  1. Sorry, but the Big 10 just isn't what it used to be. 4th or 5th best football conference now. I'm just not in love with the talent on a middle of the road program in the rapidly declining talent pool of the Big 10. Unless they are OL, I'd stick to the SEC, Pac 10, Big 12, and ACC.
  2. Bills make round 1 selection. Both ESPN and NFL Network cut to commercial immediately. Return from break, next team selects.
  3. They have basically said they could trade up, they could trade down, or they could stay put. In a nutshell, they basically haven't said anything at all. And you know what? I believe them. If there is a player available that they want to trade up for and they think the asking price to do so is right, they'll do it. If they are sitting at 9 and like someone there without having any offers that are too good to pass up, they'll draft there. If they are sitting on the clock and someone sees their player has fallen and they must trade up for him (Donald? Barr? Evans? Ebron?), well maybe they'll offer a great package and we trade down. I believe any scenario is equally as likely to happen at this point and I'm ok with all of them.
  4. It's not that it was too long, it was impossible to follow. I think comparing Marge Schott is not the thing to do here. She made her comments roughly 25 years ago. Totally different era. Comments like that, while certainly frowned upon, we're not as big of a deal as they are today. Things like that were simply not thought of as harshly 25 years ago. Add to that the impact of social media where the league / players / figures can see directly the fans opinions on the matter in their voices, thousands of times over and over, ad neaseum basically. Previously it really only came from the media (who used to move on after a day or two, now they linger for weeks and months on certain stories.) Finally, what Marge said was not about 90% of her players like it is in this case. Quite simply, you have to be much smarter than that these days regardless of your "right" to feel how you want to feel and say what you want to say.
  5. I would love to know how he came up with $40M in actual damages. I would assume it's business related...would have earned $40M in revenues if he was able to wine and dine certain clients at the game. I don't know. Seems like an awfully big number there. Smaller actual damages and larger punitive damages would have been the way I would have attacked this.
  6. I must say, I'm a bit surprised that there are some of you who like Evans over Watkins. Interesting. I thought it was a given that Watkins was the WR of choice for everyone, guess not.
  7. Simple, assuming we stay at 9, who do you think are the top 9 on the Bills Big Board and who are the top 9 on Your Big Board for the Bills? We would be selecting the highest player remaining on the Board when we draft. BILLS Board: 1. Clowney 2. Mack 3. Watkins 4. Robinson 5. Lewan 6. Mathews 7. Mosley 8. Ebron 9. Evans My Board for the BILLS: 1. Clowney 2. Watkins 3. Mack 4. Manziel 5. Robinson 6. Ebron 7. Mosley 8. Donald 9. Mathews
  8. Uhhh....did you watch him play last season? He is one of the best.
  9. CJ depends on being completely healthy (which he was not last season hampered by a bad ankle) and a good OL (which we did not have last year). With a good OL and good health, he is better than FJ in my opinion. Freddy is Freddy regardless of his health and how good or bad our line is. Solid runner that will get you solid yards on every carry and heart that just don't find on every team. Spiller was healthy in 2012 and we had a better line that year as well, result: much better performance. Huge plays every game, very few negative or 0 yard runs. He was sliding though holes and making cuts that he just couldn't do last year. Also, we had a pretty conservative playbook last year with EJ et. all at the helm, this allowed Ds to play more run D than before IMO. Spiller is a special talent, Freddy is a special all around person / leader / player. Hope we have them both for a few more years at least.
  10. He's only asking if it's legal. Obviously it would never happen, but it is legal if the trust allows it.
  11. It would depend on what the Trust says. That's the legally binding document you'd have to follow here first. Generally speaking, if you own something, regardless of how valuable it is, and you want to give it away for free or for much less than it is worth, you can do it. This is America after all.
  12. Well, if Evans is taken by anyone other than Tampa it looks like no one is winning this year! Only a small few have him going anywhere else.
  13. There's only one sheltered person here...32 NFL GMs who won't go near this guy are sheltered too I suppose?
  14. I think you are severely overestimating the value of the 4th compared to the 9th overall pick.
  15. This would be just about his 10th chance. There's a reason St. Louis and the Bills didn't want him before the scandal and there's a reason why he's still a free agent right now. Not to mention bringing in a guy like this on a young, impressionable team is just not what you want to do. On some occasions, talent just isn't enough.
