  1. Agreed. He's the best interviewer we've seen in the modern media age.

  3. I love Romo. I'm the guy who doesn't really notice commentary-good or bad, but I notice Romo and he is excellent- enthusiastic, entertaining and explains things well
  4. ABSOLUTELY YES IT DOES... ...Especially when you consider the circumstances of our success. Let's be honest- the whole league and probably a good number of players on the Bills figured that we would suck this year. Forget that we needed help to get in or still have a lot of holes to fill. McD got this team playing and our coaches did more with less. McD and Beane have served notice that they know what they are doing and can build a roster. Even if we get blown out by the Jacksonville kitty cats, the undeniable fact is that we are a team on the rise, poised to get younger. Any free agent considering Buffalo can see this too. We're not the black pit that we used to be!
  5. Hey TBD, it's been a while since I posted. First, let me say that this week as been euphoric. Despite our many differing opinions on our QB, the coach, the owner, other posters, and all of the nitty gritty decisions, plays and moments etc that make up a season; isn't it great that we have a place such as TBD to come together and share our love for this team after such a historic weekend! And historic it was. We owned the longest professional sports drought in North America! Now on to my question. Other than the Bills, I've been paying less attention to football lately (cord cutter, sick of the refs, the Pats*, etc). So I'm not a phenom concerning the rest of the league. However, the 49ers turn around hasn't escaped my attention. Seems like Mr. James Garoppolo could be the real deal. Now, I haven't watched any of his games, but SF did beat good competition during their final weeks including 3 playoff teams in the Jags, the Titans and the Rams (2 if you consider the the Rams had nothing to play for). Are they legit with Jimmy G? Is he the real deal? I like Tyrod, but I'm not a Tyrod believer in him- and I don't think OBD is either. If he could consistently give us 300 yards of offense with his legs and arm I'd be happy. Yards translate into field goals and field position and first downs- all thing that help the defense. We just haven't generate enough yards against better teams and/or let inferior teams hang around in the 2nd half. Now, I don't want to turn this into a TT bash- because I am thankful he got us to the playoffs- and some of our issues are certainly on Dennison, but if the front office is really soured on TT and intends to move on from him, do you think they could make a push for Garoppolo? Would TBD prefer Garoppolo (with a short resume) or Cousins? What do you think it would cost to get each? Go Bills- I hope that the fans travel well and outnumber Jags fans 2-1 (which probably won't be hard to do)!
  6. Didn't we give up one of our 3rds to get Benjamin?
  7. In Chi on business and want to catch the game with my Bills Bros. I'm staying downtown. Any recommendations? Mods feel free to move if this is in the wrong area
  8. Well I kinda figured, I just didn't know when it happened. But thanks for being an a$$. Not all of us check into TBD daily and I certainly wasn't trying to be a jerk.
  9. Honest question: Did Bill from NYC pass away? I recall that he had a health scare a few years back. I sure enjoyed reading his thoughtful insights...
  10. Look, I love the Bills and always ensure that my business travels do not interfere with a game, but there are just so many other things competing for our attention these days. I've come to realize that I'm simply a die hard fan of the Buffalo Bills, and only have mild interest in the NFL after that. If the Bills were ever leave Buffalo, I would probably only maintain only minimal interest in the NFL. You make a very good point too, with saturation. It's getting to be too much is right- especially for those of us who's wives don't care so much for football. It's hard to find time to do all the things I need to do, all the things I enjoy doing and still dedicate 6-7 hours to the NFL during the week. TV has gotten so much better as well. I think the NFL is seeing VERY STRONG competition from great original programming from HBO, FX, Netflix, etc. Why do I want to watch a dumpster fire of a game when I can catch up on Stranger things, or GoT? And with the proliferation of great fantasy apps and stats tracking, I don't need to watch the game to get near instantaneous stats updates. I don't even enjoy fantasy as much as I used to. With so many different options and leagues, I find that my enthusiasm is waning. The banter back and forth in my league isn't what it used to be, either. Officiating is becoming a bad issue too. To may judgement calls and too much sterilization of fun. NFL = No Fun League. I remember back when people could do clever (non offensive) celebrations and not see their team penalized. Ahhh well. Perhaps I'm just becoming old.
