any team to go through a season blowing the doors off opponents. And i'm also sure that when you use the word "off" you're referring to Josh Allen and the offense, and not the team. The defense has stepped it up in the last few games, despite all of their injuries. Ultimately, it seems you have this standard in your head of what the offense should look like every single week and without asking, i'm guessing that standard is Allen has to throw for 300+yds/game, and 3 total touchdowns; the offense must score approx 30pts/game. Anything less than that and i'm sure they'll continue to look "off". Objectively, we rank 2nd in total yards, and 4th in points per game on offense. On defense we rank 9th in yds/game and 2nd in points per game. So objectively, by actual metrics, we have a top 5 offense and a top 5 defense. Oh yeh, and this little thing: WE ARE 10-3. We have also beaten every other division leader in the AFC. In short, it's a you problem. -
NFL Week #14 - Jets at Bills - Post game thread
bobobonators replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
1. The Jets have a great defense. 2. the weather was bad. 3. we had a couple of drops. Those 3 things alone probably account for 95% of the issues we had on offense in the first half. -

It’s the NFL. The dolphins just lost to the chargers. The Chiefs almost lost to the Broncos - what an ugly win. The cowboys almost lost to the Texans! The money line in that game was -2,000 Cowboys! They barely squeaked one out. The Vikings just lost to the Lions We have beaten the best teams in the AFC. Our losses are all nailbiters and mostly self-induced. We are elite. Stop trying to fit a square peg in a round hole by thinking otherwise. Every team has flaws. Just watch the games every week and you’ll clearly see how flawed they are.
