  1. I cant believe I forgot that place! Oh and what about Sambos?
  2. Some people just dont have anything positive to say at all. I grew up in Tonawanda so we didnt feel the pain as bad as the southtown folk felt from the steel mill closing- tough times for sure. My dads in tampa also- hes in the brandon Bills Backers. When I was gone for 21 years I too would love to run into people from Buffalo- so much pride for sure- great post go Bills. PS the "tool" runs a business in Buffalo yet talks trash about the place and the people. Wonder if he has the balls to state what his business is?
  3. Glad you liked it and enjoy your time here- we are very hospitipal and love people enjoying what we have to offer. If you get a second home and spend some more time here you will most likely really enjoy. The summer has free concerts in a few loactions and just loads of festivals, great parks, world class fresh water fishing, hiking, and anything else you may enjoy. If you can think of something your looking for and dont know where shoot me a message.
  4. I remember reading an article long ago that Buffalo was the number 1 segregated city in the country. The article went on to inform the readers that the segregation wasnt black/white. The segregation was across the board and it was chosen, not forced. For instance much of the irish settled South Buffalo, Italians on the west side (small pocket on the east side), Black/Polish on the east side. I dont recall anyone being forcibly segregated and you cant look at affordability as a force out either- the city has been affordable to live in each of the sides, of course some areas within the area are pricier than others but thats everywhere. Im proud to be from Buffalo and personally I am glad I moved back. My future is bright here. Lets also remember something- the days of getting a high paying job without a college education/skill set or military experience are just about over in many parts of the country, not just Buffalo. Its kinda why College etc.. Is preached now. Haha baked cake- nice analagy
  5. Well said! I try to look at the positives and I see alot of it around me.
  6. Unfortunately thats as far as they have gone except one in Charlotte, I think? Thank you for the link- great read. I dont think Wegmans could make it in the deeper south, primarily due to bad work ethic and poor customer service, but that is my opinion only.
  7. I did the same about Wegmans when I lived down south and no one understood how awful their grocery stores really were.
  8. What a fantastic ending! The one bad thing- Arizona throwing when trying to burn clock, thats was all the time Rogers needed to get in position and complete that hail mary. Thanks for the links!
  9. I work at the Buffalo VA and also go to school on the West Side. The turn around is great to see. Ive had the opportunity to work in the Medical Corridor as well. People tend to leave out the wonderful services that you can receive in the area. Some should check out high point for a reality check. Roswell is truly amazing as well. Women and Childrens, when complete will be the icing on the cake. Oh and another terrible thing to note- the growth of UB that is the hub of the SUNY system. How terrible that a college is now 30k students and will end up being 50k in 4 more years or so. Also, im with you-I will take some snowstorms over the numerous hurricanes I went through when I lived in NC and Florida.
  10. Wegmans is just an added bonus to a great place to live.
  11. LOL I love me some Wegmans! The 911 has fantastic wings! Your welcome
  12. I hope your able to return - best of luck.
  13. Super nice- canalside is beautiful and riverworks is very cool.
  14. I have a feeling a new stadium isnt going to happen. Tons of tax dollars have been poured into the city and I cant see anymore coming our way anytime soon- not that I am against a new stadium but fiscally it isnt the best move.
  15. Your welcome, anytime!
  16. A little off topic but a great 10 minute video by the still hot Katie Couric of our amazing city, enjoy. http://buffalo.com/2016/01/15/featured/katie-couric-yahoo-release-video-titled-buffalos-big-comeback/
  17. This article doesnt have alot of metrics in it but sheds a little light. http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/super/2014/01/30/super-bowl-nfl-revenue-denver-broncos-seattle-seahawks/5061197/
  18. I dont think the NFL TV contract is as simple as you think it may be and that isnt a dig at you, it has to be very complex. This is big big business my friend and much more complex than my brain can handle. I am not an expert in the matter I just know that there is alot of money to made off the TV contract in larger markets where population factors into revenue. I wish someone would chime in with detailed knowledge of the contract. The 20 year deal is bizarre for sure, most large markets just dont lose their teams right? I know the other 2 teams that were there lacked support and it was before the TV contract had been changed/re-done, I think? I do know that LA/Orange County have been fighing over a new stadium for many years and finally they have the go ahead to build-3 years and it will be ready.
  19. I will get back to you on that with some of the contract information. I believe, and I am using believe loosely, that the more people within an NFL city the more the NFL will receive from the networks- the networks are getting more dinero from advertisements during the games therefore more money is kicked up to the NFL. I am not an expert however it seems kinda common sense to me. There is a reason the NFL has been itching to get back into the LA market and its not just a robust fanbase, IMO. Time will tell right? It would be nice to see them supported, but I dont see that happening. LA is a baseball/college football town.
  20. The sad reality is this- the NFL doesnt care that half the population wont support the Rams. It is all about the TV contract.
  21. Everyones got to start somewhere, why not have one of the best from a winning organization come aboard?
  22. Next season I plan to come on over and meet all you guys- and do the infamous shot out of the bowling ball
  23. It is going to get diluted even further as their is less kids playing football these days.
  24. We shouldnt judge but im not heartbroken over someone who is a deteriment to society not around anymore. He did things that are unacceptable within our social norms.
