Happy for Freddie, he deserves to ride into the sunset on a good team and experience the playoffs and possibly a SB.

Well if this is cut aging veterans day lets combine it with dumping Cassell and riding into the season with Tyrod EJ and Simms and putting Cassell's money to extending Marcel.

If they combine this with Cassel being the starting QB my enthusiasm for this team will be down. Fred deserved to retire as a Bill. I dont think this sends a good message to the veterans and is not positive for the lockeroom.

None of our QBs are going to light it up passing, Tyrod brings the running aspect the other 2 dont possess. Im fine with starting Taylor over Cassel and EJ.

There;s just an intangible missing with EJ. I dont see the strength of a Big Ben to shake guys off then make a throw/...and with his size and strength you would think you would. You dont see the athleticism of a guy with his measurables. 2 head coaches have seem him daily in practice and dont seem to want to go in the season with him as a starter. Im on a keyboard in another state, I have to believe it isnt just their lying eyes.

It's a hamstring....he didnt tear his ACL....the season hasnt even started..if we had to go the first couple of weeks of the regular season with FJ and Brown we'll be fine. Isnt that the point of being deep at RB? Let the new rbs be the practice/preseason meat backs. Chill........ we got this.

Trump tried to sue his way into the league, get a NFL team on the cheap, overplayed a weak hand and killed the USFL and any hopes he ever had of owning a NFL team. I love the optimism, I really do. The eternal optimists keep us cynics sane. Because deep down we want to go with our hearts, and say, yeah it could happen. Then our brain kicks, our Buffalo-Murphys law kicks in and we try to picture Cassel or EJ hoisting a trophy on national TV in our heads....and say..naw, my years of watching football just cant picture that happening.

Between him and Goodwin we should be able to get 6 games or so out of that duo.

I just put this out as food for thought. The Patriots have not won a superbowl since spygate. In the losses they haven't exactly lit up the scoreboard...odd especially with some offensive juggernaut teams including the year they were deadly with Brady paired up with the likes of Randy Moss. Reports during spygate that went beyond the stealing of signals but also including unexplained radio frequencies. We all know that feel good story of the Mark McQuire/Sosa homerun chase turned sour after it was learned that it was a steroid fueled deception. Bonds, Clemens and A-rod among others had their balloons burst. Lance Armstrong....oh how we wanted to believe a cancer survivor could do the unthinkable,...but live strong bracelets turned into a joke. Here's something not a lot of people talk about.....Tiger Woods,,,didnt he have some work done by a pretty shady Dr. from Canada? Cant find find good Drs in Palm Springs or Miami? Old timers start talking about the need in Golf for drug testing....Tiger no long the dominant force and the injuries mount. .. I guess what Im saying is if you would try to game the rules over something as small as the air pressure in the ball....combined with a history of breaking more serious rules....well this movie may well be a re-run. Im not as naive as I use to be.

Marrone was drinking his agents kool-aid a little too much. If you're a billionaire owner this what Dougie has show he cant do. Develop a young QB. Utilize CJ Spiller. Improve an offensive line. What he has shown is he's thin skinned, think anybody in the league believes the Buffalo media is tougher than larger cities? He's not real loyal. He's power hungry. If Doug Marrone was QB instead of a coach he would be Rob Johnson or Scott Mitchell. A guy who had some success, but it wasnt as impressive as it looks and was more likely the result of being in the right place at the right time.

The media is the vast majority of NFL cities is not an all day call in show about how great the team is. It's a bunch of opinions from the hosts, guests and callers about personnel, coaching/GM decisions,etc. It's the nature of the game. Put your big boy pants on Doug.
