  1. I love this kid already! Everything about him from his pre-draft visit, interviews, meeting Tre, wanting the playbook on the plane, etc just screams someone whose determined to be the best player he’s capable of at the next level. And this is exactly the kind of player that thrives with our coaches. I don’t know the future, but I feel like he’s going to be a great player for us and can’t wait to see him on the field.
  2. Here is the thing. It’s not a reach. Anyone calling it reach is just making that up. Nobody here is qualified to grade these players. Mel Kiper isn’t either. So people are calling it a reach because everything people here know about him is what they read about from unqualified internet and media people giving him a guess of a grade. No teams draft board looks like the next teams either. Our front office placed a grade on him for how he fits in their plans and system. They do not know how the other teams graded him or where they might take him. So based on how we graded him we took him where they felt comfortable taking him based on how he graded against all the remaining players they had on the board. Just like people falsely claiming we reached for Elam. Which is non sense when Beane literally said he was the only guy on their board left with a first round grade. Which means had he taken any of the other players some people wanted him to take Beane would have actually been reaching because they were literally all graded lower than Elam by Beane and his staff as a second round player or less. And when you get down to the 3rd round and later, these grades vary even more wildly from team to team. And media grades and mocks literally have no value in how a team grades a player. FWIW: No one thought much of the Milano pick either at the time it was made and most didn’t even know who he was.
  3. Ha I only saw the one. I don’t know what to say if someone didn’t enjoy that. I mean I feel like you almost have to hate fun to hate that.
  4. Houston Texans are a team are a team who I really like what they have done so far in the draft. Means nothing until they hit the field, but on paper it’s been a strong draft IMHO.
  5. I will say this…Jets had an excellent draft based on what we know today before anyone steps on the field. But…once they step on the field, they are still the Jets. How many times did Browns look like they had an excellent draft and then were still the browns. Also not first time Jets appeared to have a strong draft just to prove they still are the Jets.
  6. I hope this is sarcasm because that was epic. And I’m 45 and been a die hard Bills fan (with never even going to Buffalo until 2021) 35 years.
  7. Cook won’t start, Devin will. But Cook will play a lot and is going to make a big impact this season as a receiving weapon out of the backfield. Him and Devin already work out together in the off-season and are going to be a great 1-2 punch for us. IMHO it’s gonna look a bit like Ingram and Kamara did for the Saints
  8. Yeah not sure he specified a number, just was definitely lower than where we picked is all I was getting at
  9. I don’t remember if he said specifically how many first round grades he had, but I read or listened to something where he said or implied he didn’t have 25 first round grades. So it was less than 25
  10. He said it leading up to the draft as well
  11. Kiper is wrong a lot more than he is right. His fellow mock draft “expert” Mayock just might be the worst GM of the last 20 years too. Who cares what Kiper thinks
  12. Geezus you people over react and and force too much conspiracy theory stuff into everything. All evidence shows he’s excited to be here. Stop pushing this false narrative
  13. Seriously have you even not complained about a Bills move ever?
  14. Don’t forget Davis, Dawkins, Levi, Taron, Dane, and Milano. McBeane has been better than most at the very least of not the best.
  15. Stop using all this logic and facts. It interferes with the base less, fact less, and pointless whining for the sake of whining around here.
  16. So why don’t the fans trust the front office knowing more than them that just turned a 2 decade losing franchise into a perennial playoff team and SB contender with probably the best roster in the NFL? Had they listened to the fans, Josh Rosen would have been our QB and we wouldn’t have Diggs or Tre White. And let’s be real, not only is this the best shot at a SB for the Bills in nearly 30 years, it might be the best shot in franchise history. Those SB teams played in a weak AFC where the truly elite teams were in the NFC. Now, AFC is the powerhouse side and we are arguably the best team In the AFC with no team in the NFC really being that scary to meet in the SB. So people should realize by now, our FO knows what they are doing.
