I loved the win. Excited that the season has been essentially reset. However, they are .500. Lets hold off the parade. This team is eternally at or just below .500. Banning posters because the bills won a game? Lame.

Who picked them again? Any gm worth anything would have told the bills to take a hike and would have teams "lining up" to hire him immediately (just like we heard with darcy regier). By some opinions here, his hands have been completely tied and bad decisions forced down his throat (ej, coaches)... but then when people start on russ brandon.... the accountability magically shifts again. Either way, this football program is broken

Whaley is really good at identifying defensive talent. Everywhere else he falls way short.

IMO, (hypothetically if they are at or near the top of the draft) if there isnt a clear cut QB the Bills are sold on, they should trade down.

Im kind of bored with the current alignment. A large part is probably being stuck with a juggernaut, but 15 years is an eternity for one format in the major sports. I would like it if they went with 4 conferences Lambeau Shula Buffalo Houston Cleveland Miami Pittsburgh Jacksonville Detroit Tampa Bay Cincinnati Carolina Chicago New Orleans Minnesota Atlanta Green Bay Tennessee Parcells Walsh New England Denver NY Giants Los Angeles Washington Seattle Philadelphia Kansas City Baltimore Oakland Dallas San Francisco Indianapolis San Diego NY Jets Arizona It is treated more like NCAA football. Play each Division team 1x. rotate home/away year to year. Pair up 1-2, 3-4, 5-6, 7-8 for an extra Divisional game to make 8 Divisional games. It would also keep teams at the top of the Division duking it out once more each season. Then 4 from your other conference Division with typical home/away rotation, and 2/2 from each Division from the other conference with typical home/away rotation. Conference winners get byes. #2 and #3 in each division play in the wildcard round. Then play for the conference championships and re-seed for the final 4.

i agree with you. I hesitate to give them a label yet though and would rather wait until the dust settles. The organization seems to be undergoing continued turmoil since Ralph stepped away after the 2012 season. The Sabres had a similar thing happen and now it seems Pegula is just along for the ride. They want to be very involved in keeping players and their families happy and comfortable.

Its like having a house made of rotting wood and they keep putting fresh coats of paint on it, thinking it will withstand the elements.

I dont they get tyrod, roman, or mccoy... so i think the offense would have fallen short

He says that and goes on about how he is going on to build a winning football program, hiring coaches, being forward thinking, restoring Buffalo Bills football, creating a robust analytics department.... he has failed as a leader of this organization in every one of those aspects. I added another article that details how he had a huge role in the "search" (to use the term lightly) for Buddy Nix. How much in his presser did he talk about business? Nowhere does he sound like a 'yes man' (despite his brief and insincere disclaimer he throws around and then contradicts 10 seconds later and gets away with it).

there you go. CNY should be Bills territory if they were a halfway decent team. It seems to have eroded a great deal over the years and a lot of Jets fans since they had their camp in Cortland for awhile.

IMO, this is why the consultant position is sorely needed. Someone needs to guide Pegula to what a successful/winning front office structure is, as well as the appropriate role Ownership should play. This person would essentially re-brand and lend credibility for the organization to potential GMs, run the interview process, and find the guy to build the program. I don't see them attracting anyone worthwhile with the current structure, Brandon throwing his weight around, GM and Pres choosing a HC with the GM seemingly in the background, rumors of the owner meeting with players before a prominent (and probably less-deserving) coordinator gets fired... Tons and tons of leaks at the drop of a hat.... People have declined coming to the Bills, or even wouldnt consider it for years. Even had 2 young coaches walk away into the abyss instead of continue (and once with new ownership). The brand is tarnished as someone said.

Brandon seems to be the guy guiding the Pegulas through ownership and showing them the ropes. Maybe we should prefer a guy there who would tell them the hard truth as to why this is a really bad idea and to teach the Pegulas the 'right' way.... instead of just agreeing with what they say and/or providing misdirected guidance. Outside of Buffalo, it was pretty much universal scorn for this move, and I have to say, everything people said from the get-go has come to fruition

...or they can get paid a lot of money, and succeed, making them a household name at the helm of a winning football organization with a rabid fanbase and a good owner.
