  1. My thoughts exactly.
  2. Not a Bills one, but I've always enjoyed "Wilfork for Food"
  3. You are absolutely incorrect here man. These Universities, through the NCAA, conspired to keep the wages (i.e. scholarships and modest allowance) to their money making machines limited, not at what the market would allow in a free system. Since there is no other real alternative for these "employees" to get paid for their services, since they are banned from the NFL, it is a clear violation of their right to work, earn money, earn a living, while the Universities, the apparel companies, TV and news outlets, profit hand over fist over their work.
  4. It's about time. I look at it like this. NCAA is nothing more than an illegal monopoly over football for players between HS and 3 years out. They illegally restrict the ability of these adults to make a living which is in direct conflict with every Americans "unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness." Since most of these schools are Public University, the denial of these rights are even more intrusive then say if it were done by a private company. Free market place, fellas. These schools and these athletes should be able to do whatever they want.
  5. It's definitely nice to get a different conversation going around here, no doubt. On the Jets front, if you actually watch Geno Smith highlights (not to mention complete games) you will easily see that most of his yardage and big plays came from short screens and shuffle passes to his array of nasty weapons. His attitude, leadership qualities, aloofness, and misleading numbers led me to believe that he is just the continuation of the debacle that has become the Jets, and I love it. Way back when, when Geno skipped the Senior Bowl I mentioned in that thread that he is really only a 50/50 shot at being a first rounder and that it was a mistake to skip the Bowl. Plenty of posters claimed I was nuts at that time and that he was a lock to go in the first, if not first overall. Well, we all know how that played out. So, don't worry about being called nuts or crazy, maybe you'll be able to smirk when it's all over as well!
  6. Even though a game hasn't been played and training camp isn't even open yet, I have a feeling that he won't be considered our best receiver for long. Still love him though, he's going to be one of the best #2 WRs in the league.
  7. Well, you can start with Hill in week 3. 5/113/1. Who, exactly, is going to be throwing him these balls? Sanchez? Smith? Namath? No freaking way. Take out the week one travesty last season and Hill has exactly 16 receptions for 163 yards and 1 TD in his CAREER! Torrey Smith 100+ yards and 2 TDs? I don't think so. I feel you (and the Ravens) severely underestimate the importance of Bolden). Mike Wallace will go down as one of the worst FA signings of the off season and he'll be lucky to get over 50 yards in either game. Tanny is no Big Ben on any level. You also have Antonio Brown going 9/110/1. Brown had exactly 0 100 yard games last season and 9 receptions would tie a career high for him. Crazy. Only 2 receivers will have a legitimate shot to break 100, AJ and Julio, I think only one of them does it. Of course, some other receiver could, but you're listing 4 over 100 yard games (and 5 if you include Julio). That's just nuts, sorry.
  8. So you're saying that Gilmore will be giving up 70 Receptions for 1100 yards and 12 TDs? I had to fill in some of my own numbers based on your predictions as you only predicted full numbers in 75% or so of the cases. I think you're way off and he's going to be much more "shut down" than you're projecting. I see more in the range of 50 Receptions for 750 and 4 TDs and a possible Pro Bowl nod.
  9. Don't be fooled. That is only because the Sabres are the only ones that have put out a somewhat decent product in the last 15 years. Make no mistake about it, when the Bills win again you will see just how much this is a football town. I mean seriously, just look how much we have supported this garbage over the last X number of years. If the Sabres continued to be terrible for 13+ years do you think they would still have the support that the Bills currently have? I don't.
  10. In the south USC is South Carolina. The other "USC" is Southern Cal or the Trojans. Took a while for me to get used to that when I lived in North Carolina for a spell.
  11. Byrd highlights plus that song, I was so excited...then I watched it. What a disappointing video. Could have been so much better. Like 5 of his 18 picks over and over again and not one of his 10 Forced Fumbles, 5 of his Recoveries, or his 2 TDs. Not to mention other big hits and deflections.
