  1. Well the new starters don't seem to be a problem as much as the quality of starters. Harremans is a decent vet coming off an injury that year, but 70th out of 78 guards puts him in Pears and Chris Williams territory. And he's the best they acquired. I absolutely believe that even without Dareus, Rex will be able to dominate their O-line all day with 5 rushers. With Gore still kicking, I'd want Brown in, but if we're playing Nickel/Big Nickel/ Dime all game, we still have depth in Gilmore, Darby, Graham, A. Williams, Robey and Duke/Meeks.
  2. Any word from Astro? I thought he was at camp today and I'm jonesing for a report.
  3. After hearing negative reports on Darby I was pleasantly surprised to hear Fairburn give a favorable review. But I guess even some uneven play shouldn't be a surprise out of a rookie.
  4. Oh god I had forgotten about that...
  5. Tyrod is the MVP. I don't want to jump to conclusions, but that's never stopped me before.
  6. Don't get me wrong. The Colts are loaded at skill positions, have a bruising RB who is still going strong, and a QB who can sling it. That said, that's what they said about the Bears last season.
  7. I checked, and so fat the only O line changes they've made here signing an aging Todd Harremans, and taking a guy one pick away from being Mr. Irrelevant. Our D line must be kicking their chops.
  8. Anything substantial for those who can't listen?
  9. Touche. But a lot of the narrative when the trade first happened was "well, it sucks that we had to lose a good player and a fan favorite, but he had a salary which was booming and we got a good player in return" Now it's "Did you hear Shady expressed an opinion on our coach that I don't like, yet looks increasingly accurate? He sucks! We wiped off Buffalo aka the Siberia of the NFL lol" So yes, the schadenfreude is real. I am not even joking about being called the Siberia off the NFL. Eff you Eskin.
  10. Rough break. At least it happened during practice this time. I bet they're going crazy on Philly sports radio.
  11. This. Darby is looking great. We have Robey in the slot. We can, if absolutely necessary, roll AW or CG as a boundary CB. Brooks and Butler don't sound to be doing too bad as the 4th and 5th CBs on the roster. I'm worried, but not panicking.
  12. It's my favorite rebuttal to the "but he's consistent" argument. Consistently subpar is not better than cycling between subpar and acceptable.
  13. I just saw this pop. On one hand, I have nothing against Kiko. He was a lot of fun to watch, and he played well for us. On the other hand, boy, do I think Whaley had good timing. I have a feeling that Shady will get 5-10 more touches a game than Spiller. Usually one follows the other.
  14. Anything for those of us who can't listen?
  15. Or that there was the chance that there could be a time that your boundary CBs are wiped out from injury. Justin Rodgers. Never forget the pain.
  16. Sounds like McKelvin rein jure himself in the offseason. If Whaley knew that before the draft and kept it quiet he looks brilliant for taking Darby.
  17. Hey, their play wasn't THAT offensive. It sounded like they made progress. ...whoops Rex giving Tyrod his second straight good start #PleaseGodNotCassel
  18. Sure, but he certainly seems to be making the case for more time. If wonder if that's on purpose. That sounds a lot like how Russell Wilson won the starting job.
  19. When I say consistency, it's not so much along the lines of his overall as much that he never seems to have the worst day. Cassel is stuck on Meh to average, and EJ has been all over the map, but Tyrod seems to range from Meh to impressive. If anyone has watched a bunch of the practices and has seen otherwise please let me know. I'm going off this secondhand.
  20. I know I've been a staunch EJ guy, but apparently Tyrod looked good today as well. If he's more consistent I'm starting to buy in.
  21. Kyle is chasing JJ Watts offensive production. Seriously, all those SF Gans who said Roman is predictable were off their rockers.
  22. It sound like Kouandjio is in full pads today. Good sign.
  23. I think theres a subtle difference the the requirements for the positions. Right guard is a little more focused on run blocking (Miller's specialty ) while left guard needs more of a focus on pass protection. It's a subtle difference but I prefer Reggie on the blind side.
  24. Hey, I'm happy to hear about Wood. Going by the Astro-notes , Glenn, Incognito look very very good and Miller looks very good. Cyrus and Seantrel have both looked average.
