Hallelujah- A Professional OC .....FINALLY!!!
WhitewalkerInPhilly replied to Buffalo Boy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agrees with all of the above. The only thing I can think of as a negative is that someone mentioned that it seemed odd that they ran it up the middle on third and long with Cassel. But with only one new player starting on the O line, it seems to be playing far, far better. No matter who winds up starting I think Roman can scheme an offense for them. -

Tyrod Taylor to start Week 2 preseason
WhitewalkerInPhilly replied to Beef Jerky's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm shocked, even I'm shocked, after the Trentative/Holcomb/Brohm nightmare, after Fitz, after all the EJ slamming and 12 weeks of Orton, that people are coming down on Tyrod after having easily the best night out of all the Qbs. Are there faults to his game? Does he run a bit too early and often? Have defenses learned how to contain running QBs? Yes. But Tyrod is the one who kept the offense clicking. He, to me, embodied the philosophy that Rex and Roman have been embodying from day one: We run first. We run the ball down their throats. When you need to, make the big play to keep it going, but keep on grounding and pounding. I can't remember the last time we had a boring 90 yard touchdown drive, but Tyrod made it look easy. The Goodwin throw was perfect from the pocket, and well diagnosed and placed well to give the speedster room to go. He extended play with his legs and threw on the run after blitzes. He, when the defense gave him the chance, tore up the field with his legs. And if Tompkins doesn't drop that ball off his fingertips we get to shut up about his passing ability. Exactly. I don't believe Russel WIlson has ever been better than 12th in QB rating. You take what the defense gives you. If they start spying you in the pocket that means there's one less S or LB in pass coverage and they bite *hard* on the bootleg pass. -
That would explain a lot. They roasted Darby early and often, and usually that means they rotate a safety toward you. And Darby did improve throughout the night, and from the way Murph and Kelso were calling it, Darby's two biggest mistakes were when the WR could have been out of bounds and the Panthers quick snapped it to avoid a review and Kelvin Benjamin's TD where he apparently flagrantly pushed off and didn't get called by the refs. That'll be good experience for Darby knowing that Offensive PI will be ignored more often than not. That's where I am too. Cassel might be very capable of making the high percentage throws, but eventually, like we learned with Chan and Fitz defenses start only covering 15 yards back. If you have absolute precision like Tommy Boy, you can make it work, but otherwise you catch on quick. With mobile QBs, there is also a weakness and admittedly most teams have studied the read option enough that it doesn't take the defense by complete surprise anymore. But the way most teams defend against it is to have a LB or S spy the QB to contain his run, which means there is one less player defending your receivers. To me, Tyrod showed enough promise throwing on the run (escaping a sure sack to throw to Karlos) and in the pocket he had that nice throw to Goodwin. Goodwin made the play after the catch but it was almost a sure first down even before that. He has entirely earned a chance to play with the 1's vs Cleveland.

Hey, the league can't suspend IK! Their report didn't correctly take into account Newton's Laws of Motion and the Conservation of Momentum. And I'm pretty sure they didn't explicitly include breaking the jaw of a teammate. It's a sham I tell you, a conspiracy! -
Hey, if they can sweep Bradford's leg in December... Seriously though, I'd save my gate for Tommy Boy if he skates on his suspension.

Bills training camp practice 8/12
WhitewalkerInPhilly replied to Canadian Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Believe me, I desperately want EJ to put it all together and flash the talent he's shown at times for whoke games. But Tyrod at 70% of Russell Wilson would be a nice consolation prize. -
I'm hearing that Berman is looming to the facts of the case. While Pats* fans are crowing, I think they should be terrified. If you want the facts doesn't everything come in? Wouldn't that give the NFL full subpoena power to dig through records, including anything to see if Belicheck knew? Can't they put McNally on the stand and get three retired quarterbacks to pick put a deflated ball blindfolded? The second it stops being due process, and about about evidence the NFL gets to dredge EVERYTHING.

According to Sal's report, and i think Sal has been pretty balanced since taking over for Joe B, TT has been consistently progressing. And, as I've mentioned before, Cassel and EJ have taken their turns for having the worst day. I have yet to see Tyrod have it. -

Dareus: Bills celebrated when Marrone opted out
WhitewalkerInPhilly replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't know whether we'd be 9-7 with EJ. But I think you'd find a lot of people around here who think that we'd have been 11-5 if we'd have anyone else than the Marrone/Hackett duo play calling in the Denver and Oakland games. -

Getting, you know, I into the actual football talk, I have a feeling IK could fit in on some packages, especially the 46 that we were talking about here: http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/179608-46-defense-implemented/page-2 In that, the SLB comes in really as a 5th DE. We have Lawson, but his real talent is sealing the edge on the run and less pass rushing. If you really want to bring the pain in a third and long IK is not a bad choice. -

I will say for the record, now that I am in a different state and the statue of limitations is passed, that once in high school, a kid my age decided to rip up my books for fun. When I confronted him, he smirked, pointed to his cheek and said "Lay one on me" I didn't break his jaw, but one punch later and he dropped. Now, this was stupid as hell and I admit it but I'm not sure, if I went back, if I would do it any different. -