  16. Well, they always say DBs are just WRs that can't catch and he can make some tackles. Not a horrible thought to take a look at him there. He's obviously not going to amount to anything as a WR at this point to me.
  17. I don't like any of the BPA or Value picking mentality at all. If I were running things I'd grade out my entire team and grade out the draft class. If I have a offensive or defensive starting position graded out at say a 65 Guard (on a 0-100 scale for instance) and there was a guard on the board who I rated as a 90, I would take him over a 95 RT when I already have a 80 RT on the roster. 90-65=25 95-80=15. 25>15. You would improve your team more this way. Draft the player that will provide the biggest impact on your squad and build around what you already have. This is a win now league for the most part, and this is the best way to win now. Obviously not a perfect system as some positions are more valuable (namely QB) but I think you get the jist of what I'm trying to say.
  18. He obviously means 4th overall, not 4th round. Why must people correct everyone on every little mistake. Do you think you are proving you are smarter than the OP or are somehow being clever? It's so played out man. To answer your question, no. The only instance that I would consider it is if Watkins were available and they felt he was a considerable upgrade from Stevie. Also, I don't think I'd want to "throw in" a 7th rounder on top of a very solid WR and the 9th. Personally, I like Stevie and I never like trading a known commodity for unknown ones. We could always try to get another WR at 9 or in the second. If we do, and we like him after workouts and camps we could always trade Stevie for pick(s) in next years draft. There will be teams that wanted a top end receiver that didn't get one and there are always injuries in the season / training camps.
  19. Now that's funny! Anyway, OP, I'm around your age. Here's a summary for you. Strip Club / Casinos - Canadian Side of Niagara Falls Night Club type joints - Chippewa Street - Walking distance from Downtown Hotels More chill bars with lots of live music, friendlier people, fewer meathead doucebags - Allen Street area or Elmwood Area (which are pretty close to each other) has smaller bars (a step above hole in the wall type joints) that I enjoy much more than Chippewa these days. Short cab ride from Downtown (5-10 mins) and there are a few hotels around here too. I'd stay here if I were an out of towner, but that's just me. Wings - don't fall for the Anchor Bar crap, they suck. Duffs is where it's at and you can spend hours there drinking and watching sports as well. Hockey - Sabres games are great even when we suck. There are bars around the arena too that are not bad on game nights. As other's have noted, do NOT, I repeat, do NOT stay near the stadium, you'll be disappointed. Stay near one of the bar districts, you'll be able to stumble home without a cab and there are plenty of damn good places to eat as well. Besides wings, local favorites also include Ted's Hot Dogs (the name of a place), Beef on Weck (a type of sandwich served at a ton of places), Wings obviously, and there are some great pizza places too depending on where you stay (definitely go local over national chains). If you're looking to drop some cash and want steak Buffalo Chop House is where it's at. It's a nice place and pretty expensive but damn good. Have fun.
  20. 1. Johnny Manziel - Browns 2. Jadeveon Clowney - Texans 3. Blake Bortles - Tennessee 4. Khalil Mack - Jacksonville 5. Mike Evans - Tampa Bay
  21. He looks nasty doesn't he? I wouldn't want him pissed at me.
  22. Just saw on the Fox Sports 1 Ticker that he signed for a whopping $63,000. Quite the pay cut from the NFL. He either really loves football or is really broke already. I'm thinking the latter.
  23. Jarvis Landry WR LSU. Beckham gets most of the hype (and he's good, no doubt) but every time I watched LSU it was Landry coming up with the big plays at the big times. He just has a knack for clutch performances.
  24. Not nearly as bad as CNN has been with that flight that vanished. I would literally get alerts to my phone saying that there were no new developments, they had it as breaking news on their website for over a month and talked about on air for over a month non-stop with absolutely nothing new to report except idiots speculating the same scenarios over and over and over. I actually removed them from my favorites far, removed their app from my phone, and haven't turned on their tv station since. SNL even did a pretty funny fake commercial about it. It was unbelievable. No wonder their rating continue to plummet.
