OK.. OFFSEASON WISH LIST/ PRIORTIES TIME
billsfan714 replied to Bocephuz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My cut/dont re-sign list..... CJ Lee Smith Goodwin Chris Williams Pears Brooks Gay Manny Lawson Tuel I do everything reasonable to keep Hughes In the draft and free agency its all about getting a QB and Gs I keep Orton for next year, that salary isnt that high and Im going into it knowing 2015 is the last year he is in my plans. I view him as a one year place holder, a bridge to the next QB and I dont think its Manuel. If we draft another QB in rounds 2-3, and I hope we do, it wouldnt be fair to this defense to start him and have a sub 500 record. Orton is what he is, but with a better OL he could get you to a wildcard. That would be confidence boost to a young team and hopefully in 2016 the new guy is ready to step into a good situation. -
We were hoping to keep Sparano up all night game planning on how to stop him, because you know CJ can take it to the house at any time. Sarcasm......

The dual nature of being a Bills fan of my age
billsfan714 replied to Pine Barrens Mafia's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think after you cross the 5-0 you look at a lot of things differently. For me, it really hit me that I am hopefully in my last full decade of working and you can see a goal(retirement) getting closer. As for watching the Bills, I buy Sunday ticket to watch all the games but I dont get too high or low. Ive watched enough football to know this isnt an elite team, so the playoffs weren't on my radar. I predicted 6-10 so they actually exceeded my expectations by 2 games. Sure you can look at a few plays here and there and we could of been 10-6. But after the superbowl years a one and done wild card berth doesnt get me excited. The part that does get me frustrated is the drafting. Taking too many runningbacks, corners billed as shutdown then they dont even make a probowl. Craptastic QBs. You can point to some hits, and you can say every team has misses but we have had too many misses especially in the early rounds. For example, people will say we traded down took EJ and got Kiko in the second. Well if you crap the bed with the 1st pick, well not exactly a great draft. Its Maybin, its Troup, its passing on Ngata when just about every friggin mock draft that year had him going to the Bills. This team needs a Polian draft, a draft where you get future HOFs, I thought about this the other day, after the SB teams what player have we drafted that will make the HOF---Lynch maybe and he's playing for the Seahawks. You combine that with coaching hires that have been less than stellar and you get 15 years no playoffs.. I will become more emotionally invested when I see a team thats elite. Until then I hope for the best but watch games waiting for the implosion and you know its going to happen. -
Well dont be. Imagine if we had the Raiders running stats, think we could of won the game? I do. Then we would be 9-6 heading into the final week. Im not saying Orton is great by any means. But the realistic options for 2015 are Orton, EJ or a rookie. With EJ or a rookie we arent sniffing the playoffs.

Orton wasnt great but we did rush for the 4th lowest output in team history. And that aint Ortons fault. Id rather ride with Orton and a improved OL next year than EJ.

Offensive line is the Achilles Heel.
billsfan714 replied to Nitro's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ive never seen a line that has absolutely no push---look at our redzone running struggles and are so un-athletic. Watching these guys block in space is like watching 300 lb drunks stagger out of a bar at closing time. -
He's Jamal Charles minus the production.

Futile. -
Aaron Rodgers would look better in red, white and blue. Great team you guys have. good luck in the playoffs.

Whaley should stay but Merrone needs W in my book
billsfan714 replied to Hplarrm's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Marrone just cemented that he's coming back. With a win over the Raiders we are no worse than 9-7. After the millenium we have been having, we aren't firing a coach after year 2 that produces a winning record. That being said, I think every head coach should look at his staff, just as he would his players, and make changes for under performers. The OL is not being coached up, EJ wasnt improved in year 2 and Orton has gotten worse the longer he works with this staff. Im all for some changes to the offensive coaching staff. Totally agree with this. -
I look way better than Torell Troup dont I bitches!!!!

