  1. To be fair, it started as comments by Carucci. THEN it got picked up my Joe B, who ran with it. From that, Trolldak, who is too lazy to do his own reporting unless it's doing terrible interviews with Shady, added to the fuel by pretty much retweeting what Joe B wrote. After that it was off to the races. I like Joe B, but Jesus, EJ must have stolen his girlfriend at some point.
  2. Really? I thought the trade took place after Nix had stepped down?
  3. Thanks CB! Any highlights for those stuck at work who can't listen?
  4. I find it kind of funny how the anti-EJ posters are the ones who agree most with the Dolphins. Tannehill had an extraordinarily up and down season his rookie year, and he wasn't all that much better his second. But mysteriously, after playing for a few seasons he gets better and is worth shelling out the big bucks for? Tannehill is the best sales pitch ever for giving EJ a legit shot to win this training camp.
  5. FWIW, OurLads had him starting. Hey, I'll take a Pats** secondary that can't defend the boundary, especially with Sammy and Harvin.
  6. I'm still surprised. I thought they were incredibly thin before the draft, so I never expected them to release 2 CBs afterwards
  7. In all fairness, speaking as someone who his bachelors in Biochem, a biochemist should understand Ideal Gas theory. You do get into partial pressures as air composition changes, and as temperatures drop, but the simulated tests from an outside lab would be the most reliable. My only guess is that there is just a massive overabundance of hot air in the Patriots locker room. ... Wait guys! I figured it out! XD
  8. I don't think they're going to be as bad as they've being made out to be. Granted, they're not All Pro, which I would like, but there are some factors for me. -Scheme matters. Wood and Glenn, two established solid veterans, regressed. Kromer's system looks like a much better fit. -Coaching. Last year's three OL picks were highly touted. Cyrus was considered a steal in the 2nd, and Cyril a promising project. Henderson was always seen as an immense physical talent who couldn't get his head on straight, but who did. None of these guys saw their performance develop. One is normal, two is a fluke, three is likely bad coaching. -New additions. Incognito, while not a nice person, was a pro bowl player his last full year, and graded out better than that the year of the scandal. Miller looks to be plug and play. -play design. Have you seen some of the things Roman has cooked up? Putting 8 lineman on the field in an unbalanced line is something Hackett wouldn't have dreamt of, never mind tried.
  9. I know...Goddell should ask a law firm, and independent one to review the evidence, conduct interviews and check the scientific merit of arguments. That way, not even the Patriots can complain. ...wait...whoops.
  10. To the shock of absolutely no one. I feel that way too. I think they saw the firestorm coming and overpunished, expecting some resistance so all sides could save some face at the end of it. I don't think he planned on the response being quite so insane and inane.
  11. I think that if Marrone stuck to being "CEO HC" like he claimed, things could have been ok. He could have said, "Jesus, the system I'm trying to run doesn't fit my players. I hear Greg Roman is free. Let's bring him in here." But instead he didn't, and he quit. BTW, after seeing the schemes on some of those run plays, I am going on record that Roman is a massive improvement. Running the ball might be "conservative", but some of the things he's drawn up sure aren't.
  12. As someone who graduated with a science degree that had me take Chemistry 101... So, either a 100 or so years of Chemical theory is wrong, OR the Pats have no idea what they are talking about.
  13. Translation: Jesus, at least have the decency to give us a plausible lie to try to defend you!
  14. I really don't get it. I expected the denial, just as I expect an appeal. But this is getting hilarious, and I would find it even funnier if I didn't have a nagging voice in my head saying that it will work.
  15. Oh thank god. I'm tired of hearing people go on that we should expect a full overturn of all games. I would be annoyed of they knocked it down to one game. I would have a stroke if it was zero.
  16. Jesus this thread escalated quickly...not that I should be surprised. Seriously people, wait and see. Roman got a functional offense with Alex Smith and an unpolished Kaepernick. Whoever wins, wins. I have hope in EJ's ceiling but I can accept Cassel's floor being higher.
  17. That's pretty much my attitude. The starting CBs should be Gilmore and McKelvin, and maybe Graham if they don't rotate him to safety. And I'm not forgetting Robey in there either. That said, if we have learned nothing about our CB group over the last few years, we should have learned that the odds of our top 3 CBS going all season without one of them spending some time on the injury list to be slim to none. The last thing I want is another "and now Justin Rodgers is a starting CB" moment.
  18. Breaking news: Bill Belicheck signs CB Justin Rodgers, is genius. [/sarcasm]
  19. Not so much the appealing as the claims that the Pats** seem to be interested in filing a lawsuit. As mentioned already, I'm pretty sure that of the NFL gets sued, this is now an actual legal case and evidence and witnesses can be subpoenad instead of being voluntary as in the Wells report. What *is* on that phone that Brady wants to hide?
  20. No, that's what I intended. The more Brady has his agent and team owner scream and stamp their feet, the more coverage and the more this gets dragged into the open. I don't know if one interview on the Phanatic is proof, but if he really wants to keep at it I suspect things get ugly.
  21. Seriously Tom, it only gets worse from here if you keep pushing it. *Now* the knives are going to start coming out.
  22. Two things I take away from this: -Rex is clearly learning. People were looking for a quote on Brady to throw fuel on the fire and Brady didn't give it to them. -Miller sounds up to speed. I'm penciling him in as a starting Guard.
  23. We definitely needed to stretch the field more last year. For all the 49ers fan complaints of conservative play calling and predictability, I haven't seen anything as bad what Marrone and Hackett did with those "Spiller up the middle" plays.
  24. I know it's a joke, but man, the Pats have a putrid CB group right now. The Eagles had likely the worst secondary last year, and Bradley Fletcher was by far the worst of their starting 2 CBs. They are likely going to be picked apart.
