Haack is kicking really slow [Moderator Edited🤦‍♂️]
saundena replied to Gisele's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Maybe I'm still traumatized from the Pittsburg game, but this guy Haak scares me. Bring back Bojorquez; I don't know why we got rid of him. The few times we called upon him to punt last year, he was excellent! -
I don't have The Athletic, but they have a writeup on Josh's early season struggles. Anybody who has a subscription, I'd be curious to hear your take / summary on what they say (pls don't copy paste the article). Me, I figured that he's regress, but not in a bad way. Basically I felt that his passing yards, TD's etc would be reduced with an improved running game and defense. I still expected him to be a high completion % passer and have a low % of interceptions. I didn't expect this. I think he will improve and hopefully it doesn't take all season. I know that the Bills installed a bunch of new plays before the Miami game. Could this be one of the reasons why our offense wasn't so crisp against the Fins? Edit-- I know everybody is going to tell me to get The Athletic, but the only sport I watch is Football and I really only care about the Bills. I wish I could get a Bills only subscription to the Athletic!

Probably could have used his blocking skills today

We believed the media hype -
Agreed with you about playing in pubs, which is why we play at our house or a friends house. Most pubs are a recipe for disaster, but Houston does have a few good board game cafes where that is less of a concern. See, I like Talisman. It's not hard or very strategic and there is a lot of randomness, but it is very "story like" and the designers (FFG) did a really great job with the fluff and flavor, making the world come alive, especially where the expansions are concerned! I get it though, it's not for everybody.
-
How do I get on on that!
-
Early on during the REAL pandemic (March 2020 I believe), my friends and I decided to play Pandemic virtually. It took 3x as long since we had to basically have one person controlling the deck for everybody, not to mention constantly adjusting the camera so everybody could clearly see the game board.

I tend to collect too, but which drives my wife crazy. Gloomhaven is terrific, but it's a 4+ hour commitment with our group- chatty wives + booze. I will buy Frosthaven, but want to beat Gloom first. I'll also say that the token organizers and 3rd party dashboards, counters, standee's etc make the game so much better from an organization standpoint. Betrayal is good, never played Dead of Winter. Over the years, we've also played a lot of Talisman, Pandemic and Dominion.

Forget Catan! I'd like to know what their Gloomhaven strategy is

I haven't decided yet. At this point, I kinda feel like another SB- even if it's with a different team, doesn't really impact Brady's status as the undisputed GOAT. As much as I don't like him and look forward to the day he rides off into the sunset, I like Bruce Arians and would like to see him get a SB. He seems like a classy, and talented head coach. I also like Mahomes and Reid, but they got a SB last year- so I might root for a different Bruuuuuuuuuce!

Can't be that deranged of an idea if others noticed it too! I'm not saying that we lost because of Josh's performance, but if he wasn't 100%, then he wouldn't be able to be at his best.
-
Or tried to be like the 1990's Bills and partied it up the night before. Glad I'm not the only one that thought that.

Was it just me, or did Josh's skin color look "off" yesterday? I watched it at a bar with multiple TV's and he seemed to have a yellowish complexion. Regardless of which TV I looked at, his skin coloring just seemed off, at least compared to the other white guys on the team- he just didn't look right. I mentioned it to the person next to me and said that he looked jaundiced and they agreed too. Just wondering if anybody else saw that. Maybe he wasn't 100% healthy?

5 Reasons to Root for the Bills to Reach the SB
saundena posted a topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Great read to share with all your non-Bills fan friends and acquaintances, or anybody else that doesn't have skin in the game from a fan or gambling perspective! https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/five-reasons-to-root-for-bills-to-reach-2021-super-bowl-bills-mafia-ode-to-90s-teams-top-the-list/ -
Hate to say it- but this seems right to me. I think last week we were a bit overconfident and stumbled through and ultimately beat an inferior, but a well rounded team playing out of their mind. It was a wakeup call. The Ravens, like our Bills, ended the season on a high note (5 or 6 quality wins). They are not well rounded like the colts, but their strengths match up well to our weaknesses. I think we will limit Lamar Jackson's arm for the most part, and we will even manage to limit their rushing attack (Lamar's too). But the Ravens will stick with the run, control the clock and make enough plays to their tight ends- an area that the Bills have struggled with for what seems like decades- to win the game. Josh outplays Lamar, but Defense loses us the game. We will be able to score I think, but our quick strike nature leaves little room for error. We can't have too many three and outs otherwise our defense will be gassed. While I fear that Josh will start a little "too tight" and that we get behind by a TD early, I don't think he'll make any costly errors with the ball. His near fumble last week should have put the fear of God into him.... and honestly, there is no way that our O line plays that badly again, two weeks in a row! Ravens score a late TD in an otherwise close game. The Ravens and Titans were our worst matchups. They are the teams that scare me. If we do happen to beat the Ravens (and stay healthy), then I think we will cruise, beat KC and ultimately win the SB.

Diggs and Beasley both practicing!

Not that it means anything.... https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/30669364/buffalo-bills-stefon-diggs-cole-beasley-questionable-playoff-game -
Personally, I think Josh's Nuts Stadium would be great (Per Wikipedia, josh invested in his family farm and plans to plant and eventually sell pistachio's. One brand name that Josh joked about would be calling it Josh's Nuts). In all seriousness, I really like the sound of Mighty Stadium. Wegman Stadium would also be great.

I'd add to that list Herbert. I think he's going to be a stud- even if he's only played one season. Also, I remember how midway through out the 2018 seasons, I looked back and was horrified about the number of times we go blown out by good teams- The Ravens, Chargers, Packers, Colts, Patriots (x2), Bears in 2018 and the Jets, Saints, Chargers, Pats (x2) in 2017. Now, were the ones blowing out good teams consistently! I remember how pissed off I got hearing McDermott talk about the process as if he was an organizational turn-around expert, who had a strong track record of turning around trash-heap organizations. What doe he know. Our worst game of the year was the Titans game (lost to a good team) which was surrounded by weird circumstances. McD had his own growing pains as a coach, but held true to what he believed and did the things he needed to do to become a better coach. Looking back, the improvement was incremental but noticeable and we kept moving forward. The NFL is littered with the bones of 1st time head coaches who aren't able to improve like our McClappy did Thank God the Pegula's recognized their mistakes and hired McBean. It was a little unconventional to hire McD before Bean, but ultimately didn't matter since they are lock step on seemingly everything in the organization.