  12. Vince Wilfork and whoever he plays next to should be on the list. He's a one man wrecking crew.
  13. I'm in, but I fall for whatever changes are made every off season. Draft picks, new coaches, guys coming back from injuries, FA signings. I've expected playoffs every season since the late 80s. This time, however, it does feel a bit different.
  14. You would do well to do some research on EJ's supporting offensive cast at FSU compared to that of Luck, RGIII, Wilson, Barkley, Bray, Smith, among others. Considering where the rest of the offensive players (especially skill positions) are being selected by the NFL at the other schools compared to FSU, it becomes pretty apparent that EJ got the most out of what he had to work with regardless of the caliber of defenses he was supposedly playing against. How many elite QBs have come out of the SEC lately playing against those tremendous defenses? Not many. That point is baseless.
  15. At best a 4th round pick? Seriously? Somebody's been watching a bit too much ESPN. He would have never made it to our second round pick. Period. End of story. The Jets or the Eagles would have taken him. Just because Mel Kiper and Todd McShay were clueless on where he would go (along with most of the rest of the draft) doesn't mean the pick was a blunder. If you can't be even a bit excited right now as a Bills fan, then what are you even doing here? Get over yourself man.
  16. Yes. People with the drive that he has have it whether they are a first or sixth round pick. He would always find something to motivate him. Heck, he probably still uses the inability to complete an undefeated season as his motivation now even after all he has accomplished; he is by no means complacent.
  17. While it may be a bad idea, I would certainly love watching it.
  18. I think I've given up on Easley, especially with the new guys coming in that look a lot more impressive at first glance. Should be an interesting ride this year.
  19. The only thing that I would have liked differently than what we did would have been to draft Lacy in the 2nd. I think he would be the perfect compliment to CJ in the running game. Even though his measurables weren't stellar, simply watching him run the ball (against very tough SEC and national competition) you can see that he is something very special. I would probably have taken him over Alonso and gone after Dansby to fill the LB slot. However, I do like Alonso a lot though and am perfectly happy that he was the selection. Been watching quite a few Oregon tapes and he makes, by far, the most plays on that D. Way more than Dion Jordon who is hardly even noticeable. Oh, and this "re-do" sucks.
  20. A few months back there was a thread titled "Geno Smith Skips Senior Bowl" or something along those lines. The vast majority of posters here were of the mindset that he was smart to skip it as he was a sure fire top 10 pick (or first round at the very least). To that I responded that if you really take a look at his numbers and especially how he played against the tougher competition that he was at best a 50/50 shot to go in the first round and he should play in the game to improve his draft status. I was laughed at, told I was out of my mind, called delusional, and all the other classy things some posters say. Well, EJ played in the senior bowl and by all accounts looked fantastic, rose up the charts and became the only QB drafted in the first round. Geno didn't go and, well, we all saw those awkward shots of him in the Green room. Unless you're a Luck type prospect, you should be in the Senior Bowl when invited.
  21. The more I think about the more I like the idea of taking Eiffert with our first pick and taking a QB with our second pick. Whether it's 8 and second round, or a trade back and trade up sort of move. I'm liking this move a lot.
  22. There is only one thing, really, that will cause a decline in football (or the NFL) in the near future; a giant class action lawsuit from former players regarding the NFL (or colleges) knowledge of injuries caused from the sport (namely long term effects of head trauma) and their intentional covering up of such knowledge in order to maintain profits and popularity. If documents exist that prove this, then football will be in trouble. Actual damages could be huge, punitive damages could be enormous, insurance rates would skyrocket, and real, game changing rule and safety equipment adjustments would be implemented to the detriment of the game. Until then, it will continue to dominate the American sports scene for decades to come and will most likely grow exponentially in new, foreign markets.
  23. They certainly could draft a QB, no doubt, but with Sanchez's bonus money remaining and the fact that his salary this season is guaranteed, they would lose money cutting him at this point. Quite possibly the worst football contract in recent memory.