The official penalty yards dont tell the whole story. Sure it might be a 10 yard holding penalty on a interception return in the stat line but actually it was a 40-50 yard penalty. I might be a 5 yard penalty on defensive holding but when you had 3rd down stops that turned in ticky tacky call that gave them a new set of downs and 7 points instead of 3, thats a big difference. The D holding them to 306, well we all would of taken that before kickoff. Orton was gutless and off. Those were the 2 biggest factors in the game.

That an offensive output when you're afraid to have your QB throw the ball. Stick a fork in Geno.....he's done. -
Bills awarded TE MarQueis Gray from Vikings

If T. Pryor had half a brain, he would give up on the pipe dream that he's a QB in the NFL and would make the transition to a TE. -
Johnny Football. Meet the Meatball.

Johnny will get the running knocked out of him in the NFL, just ask RG3. -

What was that -
Yes we could have. One team (the Bills) was afraid and one team wasnt(the Seahawks). One team hasnt been to the playoffs in 15 years and one is the defending superbowl champion. Lynch as been all pro in Seattle, probably has been top 3 in the NFL in rushing yards for the years he has been in Seattle. Lynch has a pending DUi after the season, I doubt he's looking at being suspended for a year. The Bills got Hairston and Tank Carder for a top 3 rb. The Bills were chickensh*t. Just another example of not being able to evaluate talent. Fine go ahead with the conventional defend anything the Bills do. LIke Buddy Nix is a "football man". Never quite understood what it meant but some people ate that BS up.

Package Manual in a trade offer to move up to 1st round

It's do-able if you're talking about the CFL draft. -
Offense is so predictable: Deion Summed it up perfectly.

I really like how we got Chandler and MW involved to keep the Miami D off balance. -
1. Orton had a decent stretch, but the sobering reality of this prime time game dud is Kyle Orton is really Kyle Orton. He has a ceiling of 9-7 or so with good talent around him. He's been off by a yard or 2 with a regular consistency. Even more disturbing is knowing he's more accurate the Manuel. 2. We aren't better guard talent and a TE away. I don't care that our first pick next year is in the 2nd round, the top priority to taking this team to a higher level, is a real QB. To the EJ believers, fine give him the final 6 games, I dont care, I dont think you will see a good NFL QB. Sorry that's reality, he was what the scouts thought he was.....a 3rd or 4th round QB with measureables that didnt match the play on the field.... 3. Can even the most ardent homers please stop with the Scott Chandler is good, or even mediocre. Im in a 10 team, 2TE fantasy league....one dude had 3 TE's and nobody in 21 roster slots has Chandler . Talk about a total non-factor. The guy can disappear at key times and it as clutch as Leodis, good for 1 anti-play making, cost you a win a season. 4. This offense is unimaginative....it's small ball. There's not a lot of misdirection...the big plays are not anywhere near frequent enough. 5. Go ahead and flame away...but I;m with a poster like BillsVet on Whaley. Stop, pause for a moment and think about Whaley trading a 2015 Buffalo Bills 1st round draft choice to move up in a WR super deep draft. It doesnt seem as such a steal when you compare Watkins to a lot of the other 1st rounder receivers. But here's the part where you think how could I be sucked in by a GM talkiing that our pick would be a late round selection. It would be a playoff round selection when you had Manuel...Thad friggin Lewis and Jeff I lost a ton in college Tuel at QB in a 2014 pass happy NFL.., I dont think so. God how could I even remotely think that was going to happen. 6. This team needs playmakers... 7. Nate Hackett is in over his head. Modern NFL offense,...not even close. The D has given this team great field position and the O has layed an egg. The only person who doesnt realize this is Marrone. The only thing Nate should be planning is if he's getting Dunkin Donuts or Cinnabon for the morning meeting for a real offensive coordinator. 8. Where are the playmakers in the secondary with this rush....where's a new generation of Odoms and Henry Jones. 9. The stat on the Bills season avg starting position and this offensive production is a crime against the D.
