  1. He’s not “one of the worst” in on-target throws; he’s 21st. That’s not even bottom 1/3. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2019/passing_advanced.htm And for the record, his drop percentage was the worst in the league by a full percentage point.
  2. If people are obsessed with the 60% benchmark, then I have a very simple, logical way to assuage you: Allen had the highest percentage of dropped passes in the NFL at 7.2%. If you were to merely normalize that number to the median percentage (~5% across the top 32 pass attempting QBs), then that would be 8 fewer drops (and accordingly 8 more completions). His adjusted completion percentage would then be 60.5%.
  3. This definitely needed its own thread
  4. Anyone that wants to see the pitfalls of Rex’s D need only re-watch the Gronk TD against NRC in 2016. You know, the one where the Bills made 2 different coverage checks in less than 30 seconds, the last of which left straight man coverage in the secondary and everyone on the Pats****** knew it? Flappy arm check - RAT call. Man coverage. Hmmm, let’s see, 6’6” 265 lb TE singled up with a 5’7” 170 lb corner? Looks good to me. Best part about it? NE showed the same White-to-the-flat motion later in the quarter, and we made the exact same check ? Unbelievable.
  5. This is all about wanting access to their own wellness facilities. The Bills continue to be at the top of the league in injury recovery and maintenance of health, and a lot of that is due to the facilities.
  6. 11 teams represented; all of them made the playoffs last year. NFL fans are fickle beasts Also, this can’t be correct. Because every time the Steelers make a run, every person on the planet trips over themselves to tell you that “yeah, my main team is _______, but everyone knows that I’ve always been a Steelers fan”
  7. Remember that Frazier also played in Buddy Ryan’s 46 with the 85 Bears. He can adapt.
  8. Any organization that gives $20M/year to a serial woman beater isn’t worth respecting
  9. That play was also called DPI. Nice ball by Matt but pretty fair to assume they get the 3rd down conversion there regardless.
  10. Just take a picture of his career stat line and post it in the comments
  11. He’s also a marginally better QB than Nathan Peterman. He was absolutely horrible.
  12. Almost certainly. They were on their second consecutive drive deep into Pats territory, and Allen is one of the best RZ QBs in the game. Very good chance they punch it in instead of turning it over on downs from inside the 5. You’re overstating, and you’re forgetting that they got inside the 5 and didn’t score right after that. Was there a series Allen played in 2019 where they didn’t score from inside the 5?
  13. The Pats****** had 5 players in their secondary that ranked in the top 16 in passer rating allowed in 2019. The 2020 Bills, Jets, and Dolphins rosters had 1...combined.
  14. I think that they’ll continue to have an excellent defense, and their OL can run block well. They need some young WRs to step up in a major way for whoever starts at QB. That’s my best sell job.
  15. Big win if the accuracy being reported is correct: https://www.wsj.com/articles/roche-coronavirus-antibody-test-wins-fda-approval-for-emergency-use-11588505019?fbclid=IwAR3uiUrBRwHGsean2eOhl-uu8qX_zGQO7GPrCSWl1VABEeLrFWiwA7w5jRo
  16. I don’t care if they play in a dimly lit basement; give me Bills football
  17. Many serious lifters do indeed juice. I don’t and would never knowingly work with anyone that does...I just don’t want to be associated with foul play. There are raw natural divisions where guys are tested regularly, but sometimes guys juice anyway and get around it. It’s not common, because most naturals are in that division so that they don’t have to use to be competitive. As for avoiding cardio, it depends. If your natural build is conducive to certain lifts, and you want to drop LBs to get to a new weight class, then absolutely, do cardio. If you’re trying to add force to your lifts, then many guys will ditch traditional cardio, but will commonly include sprints and/or sled pulls to build explosiveness. Personally, I have a lifter’s build. Thick around the chest, short limbs, longer torso. For me, sprint cardio and lots of walking were key.
  18. I’ll bet on a proven vet that was clutch in the playoffs over a rookie. I also think that with the expanded PS and promote-to-55 on game days they may choose to keep Bass on the PS as an ever present threat to Hauschka.
  19. I’d put the odds as follows: Davis - 100% Fromm - 90% Bass - 40% Hodgins - 30% Jackson - 15%
  20. Boy this kid fooled me; I remember thinking that he could bend and close, and expecting him to be an impact guy right away.
  21. Indeed. Start looking at the defensive math and you have to make a sacrifice. Teams want to play nickel as much as possible for flexibility, but at best you can match to your 3 WRs and a TE. To do so you’ve got to pick from 3 options: playing hat on hat in the run game, spying the QB, or playing single high in the secondary. You better have some athletic LBs and safeties that can thump against the run, or else you’re going to have to substitute and give the offense a look they can take advantage of. This is the type of thing that NE****** has been doing with their forced personnel looks for years.
  22. I’d like to clarify something here: Smoke very rarely faced double coverage by my study last year. The 11 personnel group that Buffalo adopted as their base midseason really limited the ability to both double a WR and spy the QB...which would you have chosen? Easy answer IMO. Smoke quite often, however, faced other teams’ best cover man, and that will likely change. So perhaps the more pertinent question is “will Smoke be able to feast on CB2s, and will Beasley put slot corners through the meat grinder?”...to which I say: yup.
  23. No Brady or sports of any kind to talk about so PLEASE GIVE ME ATTENTION!!!!
  24. I don’t know what the compensation would have been, but I do know that AJ would’ve been a Bill if Mike Brown didn’t pull the plug on a deal that Duke Tobin worked on with Buffalo.
  25. If you’re newer to the board then this is worth repeating: There are absolutely, definitely posters on this board that have insight into what the front office is doing and thinking. It has been proven on many occasions. Sometimes they “report” such things in subtle ways, but if you’re paying attention you notice. Also, not everything that is inside info comes out on this board—a LOT of it gets communicated via PM. That way if (and when) something doesn’t happen people don’t lose their minds. Perfect example is the AJ Green trade that came surprisingly close to happening at last year’s deadline.
