  1. I don't see any cars in the left lanes getting covered in the first video, but the second video makes it look like there should be. Are these the same avalanche?
  2. Dude is slow though.
  3. I was starting to lose my excitement since it has been too long. Then I went and watched the previous season again a few weeks ago, and am back on board. The question is, can they live up to the hype?
  4. WTF did I just read?
  5. Allen is one of the best blocking TEs in the league. And he does have some catching skills. I remember him making some plays back at Clemson for sure.
  6. He certainly has been laid out a few times.
  7. When I was there, Hotel School had the highest drop out rates and the most flunked class at the university....Wines. People would take it thinking it was going to be fun and easy to learn about wine and drink samples. They were in for a big surprise when they didn't have the palate to distinguish types and notes.
  8. Getting pooped on by a bird is good luck. Happened to me once in Toronto walking into a Jays game. Saw an amazing game where Carlos Delgado won it in the bottom of the 9th with a walk off HR. Then went to second city and had a fantastic time, then went to some random blues / jazz bar that was phenomenal. After going back to the hotel and having another drink or two in my friends room I head off to bed. Less than 5 mins later there is a knock on the door. My friends friend that was a girl (not girlfriend) who I met just that day is at the door with a bottle of rum asking if I want to have a nitecap. Suffice to say the visit was not all about the drink. This is NOT the sort of thing that happens to me typically. I've been running under birds hoping to get pooped on again ever since.
  9. When I was there, most classes had a service available where you could pay to get the lecture notes. Also, most lecture PPT slides were available online. Finally, my major (ILR) was a lot of stuff repeated year after year after year in various classes. I mean, how many levels of Organizational Behavior classes do you really need? Same with Labor Law and Collective Bargaining classes. The 400 level classes were basically the same as the 100 and 200 level ones. Also, I never claimed to get high grades or anything. I had friends in the Engineering school who had 4.0+ GPAs. They worked way harder than I did and it was reflected in their grades. I was fine getting by with my High 2s Low 3s. Nah, I just learned at a young age how to manipulate schooling to make it as easy as possible. And, just because I crammed and learned things in one day, doesn't mean I retained it for more than that day or two!
  10. I went to Cornell. I passed classes that I attended less than 5 times and studied for maybe one day for mid terms and finals when they came up. I also took classes such as Gamelan where I got 3 credit hours and an easy A for playing gongs. I mean, our final project was a concert on a gorgeous May day in Ithaca sitting Indian style on one of the quads. I had great professors, I had bad professors. Some classes were tougher than others, but overall, if you were just concerned with passing with a decent GPA, you didn't really have to do much, at least I didn't. I imagine its not much different from most well run Universities. This is probably very true. I got into a much better law school than I should have based on my GPA. I'm sure this and a good LSAT were the reason.
  11. I think the consensus has been more like mid/late 1st or early 2nd.
  12. Someone mentioned Keb Mo a few posts ago. He does a lot of stuff with Taj. Love this little tune. Blues / Reggae / Zydeco sound. Also, check out Keb and Taj doing Corinna, f it, i'll just post that too (if i haven't already). I mean how can you go wrong with lyrics like "got a rainbow round my shoulder, shine like silver, baby look like klondike gold" Epitome of coolness.
  13. Front end load some deals. Get the talent as early money is more attractive and keep yourself set up nicely for the future. This is a win-win IMO. Also could re-sign some guys early, again with front loaded deals.
  14. Could never get through the last season of Deadwood. Tried at least 3 times. First season is amazing, second season was good, then it lost me.
  15. Some comedies / sitcoms: Freaks and Geaks War at Home Happy Endings The Grinder
  16. Just picked up some Counter Culture Coffee - Big Trouble. It's so good that it inspired me find this thread and post about it. Loving it. Other recent tries: Teasia Coffee - Ethiopia Yirgacheffe: to me, this kind of smells and taste like tea. Unique for sure. Not a daily drinker, but i make some like once a week. Jamaican Blue Mountain - got some 100% authentic (or so they claim), non-blend. It's good, no doubt, but it didn't blow me away or anything. I wouldn't buy myself, but getting as a gift is nice. I prefer the Counter Culture Coffee one over it.
  17. Looked like a totally different player this year than last year. That's scary to me. But then again, in 3/4/5 range, are you going to get much better?
  18. What about at 5'10 1/8? Some people here (in other threads I think) were saying he was 5'7". Knew that was laughable. This guy is going #1 overall. I'm telling ya.
  19. Curious, how did this guys work on analytics work out for the Dolphins? Seems to me the Dolphins have been pretty crappy since 2015. There is a difference between understanding / creating analytics and actually applying them effectively to an organization.
  20. Drafting for need has one major issue in my opinion. A team could potentially take a player way too early by drafting for need and not optimize the picks value. The best case scenario would be to trade back and acquire more assets while still filling the position of need after the trade down. Unfortunately, it doesn't quite work like that. You never know when someone is going to take them and you don't always have an acceptable trade offer to get you to that spot. If I'm a GM, I'm rating all my players 0-100 scale. I'm doing the same with all the prospects. If I'm replacing someone I rate as a 60 (looking at you Oline), with someone I have rated as an 85 (gain of 25 points), I'm doing that over improving my safety position from a 85 to a 90. So, I'm taking the 85 rated OLine instead of the BPA, a 90 S since I already have two pretty good ones. It's not all cut and dry though. It depends on how big the gap is, what the contract status is of current players (more likely to draft replacements on expiring contracts or cut candidates), and the relative importance of the position. I don't think there is any organization that simply selects BPA or position of need. Its all fluid based on the situation.
  21. Me neither. And I just did. It's good, damn good. I can see why it's Hunter's favorite ever. Fits his personality perfectly. Herbie Mann also has the creepiest album cover of all time for Push Push. The song Push Push features a pretty well known guitarist that died way too young, Duane Allman. It's a fun little jam.
  22. Didn't read the facts of the case to know there was that set limit. Agree completely that 10x that statutory limit is excessive. Legislature needs to raise that number.
  23. Kind of surprised this wasn't settled law already, seems like a no brainer that would have been challenged in the past. Not sure I actually agree with this particular case, though. One could argue that $400 worth of heroin is plenty enough to cause someones death, especially if laced with anything. $40k is not an excessive fine with that in mind. Want to stop heroin / meth and other hard drugs? Make the penalties harsh. After all, being a bad behavior deterrent is one of the main reasons for a legal system in the first place. Agree with the SC ruling, disagree that this case was excessive.
  24. Mostly rarity. You get to a certain point with bourbon (and any alcohol really) where the quality levels off and they are all really damn good. But what makes things like this crazy expensive is how small the available quantities are. This distillery was bought by Buffalo Trace some years back in order to handle more production. It will be interesting to see what the prices will be after those barrels have aged and are ready for sale.
