  1. I dont they get tyrod, roman, or mccoy... so i think the offense would have fallen short
  2. Ill never forget the time a guy came to a message board saying jay mckee had a staph infection from dirty pads and would miss games 7 of the conference finals
  3. Rex Ryan could make a mint as a Madden type football media personality.
  4. too many question marks in the subject
  5. make another thread that says "Pegula to Sell Team to Rogers Family" and then give a hypothetical on Pegula selling the Bills in an alternate world plane \ would be a popular move
  6. He says that and goes on about how he is going on to build a winning football program, hiring coaches, being forward thinking, restoring Buffalo Bills football, creating a robust analytics department.... he has failed as a leader of this organization in every one of those aspects. I added another article that details how he had a huge role in the "search" (to use the term lightly) for Buddy Nix. How much in his presser did he talk about business? Nowhere does he sound like a 'yes man' (despite his brief and insincere disclaimer he throws around and then contradicts 10 seconds later and gets away with it).

  8. there you go. CNY should be Bills territory if they were a halfway decent team. It seems to have eroded a great deal over the years and a lot of Jets fans since they had their camp in Cortland for awhile.
  9. IMO, this is why the consultant position is sorely needed. Someone needs to guide Pegula to what a successful/winning front office structure is, as well as the appropriate role Ownership should play. This person would essentially re-brand and lend credibility for the organization to potential GMs, run the interview process, and find the guy to build the program. I don't see them attracting anyone worthwhile with the current structure, Brandon throwing his weight around, GM and Pres choosing a HC with the GM seemingly in the background, rumors of the owner meeting with players before a prominent (and probably less-deserving) coordinator gets fired... Tons and tons of leaks at the drop of a hat.... People have declined coming to the Bills, or even wouldnt consider it for years. Even had 2 young coaches walk away into the abyss instead of continue (and once with new ownership). The brand is tarnished as someone said.
  10. Brandon seems to be the guy guiding the Pegulas through ownership and showing them the ropes. Maybe we should prefer a guy there who would tell them the hard truth as to why this is a really bad idea and to teach the Pegulas the 'right' way.... instead of just agreeing with what they say and/or providing misdirected guidance. Outside of Buffalo, it was pretty much universal scorn for this move, and I have to say, everything people said from the get-go has come to fruition
  11. ...or they can get paid a lot of money, and succeed, making them a household name at the helm of a winning football organization with a rabid fanbase and a good owner.
  12. A good GM wont even want to work here with the current structure. If Brandon is involved in a process, they would 'settle' on a GM who agrees to the groupthink. IMO they will keep Whaley and heap everything on Rex as their next scapegoat and act like he was some sort of foreign body who infected their team against everyone's will (as they do with all their scapegoats). They will look for a new coach and the team will be careful to make Whaley appear to be at the forefront of the search (with Brandon and Pegula in the background). Its predictable
  13. He is getting it done and is a good stopgap, while they pile up and assess QB prospects. They also caught on to the rest of the NFL that a "mobile QB" is out of style.
  14. There is an ongoing feud between PSE and TBN... but it seems to have settled a lot in the past year or so. Pegula hit the scene and wanted TBN to write good things about Tim Connolly and TBN laughed at him and was overly negative about the status quo (and correct). IMO The Sabres stonewalled TBN quite a bit and it was easy to observe any news about the Sabres were reported by out of area sources (WGR was involved in this as well). Since WGR has become a partner of the Bills, they have been given more access it seems, but TBN still seems a little on the outside looking in. They gave Pegula his proper due when buying the Bills though and have been positive of the Sabres' prospects for the most part. With that said, I agree with Bucky on this. It isnt rocket science to win in the NFL. Philly is serious about doing it. Buffalo isnt.
