Does anyone know if they are dropping the price now that preseason is over? They really jacked it up this offseason, but I might invest further down the line.

Weather for the weekend? Maybe rain
WhitewalkerInPhilly replied to boyst's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
One, I'm not putting too much in a weather report 5 days out. Two, in the case that it does bucket and is very windy, so much the better for us. Do you remember what the weather was like in the AFC Championship game? That was the worst game Luck has had in a long while. Maybe EJ can ask the equipment guys to rig a bunch of firehoses so that the ball and field are drenched all game. It's not like Goddell can suspend him, he never informed EJ that he could be suspended for tampering with stadium hoses. -
Is anyone else thinking the Colts are a bit overhyped? I mean they look good and definitely could beat us. But I keep hearing them as Superbowl contenders, but their run defense and o-line look possibly even worse than last year. You can win a lot of games on Luck's arm and mop up bad teams...but I feel like against physical teams that may be outmatched.

Matt Cassel re-signed, will be #2 QB
WhitewalkerInPhilly replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Makes sense. We get vet insurance for 3.5 M less on the cap. -
Honestly, I think this is going to be an interesting matchup. I think our DBs look to be outmatched, but both their O-line and D-line look to be in shambles. I honestly think we can shut down Gore with 6 in the box. And with Jones out and Tyrod a running threat they'll need at least 8 men in the box at all time. I'm liking the matchup more and more.

This is a quote from Urbik which stuck with me: Jeez, no wonder our offense stalled. As for the article, I've also thought of Roman is Bizarro world Chip Kelly. Both use extensively drawn plays with a lot of movement, rely on keeping opponents on the field to wear them out and are willing to forgo giant plays for a continual string of plays that get you 5 yards a pop. The difference is that Chip does it with a lightning fast passing game and spread attacks to run it from the shotgun with a one cut runner, while Roman forces 8 or 9 men in the box to give favorable passing matchups.

Brady's suspension lifted
WhitewalkerInPhilly replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, I'm not shocked since it sounded like Berman was raking the NFL over the coals. But still... A) I'd rather see zero games than one for "failing to cooperate with the investigation" only to have us get the brunt of it week 2. It seemed like it might go that way for a while. B) The decision is about process and procedure. While I wildly disagree, this is nothing to do with guilt or innocence. Brady may not serve a suspension, but he is, in the eyes of the league, still guilty. Strip him from the hall of fame. -
QB Tyrod Taylor to start Week 1
WhitewalkerInPhilly replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And you got that from his interview process? -
Ronald Darby - how will he do?
WhitewalkerInPhilly replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd be less worried if his first two starts weren't Luck and Brady. I think he has a lot of talent (the two picks against Indy) but I was really hoping that we'd be able to bring him along slowly. Would anyone be shocked if we rotated Graham or Aaron Williams back to CB and used Darby as the nickel? -
Is Greg Roman the next Mike Pettine?
WhitewalkerInPhilly replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well first of all, it's kind of nice to have the idea of someone poaching our OC to be a problem worth considering. I do think it's possible, and I definitely think he would take the job if offered. That said, a lot would have to happen: One, the offense would have to do well here. But then you strange paradox that, if the offense is good and the defense is as advertised, the Bills should absolutely be going deep into the playoffs and the further you go it becomes harder for you to be interviewed. Second, Roman is a run game specialist. If it's going to be effective you have to be built as a run first team with a great running back and stout defense. That will limit teams who are interested. -
QB Tyrod Taylor to start Week 1
WhitewalkerInPhilly replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, you were a wiser man than I. In the end, I'm satisfied with how this has played out. Tyrod may have been Rex's hopeful, but he most definitely won over the fanbase, and from what I hear, the locker room. -
The pressure is on LeSean McCoy now
WhitewalkerInPhilly replied to BADOLBILZ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Preach it. I got to hear the 48 hours when he went from beloved local superstar hero to pariah. But the pressure has been on since the day we traded for him. -
QB Tyrod Taylor to start Week 1
WhitewalkerInPhilly replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah. Billick wrote a bit for NFL which started off something like this: there are teams with quarterbacks good enough to win the championship and there are those who do not. Speaking of the latter, the Buffalo Bills announce their starting quarterback. He goes on to say that the bills are following the model of the Seattle Seahawks but lack a running back like Marshawn Lynch but may go forward with their skill players like LeSean McCoy. Brace yourself, it's bad:http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000519135/article/tyrod-taylor-over-ej-manuelmatt-cassel-right-move-for-bills -
QB Tyrod Taylor to start Week 1
WhitewalkerInPhilly replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Can I say that I want both to do well. I'd love to be in the Chargers position where they had both Brees and Rivers on their roster. Does anyone else remember when Buddy's line was tapped? CAN I GET AN AMEN!?! -
QB Tyrod Taylor to start Week 1
WhitewalkerInPhilly replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well Tyrod was known to have a long arm already. One of the jokes was that he was the one with the perfect aim on the deep end zone post play, and could rainbow arc the ball into garbage cans. The real worry was and is his ability to make intermediate throws over the middle. But at least he can throw the long ball, which Cassel cant, and the high percentage passes Cassel was supposed to be the master of. Plus the explosiveness of his legs, which is going to mean teams more frequently go into single coverage. -
QB Tyrod Taylor to start Week 1
WhitewalkerInPhilly replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ok, NOW I fully believe it. Seriously though guys, did we all watch the same games? Yeah EJ showed improvement and I hope he gets another shot with us. As people have said, Taylor carries an injury risk and it would be better to have someone with similar play style on the roster. But Taylor has looked good. Really really good, and he's done it for the most part without his best skill players. I honestly think this could be an incredible offensive to go along with our defense with him running it.Do people really think that's impossible with Tyrod running things? -
QB Tyrod Taylor to start Week 1
WhitewalkerInPhilly replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is me too. I do think EJ looked a lot better and I want the Bills to keep him, but Tyrod's biggest question has never been his arm or ability to feel pressure or make plays with his legs, it was always whether he could make intermediate passes over the middle, step up I'm the pocket when he had to instead if running and go through his progressions. For certain we've seen him do the last two. Well see on the first. -
QB Tyrod Taylor to start Week 1
WhitewalkerInPhilly replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In all due fairness in the Cleveland game he led his his shoulder in the open field well after he got the first. But most of the time he absolutely knows when to slide or get out of bounds. -
QB Tyrod Taylor to start Week 1
WhitewalkerInPhilly replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's funny, I was called earlier for stressing that Rex and Ryan's plan stresses ball control, time of possession and limiting turnovers. Still, Id have been happy with EJ but Taylor is much, much more preferable to Casssel. -
QB Tyrod Taylor to start Week 1
WhitewalkerInPhilly replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well I won't shoot you but I am sad. Tyrod with the ones, but Cassel with the twos... Still, Brown called it "not surprising" so Tyrod does seem like the guy.
