  1. There seems to be a lot of that, and it has increased dramatically since ralph "stepped aside" on jan 1, 2013. And just because pegula makes a statement that they are cohesive and rex runs the ship doesnt necessarily make it so. That is the narrative the organization wants everyone to think, whether it is actually the case or not. I actually dont care who made the call. Either way its clown shoes.
  2. things looking up for the indians as well
  3. I dont even care. I just want to attend meaningful and exciting football games that go late into the season. Its getting on towards two decades. I know several (many?) Bills fans who have died during this drought.
  4. They kind of went through this with the sabres though. Darcy Regier's biggest flaw is he is a bleeding heart. He loathes trading players and thinks deeply into the human aspect of uprooting individuals and families. It is speculated he quit the Coyotes due to the John Scott treatment (good for him). Now you have Tim Murray, who basically refers to players only by their last name at the draft, trading guys as he sees fit. The Pegulas still have their dignitary/human role. Evander Kane and his parents were floored that his first day in town, the owners met with them... i guess he had more face time with ownership here in one day than years in ATL/WIN. There is another anecdote of a player brought in a couple years ago, and the Pegulas basically loaned his family a Pegula family car to use indefinitely while they got acclimated. You look at the Patriots/Garappolo and it does not look good for the AFC East. We cant just wait for Brady's clock to run out. The best hope is to build an organization to emulate/compete with the Patriots and this would be the way. Their philosophy of personnel, preparation, and over-professionalism is dead-on.
  5. I know you hate the word 'czar', but essentially, its a semantic thing. Caserio can fill that role as well as GM. I would be in full support of his hiring, as long as the organization provided the reins to him in totality and he is basically a Donahoe (TBH that's probably the only way he accepts the position). I would be all for that, especially if he likes and brings in Josh McDaniels.
  6. A path worth considering.... depending on where ownership wants to go this year: Get Bradford or someone like that in. Experience and is good enough. Good 'bridge' QB like Fitz is for the Jets. Can play competitively while you stack up QBs and find/groom the right one. No to Kelly. Doesnt seem to have the goods... actually reminds me of Fitz. Is a good gunslinger who seems prone to major catastrophe when games and moments are big. In fact, if I am high in this draft and Im not sold on one of the QBs, I trade down for quantity.
  7. I know, but whenever I criticize his role in the current and past state of this football 'organization' I am stonewalled with people calling him a "marketing guy", and directed by articles and quotes that say he has nothing to do with the football team whatsoever.... but instead I consistently see reminders that he is and has been right there with his hand in the perpetual failure
  8. "Sal Capaccio’s series of tweets and subsequent article suggested the Roman firing was a long-time coming. And while Capaccio confirmed Rex was indeed not in the room with the Pegulas during their meetings with players, the owners conversational sessions with players has been commonplace for a while now. Also Rex, Doug Whaley and Russ Brandon meet with the players on a weekly basis." Why is the "marketing guy" having weekly meetings with the players? Where is whaley through this Greg Roman drama? Maybe the football department can be mended before we can and hire new coaches.
  9. Sal was on WGR and talked himself into a few holes trying to spin it. Was pretty funny. Actually got to the point to say that the Bills FO gave Tyrod Taylor the contract as a message to Greg Roman to utilize him better. Haha
  10. Trading down is the best move if they arent sold on a qb. Will get a lot of picks spanning multiple years for that
  11. This was supposed to be their "window" too
  12. An important benefit of hiring a consultant is: it makes a statemebt that the bills are changing and it lends credibility to the organization. As it is now, i think they get a lot of uninterested candidates. And no to banner
  13. I think most people are talking about a "czar" in that manner. Basically a guy to steer this thing onto the right track and walk off
  14. Im not sure if there has been a team so entrenched with a bad structure and personnel... and so unwilling to change and get with the times. And the jets brought in 2 'czars' after idzik/ryan and things are looking much brighter for them than the bills... already.
  15. I know you disagree and it comes full circle... but i do not trust the process if russ brandon is sitting at the table interviewing gm candidates.
  16. Bob kraft was a huge football fan and a patriots season ticket holder back to the afl days. And essentially his czar was bb anyways. Was allowed to become the sheriff and rebuild a stagnant franchise. Kraft handed him the keys to the car and goes along for the ride, holding up lombardis.

  18. What football philosophies to the pegulas possess? They are green and need help. This whole rex ryan disaster proves that. Nobody in the organization currently should be providing the sorely needed help.
  19. Not necessarily in a gm role for sure. I think he would be a good choice to be a teacher to the pegulas. Can probably give them a lot of insight on effective and non-effective things owners do. Can build the framework of the football program and aid with finding the gm
  20. Its bs spin by the team. Every mouthpiece of the team (murphy, jones, brown, sal) beat us over the head with the "offense is fine, its just a matter of whether or not the defense can improve"... and furthermore the team went all in for defense in the draft. Now the spin has shifted to "roman didnt like it here and has been the problem for 18 games". This franchise has been doing this for too long. Way too easy to see through them
  21. So they knew last season, but instead of making the move they "knew" was right, they decided on ruining another season. And lets not forget we went from a top 5 defense to.... this in 18 games
  22. Whaley seems very good at identifying defensive prospects. I would give him an A or a B in that realm. There are a lot of Ds and Fs such as identifying offensive talent, team makeup, coaching staff/scheme matching his personnel, cap allocation/management, and ultimately team performance.
  23. Seemed like a very tame tailgate and crowd. Was shocking for both a home opener and a night game. Seemed like everyone was pretty beaten down by the prospects of this year not being any different
  24. Cb were bad. They were left on an island though with the defense stacking the box like buddy ryan and not getting pressure or stopping the run. With current defending passes rules, they would need to be magicians to look good. When "help" was provided, it came from duke willams or corey graham and they are turrible
  25. Its not a sustainable model. Injuries will happen. The rest of the nfl figured it out in 2012