  11. You know, Cassell didn't look so hot yesterday, either. Based on the play of EJ and Cassell during preseason, the Bills kept the right QB. Remember, EJ had more scoring drives than even TT did in Preseason! Whaley, Rex, etc had every reason to believe EJ turned the corner; He didn't but let's not think we'd be 5-2 if he were our backup right now.
  12. Glad your back so soon. Wish the Bills had as much heart as you do!
  13. How did things get this bad? What if rex finishes worse than Marone.... then what happened?
  14. Our $250MM D line was embarrassing. 1 sack all day long against a bunch of Patriot rookies on the road is simply awful. How in the hell did this happen? We're supposed to be so talented up front, I can't help but think that if we got a little more pressure up front and caused a sack or forced a 3rd down incompletionon one of the many Patriot scoring drives that we would have been at least tied on that last drive. Thtee things that stink: 1. The vaunted Rex Ryan defense. This guy has more talent on D than he's ever had yet we looked completely inept. 2. Our discipline. Way too many costly penalties. 3. Our offensive game plan in the 2nd quarter. Throwing 1 yard passes against the Pats just won't cut it. Not trying to be chicken little because we did lose to a good team but this game was a joke. When it comes down to it, they are better than us in every way possible. Not looking forward to the rematch.
  15. Ok, I know that this is being discussed in a separate thread, but we need to push this topic nationally. Who do we have to complain to, NFL rules committee? There has to be something in the rules about the ref's being impartial judges in the game? We need to email/twitter bomb, Mike & Mike, Cowherd et al until this issue is taken seriously and the NFL responds in an appropriate manner. Those two refs should be suspended for the rest of the season. If I'm the NFL, the game's integrity is a risk! For the record, Actually I think the Referees usually do a very good job despite how quick the game is. I'm pissed when they get calls wrong as happens every game; but I also accept that it happens considering how the rules currently exist. Every teams get's BS calls for and against, but the fist bump is HIGHLY suspicious.
  16. I'm OK with Whaley and Brandon. I know some of the other rookie WRs are doing well, but their prospects for greatness was not as much of a sure things as Sammy. If Whaley would have selected somebody else, say for instance Carolina's Kelvin Benjamin and he didn't perform well then we would have been pissed at Whaley for not going after Sammy. The other thing to realize is that we can't look at things in a vacuum... Imagine how good Sammy could be doing if he had Cam Newton throwing him the ball.... I'm OK with Brandon as long as he and Whaley both report to TPegs.... He's a great business guy and I really feel that he loves the team. It's just that I don't think the football operations side of the house and the business side of the house should have to compete with or answer to the other. The business side of the house should be 100% committed to supporting the GM and making sure he can execute his agenda, with oversight and support from the owner. After all, this is a Football team, not manufacturing or service. The GM should have a lot of power and not have to fight for / or to keep that power. Doug Marrone needs to go. The players seem to like him but his team always seems unprepared and he's not a good game day coach. He needed to hire two experienced coordinators. Instead he hired Petine (who we really got luck with because he turned out to be good) and Hackett who is mostly awful. I believe the offense and Hackett will be his undoing. If Whaley stays (which I think he should.... can you imagine if we had the Jets GM Idzik... GM's are not a dime a dozen, nor are they perfect.) then who needs to go? Whaley has done a good job for the most part. Sure, we knew the Oline would be a problem, but Rome wasn't built over night. So Whaley stays, but which coaches get the boot? Do you fire everybody? Can you fire just the head coach and then let the new head coach make decisions about the rest of the staff? Because, I really like Schwartz, Pepper Johnson and Crossman... What if the new coach wants to bring in his guys? Do you promote Schwartz? Schwartz has proven time and again and continues to show that he's a top notch Dcoord. His record as a head coach is only mediocre. If you promote him, who takes over our D, which is quite possibly the best in the league? I'd hate to see them go from Petine, Schwartz and then a new guy.... 3 coordinators in 3 years. I'd like to see some stability. If you promote Schwartz, who do you think he'd be able to attract as an offensive coordinator? Thoughts please?
  17. This is going to be a real tough game. I give our odds at 50% best case.
  18. Didn't find anything. Figured this was more direct
