  1. How does that make him any different than any other player in the league?
  2. Shannon brings up a great point: the fallout from this situation has the potential to dictate the livelihood and career of many athletes and celebrities in general. If Fromm loses his job, then every person with a text message from a celebrity that has any type of racial tone has the potential to become ammo with which an interested party can take them down.
  3. You legit said that racism was tolerated back then and that’s why Josh was lucky. And if you can’t see the corollary I’m drawing I don’t know what to tell you. You either believe that moral issues reflect on an organization or you don’t. You either believe that you should take a player at his word or you don’t. That’s all I’ll say about it. My comments in this thread will be dedicated to Fromm from here on out.
  4. Slightly different reaction than when he spoke with Josh Allen huh?
  5. He. Tweeted. Quotes. From. A. Show. And. Hip. Hop. Lyrics. You're simply looking for a smoking gun that isn’t there. That you do so out of one side of your mouth while defending Tyreek Hill out of the other says all I need to know about the level of discernment being applied here.
  6. FWIW, Stephen A. Smith gave his perspective at the time, and he seemed absolutely fine with Allen’s explanation:
  7. Hill’s justification of 2014 was “yeah well I may have bruised you but I didn’t hit you”. He was literally recorded telling the same woman “you need to be afraid of me too”. That you’re in here justifying choking a pregnant woman and later telling her she needs to be afraid of him is insane. And for the record, he was absolutely NOT exonerated in the 2019 incident—the police didn’t have enough evidence to determine who committed a crime because Espinal didn’t cooperate—I wonder why. Oh, and he’s also had two other run-ins for abuse, battery, and neglect. I am risking thread-jacking so I’ll close by saying that I don’t understand how anyone can see an organization that also gave Frank Clark $20M and drafted Kareem Hunt (who’d still be on the team sans video evidence) and be confident enough to believe the “he didn’t do it” version of events regarding Hill.
  8. Tyreek Hill didn’t beat his girl in college? News to most of the world given that he plead guilty. Perhaps you didn’t mean to paint the organization that way, but surely you can see why it reads as such.
  9. You’re trying really hard to make this organization out to be a bunch of racists, which is interesting considering that it’s the only one with a minority female owner. As for Allen, you’re way off. Modern Family quotes and hip hop lyrics don’t exactly constitute racism. And if his teammates felt that way they’d have settled it 2 years ago when he was drafted. And here’s some food for thought: maybe a fan of a team that drafts Tyreek Hill and trades for Frank Clark—2 men known to have beaten their girlfriends—shouldn’t be so quick to cast such aspersions.
  10. I can’t abide giving a QB with zero NFL starts and a potentially bum hip the nod over two up and coming youngsters. And I think putting anyone above LeVeon Bell is crazy, but if anyone goes there it probably ought to be the guy that averaged 5.1 YPC as a rookie.
  11. How. Is. That. Possible.
  12. How kind of you to offer your conditional forgiveness
  13. Thanks. The Josh Allen thing was absurd. He quoted a Modern Family episode and hip hop lyrics on Twitter. He called teams personally to set the record straight and his teammates (all of them) absolutely love him. You can’t tell me that a locker room with outspoken guys like Tre, Dawkins, LorAx, Shady, etc wouldn’t have put him on blast immediately if he harbored even a scintilla of racism as a 22 year old entering the league.
  14. I was 100% behind the idea that Kaep is free to express himself, and the owners are free to punish him as they see fit (within the law of course). I’m likewise 100% behind Fromm being allowed to say what he believes...and the team is free to punish him as they see fit (within the law of course).
  15. Thank you for always making sure people know how dumb they are for getting excited about the QB
  16. Wait, am I misremembering? Didn’t Tommy go to the warden and not Andy?
  17. Who wouldn’t? I mean I think we’re all on that train.
  18. We used any and all data to discuss Tyrod. I remember it well. My opinion on him never changed: he was good enough to win games with, but he was limited. You don’t feel that the situations are dramatically different? One was a 4-year vet when he came here who never improved as a passer. The other Has played 2 years and showed significant progress in year 2 despite a lackluster supporting cast. Thanks for the great analysis. This is helpful
  19. I’m also reminded of Tyrod—when he lead the NFL in 4th quarter comebacks and game winning drives, and ranked in the top 3 in 3rd down passer rating and 4th quarter passer rating. Wait...
  20. I don’t doubt that that’s true, but I haven’t seen the source of that stat. Can you post the link?
  21. Not sure if already posted: Looks like the WHO recommends mask use only when you have symptoms or are in the presence of someone with symptoms: https://www.who.int/emergencies/diseases/novel-coronavirus-2019/advice-for-public/when-and-how-to-use-masks Obviously this is different from CDC recommendations. @Hapless Bills Fan, any advice on this?
  22. And if I had compared Brees’ completion percentage in college to Allen’s then I could see why you’d be making this argument. I didn’t. I responded to a post from someone else as to whether certain skill sets can be developed vs being innate. I mentioned Brees as an example of a guy that made a meteoric improvement in one particular football trait and Brady as a guy that made a similar improvement in another. Then a different poster asked me to look at college stats from players that you said played a generation ago, so I responded.
  23. Let me see if I understand what you’re asking: you’re asking me to explain why another poster brought up passers “from a generation ago” (who all happen to still be playing by the way) to compare them to Allen? Or are you asking me why I responded to his question? Either way, I think that your response is targeting the wrong poster for what you are implying
  24. Indeed. The thing I’ve said about Allen from day 1 is that his issues are highly correlated to him rushing through his process. The game slowed down some for him in year 2, and if it continues to do so there’s no reason that an increased comfort level won’t translate to a smoother process more often.