  17. I think Stevenson is penciled in at this point, but not in pen obviously. His ability to return kicks isn't really something someone else is threatening to take away from him as we sit today, although lot of drafting still to come that could bring in competition for that. I don't think they plan to use McKenzie as a returner this year, although I thought he did a pretty good job last year at it.
  18. Want to know what the dumbest thing anyone can say about any draft pick? We only got the "X" best player at "X" position. That is such a ridiculous statement to make on draft night. Take WR for example, 7 of the top 10 WR's were NOT taken in the first round, were NOT close to being the first couple WRs taken in their respective drafts. This includes our own Diggs, Adams, Kupp, Hill, etc. Prospects are graded, and what can separate a guy from going first round and third round can be splitting hairs in some cases, teams passing over other needs or players at other positions sliding, etc etc.. There are a certain amount of players coming out every year at each position, and people have to arbitrarily rank them, and EVERYONE ranks them DIFFERENT, and mocks drafts are pre draft rankings are never remotely accurate...literally never. For any poster to sit here and complain well now we have to settle for the "Xth best WR" (or whatever position) on the board is being foolish. You have no idea how good or not that player will be at the next level. Nobody knows how these guys will pan out, and every team looks at them differently for their own systems, fit, and style of play...not to mention people range in grading skills across the NFL too. The draft is entirely about finding value, and truly successful NFL teams are ones who build their teams in the middle rounds, thats what separates teams who win consistently or not. And the best part...our FO took a perennial losing franchise for almost 2 decades and got them immediately in the playoffs and are now not just a playoff team, but probably the best roster in the NFL and a major SB favorite with a perennial MVP candidate on the roster.
  19. People need to move on man. Seriously, all this whining over a 4th round pick used to get the best player on Beanes board is approaching "Wrong Josh" levels...or "We way overpaid for Diggs" levels. I mean seriously, all this same nonsense happened when we traded for Diggs and people lost their minds over that extra 4th that was included. Then Diggs shut you all up. Just like Josh Allen shut you all up. Just like Tre White shut you all up when you freaked out we traded down and took him. You would think people would learn after being wrong so many times about these freak outs to trust the fact they don't know a fraction of what our Front Office does and that pissing and moaning to know end after a pick or trade is unbelievably premature and pretty pointless. Bottom line, he was the only player on Beanes board worthy of a first round selection, so he went and got him. Everything about this kid is exciting from his speed, size, skills, and most importantly his apparent work ethic and commitment to being the best he can be from all we have seen and heard from him so far. So make it stop already...move on, who cares about this stupid 4th round pick if Elam becomes a high end corner opposite Tre for years to come. And don't think I didn't notice many of the people freaking out in the Elam thread are literally some of the same people who ironically spent the past 3 years complaining about Levi Wallace and Dane Jackson and how we needed a better corner too.
  20. Good post, nice to see people come back and look at it rationally even if they initially were not on board. Also keep in mind, the trade up wasn’t just to get ahead of Dallas (although both Balt and Dal were capable of taking a corner there), but the first round had trades firing left and right. And everyone and their mom knew Buffalo really needed a corner. So if anyone wanted a corner, they would need to trade ahead of us to get one. Our trade up was about making sure someone didn’t move ahead of us to take him. You know how I feel, I love the pick. I personally thought it would be Booth as I thought he seemed more like a McD style fit, but I also loved Elam. We got size and speed with him, and the 2020 version of him would have made him probably the a top 15 pick. But 2021 they struggled as a team overall and he battled through a knee injury so he had a slightly lesser year as a result (although still very good). This kid seems dedicated to being great too from what I have read about him so far too. He seems like the kind of player we will help develop to his full potential, and having him and Tre on opposite sides for the next several years might become the best tandem in the league if he does.
  21. Have fun wining 5 games at his year and battling NE for last place
  22. Im all for getting Allen more help too, just saying this notion that the defenses can’t stop elite QBs and offenses no matter what is just not accurate at all.