  15. I would say no. If anything, I would say they haven't meddled enough.
  16. So do we just go with the status quo if this season crashes and burns? Fire the head coach... who chooses a new one? Do we trust Pegula/Brandon/Whaley who brought Rex? Brandon/Whaley who brought Marrone? I like Whaley for the most part... but to me, it doesn't seem like he runs a tight ship. Always seems pretty laid back and nonchalant. Not necessarily a bad thing, but for a position like that, I would prefer someone a little higher strung. He is very good at finding defensive players (although the defense is burning down). He has yet to find any real offensive players to the point that there are major depth issues across the board, and it doesn't look to get much better Even if they keep Whaley and/or Rex, there is going to be an ultimatum, real or implied, which will cause people to act in a way that is not the best for the Bills' future. That is what brought about the Watkins trade and I am sure they would possibly reach in the 2017 draft and offseason. Maybe double down and keep Tyrod around when it wouldnt be great for the future. IMO the best thing they can do is bring in someone from the outside with no connections and empower them to build from the top down. The sooner they do it, the better. It IS going to happen. It is whether we want to wait a few more years of this to get started or not
  17. The Bills were an "up and coming" team who just won 9 games and added a lot of "talent". They are going backwards. I am all for continuity, but the house is rotted and the foundation is cracked. It doesnt mean we need to live there hoping it magically gets better. I do not want to see Rex fired and swapped with a new coach. I would like to see more structural fixes. Maybe they turn it around and look good getting close to .500. Then I could see giving it another shot. As of now though it is a tire fire.
  18. OK, but they were trending down and looked to hit bottom under Rex Ryan. One year they hit 10 wins, something that seems like an impossible dream here. So if Rex Ryan was kept in New York, continuity would have created additional wins last year and they would have made the playoffs at 11, 12, or 13 wins? Kubiak won the Superbowl in his 1st year
  19. He would have to be in a high role like President or at least President of the Football-Wing of the team. Free to build and change everything to his liking. That would rock the boat of the old/current guard here too much and I dont see the Bills offering that.
  20. What about the Jets? Bowles won 10 games last year emerging from Ryan's smoldering mess. They came in last week and had their way with the Bills in nearly every facet. Also came an inch from beating a very good Bengal team (who dissected the Bills last year).
  21. IMO, interview Caserio, make him very, very well paid, and most importantly, give him the keys to the car, promising nearly limitless resources to building scouting, conditioning, A/V, etc.
  22. I like Frank Reich. wouldnt want him to hurt his career so, no
  23. If they battle back to 7 or 8 wins I can see them keep the staff intact for sure. However, the current trajectory falls short of that. Those were 2 of their 'easier' games, and the Jets completely kicked their teeth in. If the team continues on this path, I wouldn't be surprised to hear some drama between players, players/coaches, Whaley and Ryans jockeying to avoid blame, etc. It started to percolate last season, and IMO the whole culture here with the Ryan Bros' style and the management structure is a perfect storm for that
  24. There is 'cheating' going on to a point. They know what they can get away with and do. Been going on in all sports forever. Other teams need to get with the times IMO. Overall it is just an organizational commitment to win and gear everything towards winning. A close play and I'm sure there are people who have a job to quickly review the play and relay to Belichick whether or not the call is reversible. Belichick knows a 'chart' and wont challenge when it is silly (like a 4 yard gain on 2nd down). Here, we have Rex Ryan craning his neck looking at the jumbotron while players are lobbying in his ear. I believe they review everything to make sure the odds in every situation are in their favor, and that includes some things that are against the rules. It also includes bending the rules with some clock play and formations (innovation). They have a culture and players who put in the work. Talent from one team to the next isn't that different. It is all preparation. It also seems like they do not tolerate self-imposed mistakes like taunting penalties and celebrations. Its a tight ship too. The fact that a player punched Revis out in a practice and nobody hears a peep for almost 2 years is very impressive. Here, Rappaport would be tweeting about it before Revis' head hit the ground. I desperately want our owner to emulate that
  25. This sums it up pretty well, i agree. I dont think the qb is quite plug and play though. The qb needs to be big and have a decent arm... but more importantly needs to have the drive and work ethic. Jp losman would never work out there.
