More embarrassing ‘true confessions’
Mark80 replied to Ridgewaycynic2013's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Not mine, but my sister once asked in complete seriousness how they get the seeds out of a seedless watermelon. As if they somehow opened it up, removed the seeds and then sealed it back up for sale. -
Bills Should Be Judicious in Free Agency
Mark80 replied to racketmaster's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
With the Rookie pay scale as it is and the ever growing salary cap, it is basically a given that virtually all FAs are significantly overpaid. In our current situation I am OK with overpaying them, but they have to do so with front loaded deals where the cap impact is the highest next year and then tapers off. That flies in the face of a typical contract, but I can't see a player arguing against getting more of their money sooner. -
Definitely did. Two TDs for sure. But man, that speed and agility is electric. Reminds me so much of Tyreek Hill. I think his full body of work shows that he does not have tremendous hands issues, but he's certainly never going to be DeAndre Hopkins in that respect.

Me as well. I use 3 mg, sometimes 6 mg. I do, however, feel groggy in the AM sometimes. Not nearly as bad as w/ prescribed sleep aids like Ambien which made me feel completely worthless until the afternoon. Also, cutting down TV / Screen time before trying to fall asleep and definitely don't try to fall asleep with the TV on.

Draft Day - Allen was the guy I wanted least out of the 5 projected first rounders. Being the homer that I am I was on board as soon as we picked him (this was the exact same scenario with EJ for me). Now my perspective has completely changed. This kid has something special. Not only is his talent off the charts, but he has the intangibles too. This guy can lead a team (haven't seen this at all from Darnold or Rosen yet, have seen it from Mayfield and Lamar though). Guys seem to respond to him and like him a lot. So much more so than just watching Tyrod on the bench every week not talking to anyone or celebrating with anyone. Just sitting there. Josh is pumping up the D, celebrating with the team, truly leading. So excited to see what he can do with another year of development and adding additional talent around him this off-season.

Buffalo needs a complete rebuild on Offense
Mark80 replied to Socal-805's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Barry Sanders in his prime would have been ineffective with this line. Shady will bounce back next year with the Oline overhaul. And Zay Jones has been emerging as an effective receiver when he doesn't drop the ball. -
Bills sign Derek Anderson to extension
Mark80 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Uh, apparently you don't understand that he can do the exact same thing as a coach and that our roster is limited to only 53 players regardless of what our cap situation is. -

You can pay a coach any amount you want. Uh, did you watch DA play this year. Why in the world would you ever want to see him on the field again? He is flat out terrible and has been for a very long time. Only 53 roster spots. Taking up one of those with someone who should never see the field is a waste IMO. Pay him what you want to coach, give him flexible scheduling. Who cares? -

I don't get it really. He is terrible as a QB. Why not just add him to the coaching staff? The guy should never be on the field again IMO. -
I use this one mostly. Just don't allow notifications and close the pop ups that come up like 50% of the time and it works pretty well. Rarely do I get a song that it won't convert. I also use it on firefox. https://www.flvto.biz/youtube-to-mp3/

Potential Cut Candidate: Gerald McCoy?
Mark80 replied to DCOrange's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Don't really follow the Bucs so I'm not sure how high of a level he is still playing at. Certainly know he was excellent in the past. We have so much money that we will never be able to spend it all. This is the perfect time to sign impact guys to front loaded deals while we have so much space. That way you don't put yourself in a bad spot a few years down the road. Players love front loaded deals since they get more money sooner. Teams with space love them so they don't screw themselves down the road with bad contracts. Win/win in my book. And obviously we have new vacancy at the position and you can never have too many quality DL to rotate in and out and keep fresh legs out there. -
No, he would not. He's a true freshman, not RS. He is eligible after Junior season. Tua would be though.

Except this hit was textbook legal, the defender was just not paying attention. Landry blindsided Aaron.

How much coffee is too much coffee?

1/2 pot of black as soon as I get up. Water the rest of the day. Drinks sporadically. Works for me. -
Kyle Williams was overrated imo...
Mark80 replied to BuffaloBud420's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Funny. OP is clearly a poser. Any real pot head would not cause such a polarizing thread. We are into peace love and happiness. Not trolling and being a d*ck. -
Agreed, that is why I said "if the job is worth it to you still." I would not be battling it out in the legal system unless it was a job that I really loved or I knew I wouldn't be able to find another one with similar compensation if I left (or was forced to leave).

Take this with a seed of caution. I am not a lawyer. I have been to law school and have done a lot of pre-law courses in undergrad and law school dealing with labor / employment law. These laws vary from state to state (as you are seemingly aware). Again, I am NOT a practicing attorney though. Here are my thoughts. If this job is worth it to you still, you should lawyer up. Often times just getting a letter from an attorney threatening to take further action is enough to get an employer of your back because they realize you are smart enough to not get pushed around. It won't cost too much for just a consultation and letter. If you have to take actual legal action, then it could start getting expensive. However, if you have a solid case you can get Lawyer's fees as part of your case so you could potentially pay nothing. As far as your case goes. You are only protected Federally by the FMLA for 12 weeks. Once that time frame of work taken off is done, they have no duty to keep your job (or a similar one) available for you. Your best bet here is probably going with the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) instead. This requires employers to "reasonably" accommodate the needs of employees with disabilities. The "reasonably" part is where it gets cloudy as there are many interpretations as to what that means. So, they need to do their part to make sure you are comfortable and can put in the required work hours to maintain employment, in a nutshell. As far as violating their own internal policies. There is usually not a law against that, especially in Employment at Will states. Employee handbooks, for example, are not considered binding contracts in most states. So, if they don't follow their usual policies that doesn't matter UNLESS they are doing it in a discriminatory fashion against someone of a protected class. Someone on disability would be a protected class in most cases. Hope that helps a little, and sorry for your pain. Foot issues are terrible and so painful.

Report: Jets to pursue Jim Harbaugh for HC
Mark80 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed. His career is really not that impressive. He won at Stanford...when they had Andrew Luck, the best QB prospects since the early 80s. Not impressed. He won with the 49ers...after Mike Singletary did all the dirty work for that team first and got the roster and team discipline set for him. Harbaugh came and they seemed to get worse and worse each year. Went from 13-3 first year to 8-8 in 4th year. He's turned around Michigan....Michigan continues to get top ranked recruiting classes (arguably from advantages that are very NE Pats like as far as manipulating rules in setting up such as practice trips to exotic European destinations), yet they always choke it away in the big games. He has yet to beat their arch rival when that is the single most important thing for their program to do each year. This includes a 62 point performance given up by their vaunted defense this season. Ugh. He is the most overrated NFL / College coach I have ever seen. -
This is untrue. Research points to roughly 10% of users becoming mentally addicted. I would put myself in that boat. Physical addiction, however, is not being shown in studies. I consider a pot head anyone who lets using MJ get in the way of their work/family/school obligations. To me, it's not the same as a habitual / daily user. I dabble into the pot head waters every so often, have to take a break for a few weeks / month, and then get back on track as a "normal" daily user.

AFC Superbowl Window Opening For Everyone..(minus NE) ?
Mark80 replied to corta765's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Where in the world do you come up with comparing Mason Rudolph to Aaron Rogers? Dude has never even played a snap yet and he was a 3rd round pick for a reason. This is just crazy talk.
